Understand the things I say Don't turn away from me 'Cause I spent half my life out there You wouldn't disagree D'you see me, d'you see Do you like me, do you like me standing there D'you notice, d'you know Do you see me, do you see me Does anyone care? Unhappiness, where's when I was young And we didn't give a damn 'Cause we were raised To see life as a fun and take it if we can My mother, my mother she'd hold me Did she hold me, when I was out there My father, my father, he liked me Oh he liked me, does anyone care? Understand what I've become It wasn't my design And people everywhere think Something better than I am But I miss you, I miss 'Cause I liked it, 'cause I liked it When I was out there D'you know this, d'you know You did not find me, you did not find Does anyone care? Unhappiness was when I was young And we didn't give a damn 'Cause we were raised To see life as fun and take it if we can My mother, my mother she'd hold me Did she hold me, when I was out there My father, my father, he liked me Oh he liked me, does anyone care? Does anyone care? Does anyone care? Does anyone care? Does anyone care? Does anyone care? Does anyone care? Does anyone care?
What a talent. All those singers from those years - Natalie Merchent, Annie Lennox, Sarah MacLaughlin, Kate Bush, and Allison Morissette - all beautiful and heart-wrenching voices.
Delores is simply awesome. She gave me chills the first time I heard her on the radio. What a great unusual voice. This fine lady is the real deal. She still gives me chills and that warm feeling remembering back on my life. This song takes me back to the same place I was the first time I heard it.Driving through Burns Park in NLR Arkansas in my brand new Mustang GT with a new Kenwood stereo with 2 12 inch subwoofers and 800 watts of Kenwood .Man I miss those days of being younger. Thanks Delores!
I was 7 years old when I first heard this. I couldn't understand everything, I just knew I liked it. I'm a nineties kid. I miss the quality of the song, the music, the lyrics, and the voice, especially the voice. It's so hard, so hard to find songs like this.
This song has always given me chills. It gives me such an empty feeling inside... like what am I doing on this earth. Makes me think of the past. Makes me think that stuff at this moment arent as horrible as they could be.
Beautiful and so sad...look at the 90's music : so much talent and great songs and singers . It will never be so deep and heartbroken like it was in the 90's .
It's amazing to go back and watch her perform this song throughout the years as her voice aged. Rest in peace to one of the best female vocalists to ever hit the stage. It takes a true artist like her to put her pain and hurt into words and then deliver them with such emotion that it allows us to feel, and deal with some of our own emotional pain for a few minutes. Hard to believe I was 15 when this was recorded. Time marches on.
The band and Dolores' vocals were at their fullest. Notice how the crowd didn't quite know the song at the time... We could call it the dawn of a great hit. By far my favourite Cranberries' song.
thank God for a woman like her and her talent! Her songs are stil UNIC, filled with passion, making the listener 's emotion whirling ! Cranberries is one of those Bands whose work will survive the musicions, and in the future will echo their greatness! They are not (MAD)MASS Products, not one summer songs !
Losing you 8 months ago and today is the same. It was my youngster era when I was listening to Nirvana, Cranberries, Pearl Jam, Sound Garden, Sonic Youth, etc...yet it was the best time of music industry revolution. Love u Dolores.
my glory days blessed by great musicians 90's we all know that years gone by but history lives forever.....life inspired by music is the precious one...
Klasse!
I met a lad in Sydney in 2000, he told me he was a waiter at Dolores' wedding. She was really nice to the staff and gave them a huge tip afterwards. Just thought i'd share that with you!
m encantaaaaaaaaa........ojala pudiera tener yo a mi madre para poder abrazarla y decirle cuanto la quierooooooooooo.............y x cosas d la vida a mi padre no lo tengo cerca....amo a mi familia........
1997 we meet again. Grew up with this song and many others. My only regret was not knowing the names of the songs back then. Come back my 6 year old self.
awesome ! the best song ever ... when I was young I really didn't give a dam life was sweet. If I could only see my uncle's Alvin, leonard and Melvin, friend Warren, cousin Laverne and Mark. I would give anything this song makes you cry thus you cleanse.... Delores you are all that please give a concert in the US...I cry happy tears with this song..
Delores was and still is Great. No one has ever had a voice like hers. She was trained in classical music, has that cute Irish accent, she rocks besides being a beautiful lady inside and out. I can tell thier are 23 brain dead people on you tube. When I was young my father taught me there are 2 kinds of music, just 2. They are good and bad.He is so right. I dont care much for Elvis, not my style. But can anyone deny the great talent Elvis was?It dont have to be your thing to understand greatness.
esta musica marca uma parte da minha vida que estava descobrindo uma epoca colorida que hoje sinto muitas saudades,eu gostaria de oferecer ela ameus amigos comoprova daminha total amizade
Goes to prove the artist does no have to dance and prance about on stage half naked with fireworks to be good. Sing well, play well, have good material, and they can stand in front of the mike mostly static abnd it will be an amazing performance.
