Happy to see people still discovering this game! One of the most immersive games I've ever played. Combat is a steep learning curve, but once you get the hang of it it's quite satisfying.
I’m LOVING it. I am so happy that the announcement of the 2nd one finally pushed me to give it a try I started getting the hang of combat just earlier, so it will be in a later episode. It’s so difficult, but so rewarding when I saw my blocks, hits, and dodges succeeding.
with 2 coming, this will happen more. And it saved the late comers the extremely bumpy start, KCD was basically unplayable for the first months. I hope they've learned from it. as for the combat.... i hate it and i use a mod (Better Combat - Easy Edition) to make it simpler.
I think I might have accidentally opened the console commands earlier. It doesn’t bug out the game to mess with it a little? Not blindly of course, I’ll look up little quality of life things like keeping the reticle on
That opening scene hit me harder than I expected 😅 I bumbled my way through the first couple of episodes, but I’m starting to get the hang of this game. I’m LOVING it. It’s been so hard to tear myself away from it to deal with adult responsibilities 😂
I love how immersed you are in the game already. You have been taking time to appreciate the little details, and getting excited about the features of the game. This is my alltime favorite game, and I can already tell you will love it because you truly appreciate the things that make this game great 😊. You always bring so much joy and wonder to your videos, it is infectious and I really apprecaite that you take the time to share your experiences with us.
I get so stuck in! This is such a rarity, that the immersion is so easy, and I can just slip into Henry’s shoes. I love to look in every corner and see the little details the developers put in, everything is intentional and I can feel the love put into the game - it deserves to be appreciated. I love it so much I spent all weekend playing it 👀 I may have a couple more episodes recorded and I need to get to posting them or I’ll be too far ahead.
@@heyamariiit is great in that way. I know you have been having issues with the archery in the game, but as an archer myself, I love that if you have low skill in archery you can't hold the bow straight and it will hurt you every shot if you don't wear an arm guard. Howeve at higher skill you never hurt yourself and you can hold the bow perfectly still. It's all the little details 😊
Woah like recognisably similar for you? I wouldn’t have expected the devs to make it that accurate! I can’t wait for the game to fully open up! It looks like it will be a bit overwhelming, lots of things to learn. I’ll have to be patient with myself as I figure things out 😅
@@heyamarii Absolutely, they aimed for historical accuracy and it really shows in every aspect of the game :) It seems it's gonna be even greater with upcoming part 2 of the game, where they aimed to rebuild the town of Kutna Hora. You could take a look at those places on google maps after you've finished, which will now probably take 100s of hours to get there first though 😂 Hope you enjoy it and looking forward to see future episodes!
I’m going to take a look at a map for the early 1400s lol I need some kind of refresher from my history lessons in primary school 😂 I took a look at the screenshots of KCD2 and it’s gorgeous! I already feel so immersed in this one, the second one I’ll feel like I’m actually living there Im in no rush to finish the game, my mindset is already to live this medieval life for the next few months 😂 bring on the 100 hours
Man that opening scene when ur parents die just completly sets u up to instantly juat want to become good and get revenge, its so good, the town u goto after ur parents die is a actual town in real life that is ruins that u can visit.
That scene! Ugh! Out of nowhere a tear came out my eye 🥺 I didn’t think it would hit me like that. Wtffff is wrong with me lol I just met the parents. I must be hungover from Disco Elysium. I am so excited to be a great swordsman and horserider because right now I’m so dang normal haha it’s so hard! But so much fun even so
I just started watching your playthrough and it made me happy that you mentioned Knight’s Tale. I love that movie ❤️ It’s funny that KCD reminded you of this particular film because it was filmed in the Czech Republic, in Prague and the surrounding area, so the type of landscape and nature you see in Knight’s Tale is the same as in KCD 🙂
I watched that movie on repeat when I was a teenager! I got me through rough times 😂 I’m so bummed I can’t have a polearm, I wanted to be a “silly boy on a horse with a stick” hehe I need to watch that movie again this week. I must have glazed over the fact that it was filmed in the same area! Amazing that KCD sparked that nostalgia in me from the start, and I’m really enjoying this game so much more because of that feeling.
