@@KingAbzTVAlso loved it. Btw, this is unrelated to this video, but the Lancer MK2 in Gears of War Judgement was a error on the writer/dev’s I will assume since it is a storyline/continuity error unless they managed to get it retconned or something.
@@KingAbzTV can i ask a question? Do you think they should use the lancer mk2 in gears e day? Like half way through? Or should they keep the retro lancer? Also what weapons do you want in the game?
I've said something similar in some of your other lore videos. It's great to have things presented in this way, where lore has been drip fed to us in games that are 6 years apart or in DLC and comics which not everyone has seen. This gives a flavour to political situations, military operations and important events not experienced in the games. Compact but really nice vid.
2:31 the unknown gear was name Luis in the 2006 gears of war, while Baird telling Marcus and dom “let’s go” he gets shot and killed before they got into the building
Man I wish we had a gears of war open world where you could call in squads during pendulums and locust wars and go on missions and rank up soldiers and rank up and unlock new armors and choose different armor types for your squad members, create out their designated combat role sort of like tactics but third person game focusing on different set of characters
Cole is the ultimate homie, always showing up either with his squadmates like Baird and Gyules or at the very least their tags, he would hav made a great Marine with instincts like that.
11:37 the 7th Mangler Unit were after the end of the locust war they were called the terrible ones mainly due to clay’s brutal tactics including labotomy hence why in gears 4 he was tasked into training the cadets instead of in a active military role where he can go unseen from high command
The COG Gears sort of evolved into a militarized police force during the Locust War. Didn't the books mention that the COG Army had disbanded the old Regimental system active during the Pendulum Wars and before and replaced it with a centralized model where it was based around squads?
Samantha Byrne was also involved in operation hollow storm. She could have potentially been with Clayton Carmine on the same squad. Oh and let's not forget that Anya was also a member of delta 1 since the Jacinto sinking
It always bugged me that the few times other squads were introduced into the game they almost immediately get killed or almost wiped out by the time Delta shows (Echo Squad/s by this point are basically a death sentence.) I get Delta is supposed to be the best squad, but cmon we should be able to interact and see other squads actually being able to put up a fight and survive without help from Delta.
It always upset me we were never part of a large scale operation with a large unit. I know technically hollow storm is a large scale operation but you don't really do anything with other squads other than protect one and leave them. I'm sure it's the games engine that is really restrictive but man just give me 20+ other cog to storm a highly fortified area
@@BrickedUpp Right. So many times we see other squads of Gears throughout the various games, yet they are always sent out on their own to sadly their own deaths. I'm hoping with E-Day we will get to work with other squads and not once again be limited to working with 3 other people the whole game.
It was nice the Gears 3 DLC showed the results after E-day and I was hoping we could follow up on Jace in the new games since Barrick, Alicia, Tai, and Minh all end up dead. My theory was Jace was gonna be playable character in the next gears game but that never happened unfortunately
Fantastic video Abz! 🎉 You do the nerdom proud. Lore theory: Do you think that the COG Army did away with companies and platoons in favour for autonomous squads, or was it purely circumstance?
Really want to gears 5 DLC how you go past in the. locust years And you get a pick what locust to play as each one of them and a whole story of each one of them
Not going to lie, that opening statement about the cog having 100s or even 1000s of infantry squads made no sense considering squads are from 4 to like 10 in game so this basically meant that at their full extent of power, the Cog only had upwards to a few thousand to about a few 10s of thousands of soldiers which doesn’t make sense
There were many nations part of the COG and the COG were at their full power in the pendulum wars and they were still strong in the early locust war era. The games are set 14 years after E day and onwards where the COG was almost a shell of what it once was. Therefore the games aren’t going to be showcasing all those squads are they. The amount of gears and squads involved in Hollow Storm shouldn’t be underestimated either.
The Onyx guard needs better representation in the franchise just as should the Marines. The writers of the game are garbage there is too much potential in lore to keep settling for the nonsense we keep getting as gamers and fans of this franchise. Onyx should be shown as the tip of the spear of the COG especially in gear and equipment (no they don't need tanks, but lav's) they should have early iterations of powered exoskeletons , AGL's newer lancers with divers attachments and their stamina and strength would be higher as well. The Special Tactics Commandos should be treated better . The COG armed forces in game makes no type of sense there should still be armor both wheeled and tracked with heavy caliber weapons that can be used and have as support there should be an actual airforce that have playable moments (yes fighters bombers etcetera) should be multiple variations of rotor craft including tilt rotor. The COG by 4 should all be equipped with all of those Db weapons, why give the advantage to robots only when you still have an army to equip? Just saying things have to get better in the games moving forward.
Bo honest to god my favorite game is gears of war it was one of my first games every played its always astonishing to hear new lore and other amazing badass stuff it helps to see/listen to your content abs love you and your content dude
