1/20/2023 Add in the Carbon Ceramic Brakes and you got pretty close on the MSRP. I was surprised to see them as “Standard Equipment”. I was into my local Dealership 1/19/2023 and found I was the first person to inquire about getting on their ERAY Reservation Request List. So, it’s not the same process as it was in July of 2021 when I found the local dealership had the first person to place down a $5,000 deposit vs going on a wait list. Additionally, the dealership got more allocations last year than expected. They received 8 allocations instead of their typical 1-2. Well, I’m supposed to be the first person (should say we - need to include the wife) on their list for an ERAY Allocation, let’s see how it works out!!!🤔🤞👍👍 As always, Great Job on the Vlog. Awww Yeah... It's Fredday Again...ha ha ha! Fred, News about the E-Ray are exciting indeed! I've watched a couple videos with the C8 Stingray vs the Acura NSX. The Stingray held it's own alot until top end HP took over! Having the E-Ray should be comparable to the NSX Type S. I'm thinking 625 HP with a $92-95k price range. But I like many others, was WAY OFF with the Z06 pricing so...who knows! I do find the new color options for the exterior and interior to be somewhat exciting! Riptide Blue seems to be a brighter version of ELB, which would be nice. Seawolf Gray is interesting as a Tri-Coat, it should be a nice dark Gray with some lighting effects. Cacti 🌵 Green might be of most interest to me! I've never seen the color in person, but am planning on attending the NCM Bash this year, so we should be seeing the new E-Ray and colors in full form in April. 🤔 💭 Since my allocation for the C8 is coming up and due around the 23-24 model year time frame, I'm considering pushing to the 24 models and switching from my 70th Ann. Fred, As you know I too am on the Z06 list. Although the E-Ray sounds interesting, I will remain with my plan for the Z06. Let's face it, I could switch from my spot for the Z06 (which should mean I have mine this year) and then wait an additional year or more for the E-Ray. However, during that additional waiting period info is released about the ZR1 and maybe that sounds even better so I switch to that list, and add another year wait. However, then a year after GM announces the Zora which is too good to pass-up, so let's add another year to the wait. OMG the C9 is the best ever and the wait goes on. Now I have a headache!! Sully

I have, I find those guys just amazing to watch. Funny, articulate, and honestly not taking themselves too seriously. Great video. I was pretty impressed with the acceleration the Z showed. Sure, if they'd gone a bit longer things would have been different, but still a pretty amazing outcome!
Great video! I learned a few more things from you that the other supposed C8 gurus haven't touched on. I'm hoping that the Vette purists will stay away from the E-Ray simply because it's hybrid. That will allow other people like me to get one. I'm not opposed to EV, but we're just not ready as a country for full EVs for everyone. I do believe in the hybridization of every model IF YOU WANT IT! I think we will have a market for ICE for a long time to come.
Hey Johnathan! Glad it was helpful/entertaining! Agreed, just because someone isn't interested in a specific car, doesn't mean GM shouldn't make the car. Plenty of people like all different things, and that's half the fun. Look at the 911 lineup, they slice that pie awfully thin, and sell every single one, telling me that there is demand for all kinds of variations of a good car. I completely agree that ICE cars will be around and produced for a long time. We keep hearing that brands have "committed" to "all EV lineups" in the near futuer, however every seems to forget that brands change their mind at the slightest provocation all the time. When they don't sell, or people hold onto what they have, they'll change. While I like the idea of EV's from a dailydriver perspective, I don't see them as a solution for enthusiast cars, at least not with what's been offered so far. It's a loaded discussion, so I'll leave it at that, but in short I agree with you, and will say that "reports of the death of ICE cars are greatly exaggerated". Have a nice day! -Fred