@@heyamarii I also love Dragonheart and that was shot in Slovakia which is our neighboring country and you can see that the nature and castles are very similar to ours. Countries in Central Europe just look alike.
You can auto-path you horse by holding only the l-shift key, without any other movement inputs. But that limits the speed to a canter... and here you want to gallop as much as you can. Cantering (using shift only once) doesn't tire out your horse. Gallopping (double clicking shift) does.
Hi,I'm glad you decided to play KCD1.I've played the game twice and each time I was completely engrossed. I'll be happy to see how you do.Enjoy the game.😊
I'm loving it tbh! It's a bit hard in the beginning because I'm just a peasant, but I am having a blast. Even with moments where it's slightly frustrating, its still so much fun
Heya! I’m glad you’re playing this game, it’s on my favorites! I do want to give you a few critical tips that you should do, focus on the sword training that you’ll get it will help you a lot. Training and leveling up is CRITICAL, also there are certain books that will increase your skill levels depending on which one it is. Read the books you find or buy it will help a lot! Finally, save lots of money and do the side quests and optional quests because you will need it. I hope you’ll enjoy this game a lot because it is hard and you will die a lot from the beginning, trial and error but the key factor in this game is training and improve your skills on it!
This helps! Thank you! I’m assuming if I want a different weapon, I have to train that separately from a sword? I will hoard my wealth 😁 i heard that I can make my own town, so that’s my goal for amassing a lot of money now. It is hard! But I’m having fun even with the frustrating difficulty.
Only if you are going to build the town you could buy armor or a horse but armor you can get in the treasure maps is kind of hard to find for some people.
keep them blind walkthroughs coming! you're very fun to watch :) and yes it's better with a controller. finished this game for the second time just recently on my Steam Deck while being stuck in hospital for a week, and it's a much better experience than with a mouse. bows might be tricky though!
I was so excited to start this. I’m still getting over Disco Elysium, and so I needed this as a pick me up. Then a scene in KCD made me cry, and I realised I’m still emotionally damaged form DE 😂😂😂 I’ll try it out with a controller, the mouse sensitivity is WILD lol It’s such a big game, a little intimidating… but one thing I’m good at is failing upwards 😂 I’ll stumble my way to figuring out this game soon enough!
I had the same reaction first time, second and third time less. This game is so well made it brings you joy, tears, hype, stress and fulfillment. And certainly it gives you a sense as if you have really witness a true story. Can't wait to see how good KCD 2 will be.
Those tears came out of me from nowhere! I wasn’t expecting to cry about something so early in the game when I didn’t know the characters all that well. Beautifully written, every shot is film-worthy. I’m still not done with this game and I’m so excited for what KCD2 will bring
@@heyamarii The voice acting and scenery is of film worthy quality. Throughout the whole game and the story is brilliant, of course because its based in real historic event. Lot of emotions are still ahead of you in the main story line. It's very EPIC!
@emilbortnowski128 the voice acting is equally incredible! I loved that the characters are modeled after the actors, and the CEO! I was not expecting that, but it really shows the closeness of the Warhorse team. The quest stories go from serious and epic, to truly silly and fun. Does not feel monotonous at all and I’m having the best time
I was surprised that this popped up! I played this a few years ago and despite the tough start (Henry is just a normal person after all), I enjoyed it a lot! I hope you keep at it and enjoy it as much as I did! I also modded the game so I could save without the Schnapps; I played without it for a bit, but I had more fun after modding.
I think that’s part of the charm! It’s frustrating in that I’m so normal 😂 but makes me want to get this rags to riches story going. It’s so much more enjoyable and less stressful once I put in the save mod. I’ve had a crash and a breaking glitch which needed reloading already. Man I would have been so upset if I didn’t have a save close to where I left
@@heyamarii Glad that mod saved you already! And definitely about Henry's progression! Even though he does get better and learns how to fight, he never feels overpowered, especially when fighting groups. The world still gives that sense of danger. I did miss out on some quests too because I took too long, but I love that the world still goes on when I'm off adventuring 😅
@@heyamarii Yup! There are some where the NPC will give you a timeline, like a week for example, and they will mean it! Some were more subtle. The subtle ones are the ones I may have missed 🤐. I do wish they flagged these quests though!
