Finally, someone explained those buttons (and other features) in only a few minutes. Not even on their website they bothered to give a good explanation. Good video, no fluff, just the information.

Loving this mouse for general use, and especially my mmo gaming, perfect for casual playing & the "straight finger clicking" helps alot. The tilt right/left is especially helpful to change hotbars/targets ingame.

@jamesducharme1711 Год назад
@@rodrigor.martinelli5053 I've had mine for roughly 3 or 4 years, only thing that's changed since I got it is the mouse wheel, it still works like normal but it's kinda loose (front to back, not side to side) which is only really apparent when I rest my finger on it. According to the kickstarter for the Z2, the Z's middle mouse button was prone to deteriorating, so it might be a problem for anyone who uses middle mouse click often, but I rebound that to the paddle above LMB forever ago because it's way easier to press
@wi1dcard192
@wi1dcard192 6 лет назад
Dude I've been using this mouse for over a year lmao it came at $150 on kickstarter Now Frank, I love you but you got one thing wrong here: this is *not* a gaming mouse. It is not intended to be one. It is geared towards 3d modelers and other power users and being good at some games is just a side affect. They do mention that this is great for gamers but it's not their selling point. That aside, some cool things you can do with it: 1) Set a trigger button so that holding it down and moving the mouse left and right switches tabs in a browser 2) create an absurd computer password and make an obscure macro on your mouse to type it 3) make any button a sniper button. No seriously you can even make left and right click sniper buttons. 4) the counter to #3, you can make any button a "dpi clutch" like the razer basilisk (pretty sure that's what it's called) 5) set actions in games that are normally toggle to be held actions: for example you can have the down press of the side mouse button to be the build menu in fortnite and the release will hit Q again so that the build menu is only active while you hold the button. 6) use gyros to change profiles on the fly 7) offload some of your keyboard actions to your mouse in games so that load is more evenly distributed across left and right (I bound ultimate, melee, ultimate status, communications menu, and spray to my mouse in Overwatch) 8) set a macro on your mouse to put your desktop pc to sleep with one click 9) save profiles to the mouse and carry it around to use on other computers, including macs, chromebooks, even android phones over an otg cable. 10) use any key on the mouse as a modifier for all other buttons (like a shift key) 11) use gyros to rotate a 3d object in modeling software like inventor 12) tilt the mouse slightly to one side to use the scroll wheel for horizontal scroll Well I hope this helped you understand this piece of tech better, it's by far the best mouse I've used for general purpose and productivity. It's not intended for gaming but it does a stellar job at it.

Not intended to be a gaming mouse? I think the website and box art would lead people to believe its selling point is a gaming mouse.
@wi1dcard192
@wi1dcard192 3 года назад
@Firstname Lastname swift point started marketing it for gaming (and even released a new cut down gaming only version - the tracer) once they got out into the wild and started getting snapped up by gamers. Originally, the marketing was much more geared towards productivity with a couple mentions of neat gaming tricks, like a joystick for flight sims or analog throttle in racing games. Gaming was just a passing remark.

moo Do you have a specific reason to dislike this mouse or are you just being contrarian? Pressure sensitivity could be extremely useful for a graphic designer that primarily uses a mouse instead of a stylus, like me, and additional keymapping is always a nice option. Had this mouse, it doesn’t actually act as a 4 way joystick while lying flat. It needs the rounded attachment which removes the pointer. It also gets warm and causes your hand to sweat. Trigger buttons are impossible to hit accurately in intense situations. It was also bugged where left tilt would get stuck even though your mouse was flat. Overall a great concept but needs a v2 that focuses on making intense use easier.

The flat surface on the right is not for the pinky finger, it's for the ring finger. It's short and far. That's what makes it so great, you have your pinky free to push on the mouse mat for better precision.

