Wow even visually inside that beast, compared to the first video, how much less 80's Russian nuclear power plant looking it is🤣 that tone after you've fixed it truly is great .

I came across you first on tone talk. I was just wondering how do you internally jumper a 1970 Marshall major... I watch you video I subscribe as well. I just dig your work and i'd like your attitude about stuff.❤
@HeadfirstAmps
@HeadfirstAmps 2 месяца назад
Thanks man! You can internally jumper a 4 hole Marshall by simply connecting the grids on V1 together. That’s pin 2 and pin 7.

Which Rotary impedance selector did you use? I was doing the same thing recently to a 1974 JMP and ended up with one from TAD with a small black cover plate that was a direct fit. But I'm curious about what alternatives I could've used.

Hey Jason, Been dying to ask if you've ever seen the insides of a Folkesson modded Marshall? I heard he changes a lot in there but I never knew anything definite and that could be hearsay.
@BigTrouble324

I rebuilt an Folkesson moddet Ampeg VT-40 back to stock, and it was a total nightmare. Everything was wired differently, lots of cut pcb traces, and most of the preamp was butchered. It looked like a crow's nest. When finally put together the right way, it sounded fucking awesome!

What amazes me is how "little" gain is actually used compared to modelers. If I were to drop the gain this low on a modeled amp, it would sound thin and weak. Although you seem to have great knowledge.................as a digital guy I still don't trust you. It truly can't be this simple........with all due respect. The rig I have versus the rig you have..........simple is your credence. Complexity and options are mine. I want the secret. I want to know how to dial in this tone in a digital platform. (helix) I have all the options and all the parameters. Yet you have the tone......

You're trying to reproduce the amp the delivered our favourite music through the late 60s, 70s and 80s. Give up, get the real thing and be done with it!
@PerfectCircle91

@@HeadfirstAmpsRight? I don't get it either, and I've absolutely tried all digital options to test the hype and it's just not there for me either as it's a feel/under the fingers things as well as a sonic thing. Spot on Jason, and I LOVE your channel and the fact you share your knowledge so freely with those of us that seek it 😂😂😂. Keep doing your awesome stuff dude!

@@HeadfirstAmps so you are telling me, with over an INFINITE amount of adjustments and characterizations that there is NO way for me to reproduce this tone, digitally? Love the content. I think that the tube guys hold the secrets to getting good tone with digital. They just won't share.
@HeadfirstAmps
@HeadfirstAmps 3 месяца назад
@benburnett8109 what you’re missing is the live interaction with the guitar, the feedback loop. An electric guitar without an amp is just a piece of wood with strings on it. In my view our ‘instrument’ is actually the electric guitar and tube amp working together as one. It’s been that way since the 1930s.
