My high school foot ball coach was such a man, giving boys what they needed most, developing all of us into strong and confident men along the way. A lesson I've held onto my entire life through my military career and now through retirement. America needs these men of character now more than ever because what will happen to this great nation when the next war comes to our shores and there are none left.

As someone who served from 2013-2019 in the Marine Corps and now in the Army as an officer, I saw the complete deterioration of our youth. The marines I was in charge of were wimps. The soldiers are even worse. This nation is not ready for another war. We need to return masculinity to our schools or this country is living its last days.

@@buddybuythis3889 Exactly! And another part of the problem is he is based in Canada. Canadian actors, no matter how good they are, DO NOT get the same treatment in the U.S. Film industry as actors from Los Angeles or New York. It really sucks. Toronto has an amazing job market for actors, especially for TV, since so many shows film up there. But it also traps Canadian actors into a local market. It's tough for them to get into SAG, audition in Los Angeles, and break out in Los Angeles. It's not impossible, but not easy. Durand has been a quality actor for a LONG time, but like many great Canadian actors, has had trouble breaking out of the C and B lists.

Kevin is totally underrated as a character actor. He has an unusual look - not unhandsome - but he's not conventionally leading man material and I think that's why he may be overlooked. But I would put him against a Cruise or a Craig or a Pitt any day of the week (and I'm just listing off leading men, not necessarily good actors). He's done a couple of 'okay' (or maybe not so okay ) movies in 'Legion' and "Dark was the Night", but he made those roles so stand-out. Those movies are worth watching for him alone. In Legion, he's particularly engaging as Gabriel - tormented, dedicated. Now I have to go watch it again!

I work in a factory. When I started, everyone talked about the Plant Manager. How tough he was, how at any moment he would just appear, seemly from nowhere. You better be doing something productive, after all we are paying you. Day or night, weekends, or holidays when we were closed, he may just show up. After all, there was a couple of guys there to watch the boilers, and fire alarms. They were getting paid. Holiday pay, and maybe overtime. You were not going to just sit around. Many talked bad about how tough he was, but I always felt I knew where I stood, and what they expected of us. He was fair, and in the end, he has a lot of respect from many. He was a Korean War Veteran, who worked his way to an Engineering Degree, after the war on the G.I.Bill. The Colonel kinda reminds me of the old Plant Manager.

This was a Short Film released in 2016 that not many people have seen so tell them about it. This should convince producers he's ready for a Feature Film Starring Role. I knew Kevin when he lived in Vancouver and we worked on Beggars & Choosers so it is such a pleasure to see him in a big Starring Role. In real life he is a positive, funny and caring gentleman who also works out very hard. I used to also see Kevin in the Dunbar gym as well which was also Kevin Sorbo's gym, but that is where the comparison ends. Kevin Durand is a guy who would give you the shirt off his back and he has a wonderful outlook on life. When he was young he learned Ballet but he did also play Hockey like a good Canadian boy. I hope to see him in more big roles like this.

My first civilian job was in IT after completing college. My immediate supervisor was an older Korean War vet. We looked at each other like we could shoot in the blink of an eye. He often lectured to others at how I was always 5-10 mins early. I went "online" at a specific time, not pull into the parking lot. After about 4 months, he had to direct me to take a day off. I was given tremendous freedoms because I did not require any supervision. Our department accomplished many things. We were the only 2 in our department more interested in team work than being a standout.

How th' #$%& did I not know about this movie?!? Kevin Durand kicks ass. I had a PE teacher/coach like this character. He was a hardass that caught flack from other PE teachers & coaches with comments like "They're kids, not soldiers," and "This is high school, not military school." One day after hearing one of those slurs half our class went over to that other teacher and told him we love how our teacher pushes us and to mind his own damn business. I ended up with six-pack abs because of him. _"Pain is weakness leaving the body!"_

My late Vice School Principle was A Marine Colonel too. He was among the best teacher for us. At that time we feel fear and discipline. Nowadays, we miss him and his method in teaching us. RIP Colonel (Mar) Abdul Karim Usman (An alumni of Taruna Nusantara High School, Magelang, Indonesia)

This reminds me a little of my PE teacher at school (well over 50 years ago) sending us out on cross country runs with all of us wearing only canvas shoes (no socks) and cotton shorts (no top) in the snow and not just once but pretty much every time it snowed. It certainly amused him and we all survived so I suppose we learned something.

Kevin has been around for a While and when Ever I see Him in Something I Know He and It will be Great. He was Great as the Guy Roxy was having a Bad Day and His Character was Being a Bully to Her and She Reached in and Pulled His Soul out of His Body to get Him to be a better Person in 1 Episode of Season 1 of Dead Like Me. He Played Lord Supokna in 2 Episodes of Stargate and His Character was Several Thousand Years Old and He Played Him as a Pampas Arrogant Smart Ass as all Guauld (THE GUAULD WERE THE BAD GUYS ) were and He was Perfect for that Character, Especially because of His Size. The Best so Far that I am aware of was His Character of a New York City Employee (Animal Control)and what He was, was basically a Rat Catcher for the City who Became a Main Character in The FX Channel Series The Strain and that Ran for 4 Seasons and His Character was Pivotal in carrying the Story and Many Episodes were Specifically Centered around His Character and He Carried a lot of the Scenes for all of the 4 Seasons. May be Some Day His Fans will get to see Him Explode on to the Scene as He SOOOO Rightly Deserves. Or, Maybe He is Like Many Actors who a Very Selective of What they A sign their Name on and to. Any Way , He is a Great Actor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This looks like The Mighty Ducks 3 in a different wrapping... Coach Orion : [picks hockey puck up off the ice and addresses the Ducks] What's the one thing all great teams have in common? Lester Averman : Great coaching. Coach Orion : [unamused] Don't try to suck up to me, Averman. [pause] Coach Orion : Defense. See, unlike scoring, defense never quits, but to play great defense, you need one thing above all else. Lester Averman : [sarcastically to Goldberg] Bet it starts with a "W." Coach Orion : Confidence. Listen, if you learn nothing else when you're here, you learn this. All right? 'Cause it's not just about hockey. It's easy to be confident when you have control of the puck. It's very, very difficult to keep that confidence when you gotta take whatever strange bounces life throws your way. Don't be careless, but don't be too careful either. You cannot be afraid to lose. That's how you gain the confidence to attack the game when the puck isn't yours. That's how you attack life even when you think you don't have any control. And that's how you play real defense.