@JesseArt
@JesseArt 6 лет назад
I love the extra features of this mouse with the pressure sensitivity and the gyroscope, but I just need more buttons. There's a lot of unused space for the thumb. If this had an "easy shift" thumb button similar to the Roccat Tyon that could double the functionality of all the topside switches or just more buttons in the thumb space similar to that of the Roccat Nyth, Razor Naga Trinity, Logitech G600s, etc. then I could justify purchasing it. My current gaming peripherals are the Razor Orbweaver paired with the Roccat Nyth (9 side buttons with scroll wheel click as easy shift). When playing games like Arma 3, I have my Orbweaver set up with the top thumb button as a modifier key that switches between 2 separate profiles, two of the thumb buttons on my Nyth are modifiers (L Ctrl, Alt), which allow me to add even more functionality to each of those profiles, and the easy shift on my scroll wheel click effectively doubles my 9 side buttons on the Nyth. The sad thing? I still need more buttons! lol. My ideal mouse, or any peripheral for that matter, would utilize software similar to that of the Steam Controller, allowing the user to create in-game menus and "action sets" to switch between (ex. infantry, vehicle, air, SCUBA, etc.) The software is THE key here. Allow for separate functions based on more than just pressure. Long presses with adjustable time release points for different functions, double taps, tap and holds, etc., these are what make the Steam controller software truly revolutionary (if people actually took the time to learn it). I love my Steam Controller, but for games like Arma 3, I still can't break away from a mouse and keypad/board. These devices are only limited by their software though. You could massively force multiply the functionality of this mouse if you paired it with Steam-like software...and added a few more thumb buttons. Do that, and I'll happily pay $250+ for this thing.
@Danimal719
@Danimal719 6 лет назад
This mouse can do exactly what you're describing and is amazing for Arma 3. There are 13 buttons and 5 of those have 'deep click', which gives you a minimum of 18 different buttons (and you can set 2 or more pressures to each 'deep click' button) + the tilt functions. Add to that the fact that ANY of the inputs (including the two thumb buttons and tilt etc) can profile switch, act as an "easy shift" or modifier key, you have a ridiculous amount of customization available. As you point out, the software is key and it's super powerful. I have this mouse and use all 13 buttons, 4 of the 'deep click' buttons and the two thumb buttons as modifiers so I can use most of the 13 buttons again. I wouldn't be without it now.
@JesseArt
@JesseArt 6 лет назад
Danimal719 Thanks for the insight! I really do love the idea of this mouse, so I'm happy to hear the software isn't garbage. That's been my biggest frustration with other mice like the Roccat Tyon and Nyth. Love the physical designs, but the software is just so buggy and limiting. With as much money as I've spent on other mice trying to find the right fit for this game, I could probably get two of these things. I wonder if they could add in-game overlay menu options though like the Steam software. That is something I really enjoy with the Steam controller. Creating custom menus to easily access devices like short and long range radios in TFAR frees up a lot of button real estate on the controller. Once you get used to that functionality, you just want it on all your more preferred peripherals, I guess. Maybe it's wishful thinking, but maybe these guys could seek Steam support for this input device. Or, could develop their own in-game menu system to add to their own software as I figure they might not want to partner with Steam. Anyway, thanks again for your insight. I definitely need to do some more research.
@Acecool
@Acecool 5 лет назад
Maybe, but the issue is the thumb is left pretty much with nothing to do... I would like to see an easy-shift button too, then forward / backward buttons for browser, in addition to the up / down buttons which are there - although turning it into something different would be better... Also, a joystick instead of a scroll-wheel, would also be amazingly helpful for professional users and gamers alike... There are so many features missing. I sometimes use the easy-shift on my tyon for voice chat, and sometimes I don't. I can't use the top flipper really since it is poorly designed. The thumb-joystick software is TERRIBLE. It doesn't work in ANY game, except maybe 1.. In most games it isn't even recognized, so I had to set it to a static key press for it to register.. None of the X / D game buttons work at all either on the Tyon. The software is terrible.. Logitech software is terrible too - and on both if you bind a key on the mouse to something, it doesn't work in some games. For instance, GTA V or Mafia 3, if you want to hide in the car, using the Tyon or Logitech mouse buttons do not work as it spams them instead of holds them down.. I can't recall what I used to resolve the issue ( aside from not playing the game )... but meh.. I am thinking of getting the swiftpoint mouse, but without the thumb being utilized, it seems like a waste until the next revision.
@Xedhadeaus
@Xedhadeaus 6 лет назад
First I was going to complain about the price, but elite controllers used to be 140 so I get it. I guess the hardest part of this mouse in theory is probably never being able to properly panic. If it has a hotkey button you can use, it would be pretty great, better than basic mouse until you hit or hold something. But actually. There are way too many mice that do nothing but rgb or whatever with the whole 7 extra button stuff that is over 100. So this is clearly the better value. I kind of hope this becomes one of your daily drivers, so you can elaborate on it more.
@srda101
@srda101 6 лет назад
This mouse seems like it would be okay for many different games. That being said, I think there will always be a better option, no matter what you play. For flight sim's you're better off using a dedicated flight stick, for driving games you're going to be better off using a racing wheel (or even a controller), for fps games you're going to better off using a mouse that's lighter with a better shape and standard buttons etc. All in all I can't see this mouse suiting many people despite all these features, especially given that price point.

