He walked away with a ring?!?! He should be happy and his career was worth it. Many other players played better but never received that ring so he had a great career if you ask me and needs to own up to it. No regrets.

If you are born with slow twitching muscles like Jeremy Lin and all Asians, how can you compete? it is just genetics. Nothing you can do about genetics or DNA. No matter how much you work at it, your genetics just prevents you. That is why there are no Asians from China with 1.4 Billion and none are in NBA. It is the same with female genetics makes it impossible to compete with men. Look, there are no sprinters from China, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia that can compete in these types of running competition as they don't have the muscle fibers that you see in sub-Saharan Africans. It is no different than intellectual capability also. Google "IQ Map of the World" and you see sub-saharan African countries are lower than anywhere else in the world. That is why you don't see people ethnically from that part of the world succeed in the STEM (science, technology, engineer, math) discplines even when they move to other parts of the world. Look back in 1979, China was as poor or poorer than most African states. But, China understood they were poor and backwards, so once Mao died and no longer had dictatorship of China, the CCP then sent their children to study at major universities in the STEM field and bring that knowledge back to China to build their manufacturing and R&D. Afircan countries could do the same but they don't. Diamonds may come from Africa in raw form and there is nothing to stop Africans them from learning how to cut and polish diamonds. But almost all diamonds are sent to India and Europe to be cut and polished to be sold to the retail market. Cocoa beans are needed for chocolate, but Africa doesn't have the engineering talent to build and maintain the engineering to create cholocate to sell at retail level. Same with Arabica and Robusta beans that are not processed in Africa but sent mainly to Europe and America to process where there is the engineering talent to build and maintain equipment to do the processing of the beans. During the Trans-atlantic slave trade that lasted some 350 years, the African Kingdoms loved selling slaves to the Europeans so they could get guns, gunpowder and rum (liquor). In all that time, why didn't the Africans learn to create their own guns, gunpowder or liquor. When the Japanese, Chinese, Koreans realized how backwards they were compared to Western countries, they turned things around in just 30-40 years. The Japanese were amazed with steam engine ships and then 60 years later they were building aircraft carriers and planes to attack Pearl Harbor.

Melo is a top 75, first ballot HOF that revived NY basketball and led that team to multiple successful seasons. Jeremy Lin was never close to that calibre of player. Lin dribbled a basketball at centre court to close out games in that finals series. Scrubs "win" NBA championships every year. Why you people choose to scapegoat Melo for Lin's mediocre career when he only played 26 games in a Knicks jersey is beyond me.

If Jeremy was black, he'd've spent most of his basketball career in the g league or Euro league like black players with comparable talent did. The NBA is a global brand. You don't think the league office (who's second largest market is in basketball hungry China) LOVED having a guy like Lin in the NBA? If Lin was even HALF the player his delusional fanbase suggest he was, he'd still have a contract with a team. Jeremy has the fanbase that he does because of his ethnicity, Melo has fans because of his talent. Melo is a first ballot HOF. Be for real.

Jeremy also made DOUBE the career earnings that Thomas did, in-spite of the gap in talent and productivity.
