Nice to see Kevin D. Williamson hasn't changed, still shitting on smalltown and middle-Americans in flyover country, and wondering why they don't just pick up and leave like he did. A lot of conservatives went through a sort of crisis of conscience during the Trump/Bernie populist reckoning of 2016. Not Kevin though. Still sticking it to the little guy, as he always has, like a somehow meaner, balder version of J.D. Vance.

To J. Goldberg's reference to "leaning into it." How often in politics do individuals or groups react defensively with the attitude: "Let me act as outrageously as your accusation so you can see just you how reasonable I used to be" or said more concisely: "You want to see crazy? I'll show you crazy." And how often is this then a gateway for radicals to enter and take over?
