I was 15 when the original came out. I loved the graphic novels before that. That movie stands as one of the greatest movies ever made in my mind. I saw the 2nd movie on the release date and dressed as Eric Draven. This movie is not The Crow, its a Crow type movie
eh, the original trailer hits pretty much all the same points as well. honestly having gone back and watched a lot of trailers from the 80s/90s for nostalgia, they were just as bad about summarizing the whole film as trailers are today. We were just not paying that much attention back then apparently.
the song should've kicked in at the Lionsgate logo, right after they died, instead of at the very beginning. It doesn't really fit well with the opening sequence while their lives are still "happy". Having the song kick in when he's now dead, and we have the supernatural imagery begin to fill in, would've given it a much better tone.
@@happyninja42I just wanted to get the Cure in as quick as possible😄 but your idea would have made a 'proper' sounding trailer - much better impact. That dialogue at the start is terrible, was covering it up !
@@AlternativeGuitars yeah, and the sort of spooky, ethereal notes that start the song, would've synched up better (i think) with the underwater shot of him swimming down, the panning skyline, etc. the more mystical dialogue of...whoever that black guy with the dread is supposed to be. But it's still a nice clip, regardless.
The true masterpiece of the original, the soundtrack omg. I think this will be decent enough. I hope we get more of the scope of the "Crow-verse". It seems they are leaning into a supernatural confrontation more here than the original.
They've pretty much revealed the whole movie in 3mins in a trailer. Supposedly an "adaptation" of the comic book. His tattoos are so odd in this, and the Suicide Squad Joker looking "Crow" is just ... hmmmm.@@AlternativeGuitars
Yup I gave up 30mins in on Suicide Squad. I'll be watching the original Crow movie this weekend again, been listening to the soundtrack at work today@@AlternativeGuitars
I'm willing to give this one a shot. But I'm still a die hard fan of the original. Brandon Lee's memory lives forever. I read that back in 2015; they were going to make a female version of the Crow.
This is not what I wanted. This had to be truest gothic with a post punk/darkwave soundtrack. The Aesthetic is completely wrong🙁 This edit is better adding The Cure but we all know the actual soundtrack is nothing like this.
Looks fine, but not having the crow in proper make-up is a huge miss. That choice really kills so much of the movie for me. It's a shame too, because I feel like if the Crow reboot was successful, we might get adaptations for some of the other series, particularly Skinning the Wolves.
the impression i got from the trailer, is that "the crow" makeup is supposed to represent him manifesting the supernatural powers he was given? so that it's only going to pop up in moments of extreme stress and violence. not just always on because it's literally facepaint the character put on as part of his persona. I'm kind of ambivalent on that detail personally, as I always found the look of the crow makeup a bit....meh I guess? Even back in the 90s it didn't really do much for me as an aesthetic.
What the fuck is happening, this is so disjointed and weird. Its almost like this The Crow remake is a soulless cash grab for a flailing Hollywood to hopefully make a few bucks off of.
This is the kind of joke you get when writers don't have an original bone in their body... What's up next gang? Let's ruin the breakfast club you unoriginal jokes!