Hmm, pressure sensitive buttons with push/pull instead of normal mouse buttons will become the norm, I'm completely sure that the moment a mouse is made without the normal mouse buttons but rather a tilted linear short distance slide and click for left/right click that will start to take over within gaming.

Personally, I'm skeptical about having additional buttons under your fingers, especially with a longer mouse. Better design would probably have those additional buttons over the tip of the mouse or to the sides of the main two buttons, still within finger reach, but not something that's easily accidentally actuated, especially with the variable actuation of the main two buttons. A thumb scroll would also be a nice addition to the mouse.
@ysph
@ysph Год назад
yeah. there are different botton tops that you can use and you can also reverse those buttons to turn them backwards too, so you can cause or prevent them being struck by your fingers while you're pressing the normal mouse buttons. there's like these big paddle ones that almost ensure youll hit them because there's thing you can do to make the paddle your ADS key, and you'll ADS by trying to fire unless you try not to. all sorts of stuff. maybe the hold breath key, or a DPI switch there. or maybe select fire? guns guns.. i'm guns obsessed. obviously it switches your paint palette or whatever females murder folks with.

i mean as far as i can see there is literally not a single thing that this mouse can not do in a game you can pretty much play entire games with just the mouse by itself, i have never seen a mouse like this before i mean $230 is completely reasonable for this mouse to be honest and i honestly never thought i would ever be able to justify $230 for a mouse, but it is on that level in my opinion

What's new in the 2023 model?
@snappednano
@snappednano Год назад
@@randomfrankp It’s essentially the same mouse with less features to my understanding. However, there’s a second coming of the Swiftpoint Z that’s been given the name Swiftpoint Z2, you should get your hands on it when it releases on July.
@swiftpointglobal
@swiftpointglobal 2 месяца назад
Hey @@randomfrankp and @snappednano I hope you are both well. Just to make you aware, TRACER was released back in 2020 and was created as the original Swiftpoint Z's younger sibling with a few fewer features, catering to a slightly different market. We are now onto the Swiftpoint Z2, which completed crowdfunding back in 2023 and was released for retail sales in February of this year. It sold out in just over a month and also went viral on both Instagram and TikTok. Which there is now a long line of people waiting to get their hands on the next batch. The Swiftpoint Z2 shell and most of the internals have stayed the same as the original Swiftpoint Z. This was a conscious decision from us here at Swiftpoint as the demand for the Swiftpoint Z range of mice to return was overwhelming. The most significant upgrade for the Z2 is the new and improved PIXart PAW3395 26k Sensor (the original was a 12k sensor). We have also introduced new and improved firmware and software for the Z2. Aesthetic changes include new transparent buttons for the edge buttons and long fingertip caps. The Z2 is now branded with the Swiftpoint logo as part of our initiative to consolidate our range of mice under one cohesive brand - Swiftpoint! I hope all of the above information helps. More information can be found on our RU-vid channel and our website. @randomfrankp, we would love to connect with you again and send you a Swiftpoint Z2 to take for a spin. Any other questions? I'd love to answer them. Cheers, Sean and the Swiftpoint Team

Thank you for the feedback @Taiottavios. We have no set release date for it but we are working on a wireless version for the Swiftpoint Z range of mice. You also may not be aware but the Swiftpoint Z2 was released back in 2023 for crowdfunding and then for retail in February of this year to which it sold out in over a month. We are opening back orders for the second batch this coming wednesday, June 5th via our website. Cheers Swiftpoint.

I'd highly recommend the g502, it's specifically better for higher dpi players (because of the weight), but I didn't have any problem with it for a couple years at about 35 cm/360. It's a great "all-rounder" mouse, but the weight is a potential drawback if you are used to a lighter mouse. I have since upgraded to a g900, and I have been ecstatic with it's performance. But, it comes with a price. Oh, and Rocket Jump Ninja is a great place to look too.

Stop saying this is like a G502 on steroids, you nincompoops. It is not. It has a flared thumb rest and it's a black mouse with a lot of programmable buttons; that's where the similarity ends. It's kind of like saying Robocop is a police officer on steroids. The Swiftpoint Z is a far superior product in that it doesn't almost always break within a few months. A weightlifter can pump himself up with all the steroids he wants, but how much is he going to be able to bench press when his arm permanently breaks?
