I dunno. Anecdotally, when I eat late at night, I definitely don't feel hungrier in the morning. If anything it's easier to skip breakfast.

I feel like that's the kind of information that is barely helpful for anyone. All these kind of "advices" have this "you really should stuff like this otherwise it won't work" undertone. What I ended up doing was feeling bad for not implementing it and when I did I very often could not stick with it. I was over optimizing and felt more anxious about what I knew worked for me. My practical advice: Do what you can stick to and works for you.

Eating creates energy that helps to keep you energised aka awake. So, try to push through it and after a few days or weeks it won't be as hard and maybe even improve sleep. It get's easier, and "hunger" won't have as much of an (impulsive) effect on you. Feeling that way because less unpleasent and affect you less mentally, emotionally and even physically (less hangry and dizziness and such).

People in Spain eat very late, 9 or 10 or even 11, but they still have some of the longest life expectancies. Their late eating can't be harming them much, surely what you eat is much more important than when. People who eat late in places where it is not cultural (such as Northern Europe and North America) are more likely to be too tired to make something healthy, so are more likely to eat something like a takeaway, fast food or a microwaveable ready meal. Do these studies control for that?

He’s correct in the diurnal approach. I never did research, but the way I approached food was from the mindset of a caveman. We hunt/east during the day and sleep/ guard our territory at night. If you think eating at night during an intermittent fast is wrong, do not listen to this man! Shredded sports science helped me understand that hours are irrelevant, as long as you consume beneficial food. The hour you work out doesn’t matter. I swear to you, I’m not saying this because I viewed it in the aforementioned videos. My body reacts incredibly well to time restricted eating. In a full week, I only eat 34 hours. I’ve never been more alert, stronger, faster, and more disciplined!

Intermittent fasting doesn't work for me at all. If I skip breakfast, I'll be too hungry to focus on work, and if I eat dinner really early and nothing after that, I'll be too hungry to sleep. Best I can manage is to eat a piece of fruit right before bed, at least it's relatively low calorie.

@zimtwiers9726
@zimtwiers9726 Год назад
Isn’t it specifically pregnant women?
@jpmi7
@jpmi7 Год назад
yes. womens hormonal systems are different from men due to the 28 (approx) day menstrual/fertility cycle which makes women more prone to hormonal fluctuations/sensitivities. IF, if done incorrectly or for too many hours of the day, can signal to the body that the woman might be going into starvation, which will over a period of time impair fertility/menstrual function due to stuffing up of hormones. most studies of IF have also been done on men and post-menopausal women only - NOT on women in childbearing years.
@sunmoonstars3879
@sunmoonstars3879 Год назад
Women shouldn’t do extended fasts on the week leading up to their period (it screws up progesterone production) and also around ovulation especially if trying to get pregnant. I’m in my late 40’s and love IF but I’m v careful not to overdo it and bring on my menopause any sooner than needs be (through shorting progesterone and reducing my monthly cycle), you really need to get to know your body and listen to signs v carefully, leave the ego behind and do what’s best for you.

@matyastorok
@matyastorok Год назад
If you eat fatty meats and not much carb at all, depending on the portion, eating even as early as 6pm might make you feel full or even uncomfortable by the time you go to bed depending on how well your body can at that point time deal with that much protein and fat. Eating a carbohydrate rich dinner at 9pm however can get you up at 2 am because you need to take a piss and it disrupts sleep, and yes the next morning you may wake up hungry because your blood sugar levels dropped lower than optimal. So the solution is a KFC bucket to yourself at exactly 7.30pm. No need to intermittent fast, at best you are going to be still full at 11am next day, at worst you are going to be disgusted with yourself and still eat like an asshole the next morning.
