One thing I always have loved with your solutions is that you keep it simple. Removal of complexity ensures reliability is something I learned when dealing with fairly complex objectives in the field. Unfortunately adding complexity to simple tasks is now a "key feature" in most things.
Absolutely correct. Sometimes complexity is required due to some project constraints but one should always strive to make the solution as simple as possible without removing quality to the project. Too often people put their faith on really complex systems to compensate for the failure to think it through and design it properly at first.
Here you can see inventive spirit again. Make it nice, simple and easy. What time did we waste for disassembling and mill-cutting the safety lock without the possibility of bringing it back.
hey thanks for the video. Here's an idea for your next topics: how to protect from the AI takeover and the Terminator's cyborgs. A few tips: oil and sand, oil to cover their cameras, sand to tear their mobile parts ;)
When is the new magazine coming out in the uk? I hope to see a video about it soon, im really intersted to know the weight difference between the standard adder and this upgraded one. I would hope it has the intergrated slot for a laser its super accurate and needs to be there. I also hope the top spring will stay open like the v2 magazine thanks
The only problem I see with it is that, now that there's 18 shots, the red dot is so high you can't get a cheek weld on the rear stock. This makes the bow far less accurate than if you could properly stabilize it with another point of contact like your cheek.
Legal weapon yes, but in many countries you're only allowed to die, and even that is regulated. So if you shoot someone, you have a good chance of ending up in jail.
@@thomaslyons441 firearms may not be on their market. Remember, Joerg designs and markets these to Europeans for a defensive alternative due to their restrictive laws.
public service announcement for anyone sharing space on my island (britain)... the labour party are currently consulting with each other behind closed doors about banning both crossbows and broadheads. get your objections in to your local top-ish tier paid professional liar (politician) now if You really think it will make any difference. i will argue (like always) that the colour tie they wear is irrelevant, odds are if one group of overseers is discussing it then no matter which group occupy the top slot it's in the pipeline.
Sprave. I love my adder. Although it has the original 5 magazine- I've upgraded it loads. FYI though; the red dot that comes with it is awful! They have terrible parallax! So i upgraded mine to a sig saur romeo5! (The Cv life is a cheap copy of that, so as long as the parallax is just as good, then cool...)- i have a blue laser and torch, and upgraded thicker front grip but with button press bipods that come out of it. Ive upgraded the stock with a cheek rest and of course the 190ib venom limb... didnt know ek did there own 180ib limb though! I have a spirit level too sitting near the sight to make sure its straight... but the best and most pricey upgrade was the red dot. I can't stress enough how bad the default one is and how terrible the parallax is. I could probably do with upgrading the repeater cocking arm that you have from ek seige *that's where its from right?... but this is the beauty of the adder - it is so customisable and versatile! - and of course i run razor sharp broadheads.... I also own the vlad that is just as much kitted out, and of course the red dot is wholly upgraded with a genuine trijicon RMR (albeit used as they are expensive) Dont skimp on the red dot is one thing I have learned! Everything else is really affordable customising these amazing crossbows - but I can't stress enough to spend a bit of cash on the red dot, not 20bux on ali express!! Get something decent! - cv life being a cheap copy of my romeo5, and so long as it holds zero with no parallax (which if rated for proper fire arms - it should be fine!) - its the first thing you should upgrade! (Much like if into cars, the first thing you do is sink lots of money into alloy wheels 😂) Thanks jorg!! -: nice idea for the safety, could you sell some sort of official piece on your website? Ps:- wanna see my weapons? Go to my channel, playlist- "Magnitude weapons cache"
@@danielskipp1 certainly is - yea pretty useless lol, I know those items are just cheap (like the foregrip which is also pretty diabolical) just to get you going etc; but it can't be stated enough also, don't replace the sight with some amazon/ali express sub 20quid/bux/etc replacement sight, as it too will also have terrible parallax or won't hold zero at all! Laser obviously sorts this too... but yeah personally I want the sight if trying to stay hidden.
I’ve already made a safety switch for my siege using my 3D printer after seeing this simple yet genius design. It presses onto the frame of the bow so you don’t have to drill into anything. Gonna spend the next day or two making it look a little more presentable but if anyone wants the files let me know.
@@SutekhDaSteemroller Yeah, that's the Magazine Crossbow. I can't speak for Joerg, but it's likely that he had to delay the release of many upcoming products since his workshop got burned down.