Another thing this leak didn't answer is what the front motors will do to front trunk luggage space. It's usable but not huge on the RWD platform and it would be unfortunate to lose most or all of that space on the E-Ray. For a long time, Corvette has been a very nice two people + luggage road trip car and while I very much like the idea of the E-Ray, I would have to think hard about whether I'd be willing to give that up.
The E-Ray seems to be what we expected down to the wheels but I'm not sure I like the logo...The E seems to be designed to look like a plug at the end of a wire...lol. Appropriate maybe. I think we might get a pleasant surprise on the power output. We still don't know if it is one or two motors. What I don't like is the body colored trim. Somehow it reminds me of seeing a car that was painted with a house paint roller...everything one color. All that trim in the grill area is just too much. I would need to remove and paint all of it. Let's hope that there is an option to get the trim done in the "standard" carbon flash color. Likely to be a splitter, rockers and rear spoiler in carbon fiber. Of course the easy out would be to order the car painted in carbon flash. I'm not going to let the Cacti bother me anymore than the Caffeine. Since they love to add a questionable color, why don't they just run their finger down the McLaren or Lamborghini color list and throw in one of those as well. Let someone have a bright purple or fluorescent green. And what, no blue calipers to go with the E-Ray blue? It is going to be real interesting once E-Rays start showing up with superchargers and turbos. I wonder if it will be too soon after the Z06's for the "influencers" to score early E-Ray's to modify those cars. Maybe they will be skipped until the ZR1's...assuming that they happen. Or maybe we will see an off road Corvette EV SUV...the Corvette EV that Mark Reuss promised to be coming soon. I don't know how you do it Fred...every week you have a video like clockwork yet you have a responsible full time job, "family", you manage to review all the latest Corvette news plus you got your Christmas shopping done! Haha, your point about it looking like they used a paint roller sums it up (from an aesthetics perspective). Not my cup of tea, but it wouldn't shock me if there are options available, even if 3rd party wraps. I get that they have to differentiate it enough from the Z so people don't mistake the 2. Definitely agree they need both more colors, and some more "wild" colors. This is a fun, over the top car, how about some fun over the top colors to match? I stand by my video from earlier this year that the Corvette program really could benefit from doing their own PTS program, like Porsche does. Getting to your last comment, on clockwork making videos, I really appreciate it. I don't think most people realize how MUCH work it is. The hardest part is honestly coming up with new/different ideas week after week. I keep extensive nodes on what I'm doing, and plan weeks out. If there's good news to cover, then I defer to that usually, but it's a constant battle. I try not to cover the same ground I've covered before, but since I'm heavily in the topic of the Corvette (and specifically the Z06), I feel it gets harder each week. That's a big part of the motivation to branch out to other brands/news. I get that many of my viewers are heavily corvette centric, however there's only so much that you can cover without repeating yourself. Yeah, balancing the time has been a real challenge this fall. I have a lot going on personally right now (good stuff), but it just whittles away any free time I have to make videos, and that's why this year was the first time I had 2 or 3 "no video this week" videos. I'd rather pace myself a bit, and if it feels like a lot just take a week, so I don't burn out. RU-vidr burnout is pretty common, and I'm determined not to have that happen to me. @@FredsFullThrottle I think that making the E-Ray as "unicolor" was a poor way of differentiating it from the Z06. You don't even have to suffer that with the "lesser" Stingray. What they should have done is make the "wishbone" side scoop trim different...like eliminate the "tail". Of course that would cost more in production. Vinyl wrap is not as attractive as paint but if that was going to be done, I suppose you could just do it all as a wrap that looks like carbon fiber...but I also suspect that the aftermarket will make most of these parts in carbon fiber with Z06 in mind for the big spenders who wanted max carbon fiber options. Bottom line...spending a lot of money that should not have been necessary. You likely saw that the Z06 will be offered with an option of body colored trim...but the example did not show it in the grill area which is the worst offender. No rambling...you are posting complete thoughts...I am "guilty" of the same. Much better to post less frequent pertinent info than "click bait" that we see so often. Unfortunately, some of that seems to work for those looking for "numbers". You have a different class of subscriber for the most part.

The last thing on my mind right now is an electric Corvette it’s been 4 model years now and I still can’t get a car as far as I’m concerned when the Corvette does turn electric it’s dead to me I don’t wanna electric car I wanna hear the engine I wanna smell the gas that’s all there is to it
The eray should get 50 mpg on epa rating and no 3 grand gas guzzler tax and accelerate quicker under 100 mph especially with hybrid tq at zero rpm with awd

Hi T Michael! I heard (not sure if it's official or not), that MM got 45 allocations about a week and a half ago, so my guess would be that's the number of orders they were able to put in. That's how many slots my position moved. It was mentioned on MECF, I just didn't get a chance to follow it up to verify the source. Seems plausible, especially to have that big of a drop all at once when there've been months with no drops at all. Have a nice day! -Fred

People want to add the hp or tq of the ice and the electric motors to get a combined figure. That won’t be a meaningful number. Each source will put out different amounts at different rpm. That thinking WILL allow the z06 to show higher absolute figures (essential for marketing) while the ERay has a monstrous street advantage with a better hp/tw curve. Integrate the area under the curves to see the big difference.

The whole “just stumbled into this while putting numbers into the url box” seems unlikely in the extreme. I was sure that is was a planted idea sent by GM. On one of the forums, the discoverer replied and was kind of offended that I said that. I now think that is was just as stated and we saw an early visualizer that will be revealed in full at the ERay announcement at the CES show in January.
Hi Bill! It doesn't seem unlikely to me. I work in the world of computers, and putting features live online, behind an un-cacheable/un-searchable URL is fairly common, especially if no one knows that it'll be there. It's a good way to "test in production". An example of this, is that I have RU-vid videos live on the public internet, that you need to have the URL to access. Anyone can technically access them, but unless you know the string at the end, no one will ever find it. This is even simpler, because it wasn't some randomized hash of characters in the URL, it was literally just changing a 3 to a 4. I've definitely played around with URL injection on various websites, and there's frequently things right there, that people just don't know about. For example, lots of car news websites have their images tucked away behind rendering and menus so you can't get a copy of the high res version. But, with a little playing around, you can get all the super high res versions of the images. I think poking around a manufacturers website is an easy way to see if there's anything to look at. I will say, from a development perspective, it's not a great practice to "hide" a page behind plain sight, but it is a common practice. At least locking it behind an IAM auth mechanism would be a lot safer if they don't want anything shared. Either way, to me at least, this feels accidental. They were so careful to hide the car, and not speak a whisper about it before the initial reveal video, that it seems completely counter-intuitive to "leak" it intentionally. I'm not a marketing person, but given how carefully GM guards their products, this likely is jut an oversight. Have a nice day! -Fred
Thanks Fred - another great video. I have been on an ERAY list for over a year. My primary wish was for a Z06 body, electric front motor(s), over 600 hp, and better mpg (mpge) over the SR. If GM covers these points, I will sell my 2019 GS and order an ERAY. If not, I will keep my GS. Hoping to see the ERAY in person at the 2023 Bach, as I did the Z06 this year.
