Honestly windtrace with the new updates to it and the rythm game event feel like they'll be permanant someday, since they did say they are looking for a way to make events pemanent and because, but that they just didn't think the events are good enough for it at the point they were at.
Not happening. Genshin will never add, at least not Combat, end game content. Story is good. Sometimes a new character to shake up Meta / Teams. That’s it basically. And Abyss is a little challenging from time to time if some special mechanics / elemental DPS Check is done. But 36* are not hard at all in 95/100 abyss cycles.
I would really like tower defense like mode or waves mode as a long form content. Maybe we could get 4 people coop on this. And apart from moving 1 character per player let us place our other characters in towers or something and use their skills. And at first I could have rewards but later on just never ending hard content!
filler patch is natural to all live service games and it's good to other players who never do their activities to their games like quest and exploration(Its good to game devs too to take a rest remember their are not robot). It's good to some players to take a rest to the game if they done the activities to it. Remember every live service games you must have a high patience to play it because is very very slow pace
Those "filer" patches are a rest for players and developers. For me, I do task that skip because I had sudden priorities like unexpected very fun new characters like Navia or Chiori. From my point of view I am not sure if create a weapon banner currency would help like on Snowbreak contamination zone I do play tcg . It's fun but wish all characters has more HP than 10 so can play longer Playing Genshin solo is kinda boring. Better play with friends if possible. Everything is more fun
Genshin could do a one year filler patch, then Genshit players will still say like "Well, those 1 year filler patch is intended because Hoyo cares about their players to make them rest!" Literally, Genshit players deserve how Hoyo is treating them
Unfortunately, the endgame content primos are gonna directly take away from spiral abyss (spiral abyss will only reset once a month to keep the rewards basically the same)