If the front grip on the lever was made to slide down the length of the lever it would make it better. Without having to reposition the crossbow and reposition hands to reload/c**k the crossbow, the forward grip can be pulled down to the end of the lever, and slid back up to the forward position without removing a hand, and maybe make it possible to keep the crossbow on target the entire time.
Interesting idea. The long, kind of awkward cocking was something that always looked like an uneconomical movement. I'd like to maybe see some sort of double jointed lever. Such that you pull the level back towards your body and having a smaller range of motion. Maybe with some sort of cam or gear to reduce the effort and movement.
Hallo, vermutlich schon Mal beantwortet worden. Trotzdem die Frage. Hat jemand Weitschusserfahrung mit der Adder + dem 190lbs Venom Extreme ? Würde mich über eine Antwort freuen!
That sight looks interesting. I use the Beast Hunter Open point. It looks similar to the stock one on Adder, but it has top mounted battery housing, red/green light with five brightness settings each and four reticle options (dot/ dot in ring/ cross/ cross in ring).
@@orderofmagnitude-TPATP wouldn't trust it to hold zero under some strong recoil (but that one goes for almost any red dot under 200€), but works well with crossbows, air rifles and .22LR rifles which is what i expect. Never had problem with parallax either unlike that cheap red dot i used before it, that thing could have had the dot painted on and it would work just as bad.
very cool, I wonder if a side handle attached to the reloader arm would increase the speed of reloading without causing the temporary tilt and need to bring the crossbow back to level. It could be removable so it could be switched for left or right hand shooters. Love your videos!
Servus Jörg Wo bekommt man denn genau die adder mit 18 Schussmagazin Wollte ja eigentlich diese von unten ladbare Armbrust aber da hört man nix mehr Danke für Feedback
This is almost the same as i did. Only my hack is one screw that i placed, so it basically does the same thing. But mine has to be screwd out to let the auto lock engage again.
Hm. Can the red dot sight read if the cross bow is prepared to shoot (cocked?) and turn on only when you are actually ready to shoot it? I mean like to read if the string is in the shooting position
Errr... cmon man. A red dot isn't for that. What people dont understand is about red dots in general. You ain't looking for gimmick and features. A good red dot must not have parallax and hold zero. If you don't know what these mean please research about red dots for your own benefit.
What would be the broadheads for Adder that would have pretty much the same trajectory as the "blue" target tips bolts? In other words, if I set up my sights with "blue" bolts, what hunting tips should I buy so that the bolts with those hunting tips will hit roughly at the same place? The distance I'm talking about is up to 20 m (red dot). Is this even possible with Adder?
To be honest: That safety is simply at the entirely wrong spot on these crossbow models. It should be close to or embedded the front grip, as that is the only position where it ensures that you are aiming BEFORE pulling the trigger. You are not going to fire this single-handed in any case. This "hack"? It's a really bad idea. You are disengaging the safety before it's pointing in a "safe" direction again.
I'm curious, would this hack work on the Vlad as well? I just got a Vlad the other day and the safety is the one thing I find annoying about it. Cool video Joerg. Thanks as always.
I think you need to rotate it to be vertical. Would make the urgo's and aesthetics much better, I definety what something like this for mine, along with that mag, please give us a link for the mag, I can't find it anywhere. Your awesome, I love your products, you video's and you. PS I'd love to see some Joerg upgrades for the siege too.
Very cool! I'll be watching for official release. AND, great tip on the V-Life motion sensitive red dot optics. I just ordered the SOLAR (and battery) version.
I’m still a big fan of the hook stock even if you make it a sword tail and only has a hook go under the arm. I’m always worrying I’ll slip while cocking.
Im happy with the "default" safety lock behavior as there definitely IS a little risk of accidental fire - whenever the crossbow is being reloaded, you can by very accidental move activate the trigger by shaking your hand aside (most probable 0.001 percent chance scenario may happen with a fringed long sleeve getting accidentally stuck in the trigger or whatever wonky you wear, may get there and do its Final destiny job). The crossbow than can fire into the air instantly after the reloading what may result in a shot anywhere out of safe area.
I wonder if you could remove that rearmost screw on the magazine to make a flip up version as opposed to a sideways one. If it’s just a bolt and nut perhaps it could be on both sides so ambidextrous.
I've been shooting with index finger on the safety to disengage it right away, whilst having the middle finger on the trigger. This little game changer will make that unnecessary.
