“Balance is Key” is so very true. And considering all the “variables”…eg : your mention of malabsorbtion. That’s such an important factor, often affected by genetics. Supplementation is a huge money-spinning business and also a confusing mess! Here in the UK, so many health stores and supermarkets are peddling vitamins / minerals of poor quality that are also badly regulated. That’s worth remembering and (as you say); best just to try to eat as well as you can! Another superbly researched and presented summary.
Yes, only go for the supplements that are needed. The quality is a very big concern - after all, these tablets come from some laboratory and they are not 100% pure, that is usually impossible to achieve. I am planning to open my own supplement company in the future, that way I could provide everyone with the most important information needed - the purity of each batch and from what ingredients i made it. But until then, we gotta hope that whatever we are taking is not poisoning us more than helping. Thanks for the long and thoroughly written comment🙂
Great video. I took way too much zinc and it threw my copper/cerruloplasm out of balance. IT also lowered my ferretin causing non-anemic iron deficiency. been so tired, high heart rate, trouble sleeping, headaches.
I found this not to be accurate, that supplementation is not necessary. I could not get much zinc from my food at all. so i took zinc 50 mg/day for a week. I noticed a great increase in energy, and as i play tennis i found a great increase in strength with the zinc. suddenly i was hitting ace after ace after ace!! and overhead slams and fast sideline shots, and i was able to DOUBLE my playing endurance also! its hard on the stomach so I cut the pills in half, eat half my supper, take the half or quarter pill then eat the rest of my dinner or breakfast. much easier that way. i will never now b without my zinc pills!
Why didn't you mention copper supplement what? Why didn't you mention copper supplement? You just overlooked it and mentioned it, but you didn't mention it. Supplement and how to get it, and what is the best supplement for it? What's going on here? Did you have amnesia?
Hi thanks for your comment. You can get in the form of copper glycinate or gluconate. If you are deficient in it you should feel an increase of energy for the day when taking it. Take around 1-2mg when supplementing it and stop the supplementation when you do not feel an increase in energy. You can get copper from potatoes, shiitakee mushrooms and dark chocolate. I don't recommend the rest due to them having a lot of zinc aswell or being polluted aka. seafood.
