I put off watching this, because I knew what was going to happen. I didn't grow up with cockroaches, my brother talked about them when he moved to an area that had them and I saw "pacific heights" but I was unprepared when I went to Hawaii. I saw my kaamaina friend hit one with a piece of firewood; abdomen discolored, I thought it was dead. No. I loved the characterizations, particularly the gecko and cockroach; you are so good at that. Roaches are bad, but I always found the centipedes to be scarier..when we lived on Makakilo Hill back in Hawaii, we lived in a house that was next to an area where Alot of bugs were. Because the house wasn't insulated well, we would get 747s, mice, rats, spiders and centipedes. Those centipedes were the scariest for me.
You SO funny Andy! Okay, I get one cockaroach story that my friend told me years ago. She was from Guam and married one local boy (who turned out to be one jerk because he fooled around later, but thas one nuddah story). At first the newly weds rented one small apartment on the 2nd floor and she was warned about the B52 cockaroaches because he was already paranoid about them. So one day, one B52 was in their little apartment and when she saw it, she screamed and called out his name so he could help get rid of it. She kept screaming his name, screaming his name and the cockaroach got all excited and took to the air and flew right at her husband, so then he started screaming and they started running around and in the process knocked over their couch and made all kine racket. Not sure what happened to the roach, but after awhile they calmed down and stopped screaming. The place was turned upside down and they were all frazzled looking from their panic attack. Then, they heard one knock at the door. Was the neighbor from downstairs. He told them, "I know that you guys are still honeymooning, but can you guys keep it down?!?!" Ho - they was so shame. But, what you going do, yeah?

OMG! I can totally relate to the 747 story. Small kid time, we'd just moved in to our new house in Pearl City, and one night there was a 747 on the dining room wall. The buggah came flying at me, and I turned to run, and the ting wen land on my back. I could feel it's legs through my tshirt. I wen scream so loud, they must've heard me down at Foodland. So scarred for life!
I visited the big island last week. It was my first time in Hawaii. I came with 3 other couples, and we decided to go to eat one evening. It was an outside restaurant overlooking the water. One of the 747s came out of no where and landed on our table! Everyone was freaking out except me and the local waitress! We have huge ones like that here in Georgia but they don't fly! This 747 land on this local girl. She never missed a beat, took our order, excused herself and went and took care of it 😂 that girl was mean eh?! I love your show Andy!! God bless you braddah
I went to the Chinese New Years celebration in downtown. While watching the festivities, I saw about 8 to 10 big 747s in the street. Don't know if they were watching or putting in their own show too.
Besides nailing B52's with a rubber slipper, the other local way to kill a roach is with CRC Brakleen in the RED can! Best , prices are at Don Quixote on sale for $2.99 a can, unless you can get a good case price at NAPA, O'Reily's, or CarQuest.
i remember dis one time i had one broke leg and was going into the batroom and when i wen turn around to close the door da roach when run at me and i tried for close the door but fell down in the bath tub and the roach wen crawl into the bathroom and stopped at the tub.when scare me
When I was in Hawaii me and my family when on a ghost tour. And when we got home we turned on the light for the kitchen and my mom froze in terror by the 747. I had to take care of it....
I thought you were going to say and on the ghost tour they were talking about a ghost story and the roach landed in my kids hair and they screamed ahhhhh the ghost got me!!!!
