Other than a few weak CGI spots it absolutely still holds up, and still has one of the most banging soundtracks of all time.

Brandon Lee was also martial arts expert. It made his fighting so much better than they could get with anyone else.
@totalmovierecall

@@tonyc8752 what I've always appreciated, is that they could of really over done it with "spin-kicks" and made Eric some sort of arse kicking superhero JUST to show Brandon Lee's skills off. I'm glad they choose to dumb it down abit, he's more rocker than ninja

yes, most actors in hollywood that time needed stunt doubles and the hand to hand combat was always trash, those guys like arne and sly had muscle but brandon was a real martial artist like his father and you can see, this is a film were he didn't want to go the martal arts way. he said in a interview , this something different and this is very dark and deep. It isn't a fairytale but something dark and Brandon understood what it would do for the future of movie making

Please, please, please read the graphic novel. The 1994 kept the essence of the spirit of that story... tragedy, loss, pain, retribution and a love stronger than death... There are differences to be sure, but where it truly matters, the source material is honored, and the emotional resonance is maintained.... Thank you for your review.

Great review 👍😎I say this as an OG fan 😉👍 I'm 43, I watched this movie on its first showing, on it's opening day in 1994, and still got the original promotional swag from it😉👍they used to do that at theaters back then🤣🤣 first movie I ever saw multiple times in theater too, I saw it 3 times 😎👍at that particular time of my life, and that particular moment in time, I thought it was the greatest movie ever made ❤️👍 still in my top 10 today 😜 RIP Brandon Lee 🙏❤️ j

Great review man. I STILL need to watch my 4k that's just gathering dust on the shelf. This video has made me get it watched this weekend. After what I'm reading about the remake I might aswell watch this cult classic instead.

Thanks Paul mate. 4k looked stunning, definitely a worthy upgrade 👌. The remake...woof 🤦‍♂️. One thing I am going to do, is get on is the comic. Before doing this, I thought they had took some liberties with the comic but it seems by the look of it at least it was pretty faithful! Thanks again mate 👍

I worked on the movie the Crow and the movie was inspired by Tim Burton style especially from Batman returns and the Crow actually inspired The matrix and other movies to follow! And it inspired John wicks character! R.I.P Brandon Lee the son of the legendary Kung Fu martial artist The Great Bruce Lee!

I was obsessed with this movie, when I was young 🤣🤣🤣 It always annoyes me, how so many people say this film has no memorable quotes. WTF it has so many. My personal favorite “Victims, arent we all.” I do get why there is so little exposure on Shellys character in the movie. In this corrupted, broken and violent world, she is this almost ethernal, angelic presence and therefore, what happens to her seems even more brutal. The main theme always makes me tear up. And the last scene in the cementary is one of the most beautiful, romantic and tragic one the film history for me.

Amazing! You covered every little yummy detail that someone may not of known ( the fact they were considering black and white and his body double) and also the comparison of the red sky in Batman animated series and the relentless water on set is something I hadn’t even noticed before. The magic Alex Proyas created between the crow and dark city is really something to note,Dark city is criminally underrated. rest in peace beautiful Brandon Lee ❤ forgot how truly amazing this film is! Amazing review as always! ❤

I read the comic book many times and have watched the movie many MANY times, they're both excellent. There's some differences, but I feel like the changes were necessary to tell a more cohesive story with more depth. The reboot sucked.

... The crow is a weird one... despite the bizarre online fanaticism that surrounds this movie, I have quite literally never one singular time in 47 years of being alive ever once heard a human being talk about it mention it caught a line from it. Nothing never once I've never seen it playing at someone's house when I came over never seen it on TV in really any shape or form anywhere and almost never see merchandise outside of maybe a thrift store or like an Ollies or something .... Weird

@totalmovierecall Месяц назад
@@LadyBits2023 I think the on set tragedy probably has a big part to play in the "online fanaticism" about the movie... not to mention its just a awesome movie. Great visuals, great soundtrack, awesome protagonist, and Micheal Wincott. I mean.. whats not to love here. But i do agree on some level, my brother (40s) who is into the movies on relatively basic level has never seen this movie. In the UK, it was never on tv alot growing up... if ever. I never remember seeing it. I was about 15/16 when I first watched it. Speaks to me on many levels when it comes to aspects I enjoy about movies, especially the 90s.

It’s my favourite movie. But, I don’t really talk about movies, except with other people who have watched it. My family has heard me and my oldest son talk about it, but I’ve rarely mentioned it to anyone else. Except in the theatre, I’m not sure I’ve ever watched it during daytime. A lot do people seem to watch it annnually, onnor around Devil’s Night it Halloween. I’m. It surprised you’ve never walked in on anybody watching it. As for merch, I don’t know how much there was, but it’s a cult classic and it’s 30 years old. People who have merch probably hold on lot it, but it’s not like Spider-Man or Batman or whatever-merch isn’t going to available literally everywhere.

@@6li8storm40 .. yeah and I've heard other people say it's their favorite movie as well but like I said, I've never ever once seen someone watching it. I've never heard anyone mention an interesting scene from the movie. I've never heard anyone quote line from the movie. Nor T-shirt nor poster or ever seen like the DVD case sitting on someone shelf... it's just kind of weird.....

@@LadyBits2023 Well, I had a poster up for years. I still have it, but my husband isn’t a fan, so it’s not on the wall. (Hmm…now that I’m thinking about it, maybe I’ll put it up in the music area in the basement.) I think the fact that people don’t talk about it much is just that it’s a bit niche. I told a guy yesterday that it’s my favourite movie, and he also liked it, so we chatted about it for a minute. But, my cousin was there, and she hadn’t seen it so, we dropped it. Mostly, I just don’t really mention it, because most people don’t seem to know it.
