I'd love to see more videos from you focusing on builds/conversions. These guys have a very deep, layered look to them that I really appreciate. Space Marines tend to look like cartoon suits of armor when assembled standard, while these look like there are heroes wearing giant piles of armor.

Just adore the look you made out of this ! I will keep up with this series for sure even if I don't play 40K. So much inspiration and good tricks to come.

This is a great overview. I'm super interested in kitbashing because I've lately been finding that the boxed kits don't really sell the grimy dark reality that these characters live in. I'd love a more in depth look at finding and utilizing random bits (especially those pauldrons, capes, and other major "statement" parts).

I can't say I'll ever paint a Dark Angel. but my god these are inspirational. I will be avidly watching and soaking up all the knowledge that I can (though I will be using what I learn to work on their loyal rivals). I am hoping the size difference will not be too great a separation from my own kit-bashed scouts using Necromunda Goliath and Marine Infiltrator bits.

I love your work and never thought I'd have to write this on one of your guides but: holy mold lines. Wowza. The mace at 4:54, the top of the bolter at 5:00, the chains and scrolls at 4:37, the gauntlet and antennas at 5:38, everything on the back of the guy at 5:43...

I love the much more medieval look about the armor design and the fur on the cloak is an incredible touch (although I may have treated it as a sub assembly to facilitate easier access to the entire cloak). I'm just a little concerned about the mold lines that were visually present on several of the bits during assembly, I really hope those got cleaned up because it would be a shame to have those spoil the paint job.

There's one thing that bugs me about these conversions, legs. I'm more accustomed to them being enlarged at the bottom, like metal disco pants. I wonder if dark angel terminator legs could work with that tasset from stormcast.

These look absolutely phenomenal. They definitely convey a "space knight". I've always felt that the design of space marines has been at odds with the lore, or at least the impression that the books give. Obviously there are tactical and manufacturing advantages to having simpler armour, but when has 30K/40K been practical? These remind me a lot of the older 40K artwork. I always remember seeing the artwork in RT for the first time and being disappointed when I picked up my first metal space marine. I wish they'd stuck with the aesthetics of the original metal space marine model (the "Imperial Marine" from '84). Bless his flanged toe plates. We lost a real one there.

1. The inner circle arent the green wing. The inner circle are the leaders and choose few in any of the wings of the angels of the 1st legion and their successor chapter 2. Thats a cool model youve made

Any tips on bits for shoulder pads as they’re so important to the style of the model and the triangle. I’ve struggle to find parts as bulky especially with the DA logo on like you have. I'm really excited, they were my very first army too and I can't was to see them done in proper gdc fashion. The models that I have I carried with me over 200 miles, after homelessness, divorce and fucking chemotherapy I can finally see how to paint my little plastic home boys as they should be painted.

Great conversions - very inspiring! However, the word is height with a hard T ending (like night, sight etc) it is not heighth! You must've said "heighth" half a dozen times!

You know, GW pushes this idea that the DA are 'knightly' pretty heavily, and largely the fanbase is happy to eat it up and repeat it. However, it isn't remotely true. I'm a PhD on chivalry, so it's something I know a fair bit about, and honestly they most resemble a religious militant order to me. Certainly something with the façade of knightly orders - plate armor, swords, vaguely chivalric symbols, and lots of words that evoke the ideals and images of the age - but this doesn't make it knightly. In fact, the legion/chapter that actually most resemble the knights of the Middle Ages are the Blood Angels. That being said, nice job on the paintwork! :)

My dudes/dudettes of grimdark - you have ruined mini painting for me! This style is so much better than GW painting style. It actually matches the artwork that really inspires me to want to play these models. You can hardly call GW painting and any style like it "grimdark" at all! I am glad to have found this channel before starting my new Eldar army. I am excited at the prospect of making their flashy colors tainted and grimy! I have dabbled with oil paint washes before and feel like I can use them more intentionally with the techniques you have shown. Thank you!

Great kitbash and a wonderful idea. But dude - check the facts before you say something. Wings are not Sub - chapters, Ravenwing Black Knights is a unit in Ravenwing, and Inner Circle is DEFENETLY NOT the same thing as Greenwing. Inner Circle is the most elite part of the chapter, all characters and all of Deathwing and Ravenwing are part of the Inner Circle, while the Greenwing are just troops. The whole idea is originsted in Hexagamaton which is Six Wings which composed the pre- Horus Heresy Era Dark Angels style of organization.
