'The' Dansette Bermuda - 'The' Solution! Part 4 

I have learned a lot from your vids on this lovely piece of equipment. I have learned that someone else loves Bermudas and Betamax - that you remember fondly the Ready Steady Go programmes - but most of all, I have learned to hire bigger men.....! I was obviously choosing from the "Wuss Section" in the catalogue. Best wishes to the person who will be receiving the lovely Bermuda and thank you for the vids showing the restoration - I have so enjoyed them.

Hi Jon, OMG, a fellow lover of old technology! I have an ultra rare ferguson system 15, a couple of grundig reel to reels and found a very early front loader vcr in the attic recently! Seeing the dansette project made me smile, I grew up with my parents blasting out 60s music and recalling ready steady go being a highlight of the week. Keep the videos coming\1 J

I always wondered why they brought the mains cable up into the cabinet and then out the back rather than out of the lower back directly? Must have seamed a good idea at the time. Great job, nice to see it back to life again.

You've probably got an old ford consul or something lol.the betamax is a wonderful machine.mine was about the same age.ran it on a beautiful hitachi colour tv from 1981.sadly,both are long gone now.and let's not forget the bermuda !

Hi Neil...I had to use the opportunity to quickly show you one of my Betamax machines...I thought you might like it being user yourself :) I've also got a VTC9300 which plays amazingly well!...It is a very heavy machine as you well know! At a mere 10.5 kg the SL-HF100 is a fully loaded lightweight...haha!!! The other SL-HF100 I have in current use is on a CRT TV in my office...Almost impossible to capture with a camera...Black lines all over the screen! Many Thanks for commenting! :)

Betamax is better! You know your stuff! :) It may be a forgotten format now to most people, but I keep the candle burning brightly in my home! It's a lovely feeling when people say...Oh...Thats a good picture...Is it Blu-ray? I always chuckle when I reply...No...It's just good old fashioned Betamax...haha!!! :)

Glad you heard it Rob...I can't see how it could possibly do anything more than make people want to get it for themselves? We live in a crazy modern world! Sorry if I made you jump...haha!!! I've always used Betamax...I love the format! So proud of my collection of rock solid old players...I've got 3 Sony SL-HF100's and many others...They all suffer from the usual capacitors, but never take much to bring back to full health. Thanks again! :)

Great video If you’re car is something like a MK 1 Cortina that would go perfectly with the Dansette 👍

Fantastic! :) I don't need to tell you how good they are! I have three SL-HF100's all superb examples! This one has been in constant use since date of purchase in 1984. It has never missed a beat and always impresses me with its willingness to perform so well! Many Thanks for commenting! :)

Happy Days indeed! I remember my Dad pushing the Murphy black and white 405-625 line TV out of the living room and wheeling in another one...It was colour!...I cried my eyes out at the loss of the old one...I'm not keen on change...As you can see...haha!!! Many Thanks for commenting! :)

Yes, Bobby Vee is allowed in Australia. Ridiculous isn't it? I do get a laugh out looking at my videos to see where they are blocked. Love the Betamax btw, I was getting engrossed in Ready Steady Go and you spoke again and made me jump. :-)

I'm so fortunate I can actually choose where my machines go...It's a nice feeling! I know how much you want a Betamax...They were far superior back in the day! Still very competent machines even now! I'm sure you'll find a nice one! :)

Hello great work in all your videos really enjoyed them, can I ask? I have one of these players but my deck is Brown and I notice yours is grey. I was luck enough to get an all original one in perfect condition. They are great I love them!! Cant beat that sound. On another note I have a vintage Loud Speaker by HMV with a two pin lead, will this work with the Dansette? thank you again, Darren

Had mine since new as well, magnificent! I purchased another one around 6-7 years ago, also great, however that one has recently had a power supply problem which I believe is common to these units - basically runs fast. So I have yet to get that fixed. What issues have you had with any of yours? It's interesting to find out about them as they 'grow old!'. Ta Neil...

I came to see the dansette whch was peachey - I loved the RSG clip as well. How much rice pudding is a dansette like that worth now??