Absolute agree! The cutscenes had me so invested. The beginning is quite overwhelming and difficult, but I had fun! I think because I knew I’m just a normal peasant boy and eventually things will get better if I work on it
Played this game when it came out 3-4 times through just to witness the different ways of approaching quests and their outcome by myself. In Skalitz you had already the one with Kunesh. You did beat him up. Good for your strength and your unarmed fighting skill. You could also ask Fritz for a lock pick after the "house event" to steal it quietly (would be good for sneaking areound and your lockpick skills) or all your friends to bet up Kunesh all together which has no specific benefit to any skill but is the easiest way. Also if you would get arrested when caught stealing things from Kunesh you would get a "secret ending" with Henry dying in prison when they raid and burn down the village. Now that all that is in the past I guess that's not spoilers anymore. Oh and getting a teary eye when Henrys parents die may not be from still having emotional damage like i read in other comments of you but because the characters was so well introduced to you as a player that you already had some kind of emotional bonding to them. I still get a lightly eye malfunction when this scene comes up and I think I'm relativly emotional stable. 😉 As others mentioned before there are some time related quests but not all of them are. My thinking is you get the best experience out of this game when you play it like you were really Henry and don't do typical rpg games stuff like looting all to the bottom and rob everyone for example. Only loot what you really need and only rob them who deserve it.... or rob and kill everyone and become a villain Henry. Btw looting everything not only doesn't make any sense it also slows you down massivly. If you would play on hardcore you could damage your health when you walk massivly overloaded. Do as you would act in real life is best imo. Anyway I enjoyed every minute of your playthrough even though your facecam had a malfunction *joking Clicked the subscribe button and also the bell at least for the time you're playing this diamond of a game. 😊
I can't believe I never tried it until now! I think I was just intimidated by its size and depth/accuracy. I'm starting to get the hang of it and it's been incredibly enjoyable so far. I was wondering what the other ways were to get Kunesh's axe! Someone else mentioned I could have asked my friends to back me up. So cool, quest order can alter the direction of other quests. I like hearing about the other ways a quest here would have gone, because I plan on making this a thorough playthrough and not sure if I have the time to do it again before KCD2 comes out. So bring them on after I've accomplished the quest! In a later episode (that I'm going to edit momentarily) I did mention some self imposed rp rules for myself - which included not looting absolutely everything anymore lol I want to try and be more true to who I would be as Henry. I am buzzing to get back in the game! I expected a really beautifully crafted rpg, and I am not disappointed in the slightest. Thank you for joining me on this playthrough! I know I have a lot to learn, and I'm sure it's going to be a little overwhelming at times for me as a newbie to the game! I hope I make you veterans proud soon!
@@heyamarii Think there's no "best way" of playing it. I only explained what I think makes the most sense to me. That didn't meant that playing it a different way would be wrong. 🙂
Don’t worry! I know you meant it as advice for me to play in a way that gives myself the best experience for myself :)) I was echoing thoughts I was talking about in the recordings I made earlier today and you commented something similar to what I said :)) perfect timing
I liked this being set in historical eastern europe , a slice of history most of us have to explore outside of what is generally taught in standard education.
Gosh, it’s been like 25-30 years since I studied this period of history in Eastern Europe lol there were too many rulers during the Middle Ages fighting for power
Thanks for the correction! Central Europe. There are sooo many territories to keep track of in history! Borders constantly changing during such a tumultuous period
@@elha92 yes, I should have remembered that. My grandmother remarried into a large Bohemian family, there were a lot of Bohemians, Slovenians and Czechs in Florence CO who immigrated to work the coal mines. And brought us the magic of Potica...
Only if you want practice and see everything that happens in the first game. Because nothing is transferring from the first game unless it's bye answering questions that's how we get what we did in the first game.
I’m going to see what happens in this game! I’m thoroughly enjoying myself so much, I was late to a thing I had to be at because I was busy being Henry 😂 I barely scratched the surface of this first game, and I’m already excited for the second lol
It will be blind for me as well. Never seen this game but very interesting so far. Starting as a peasant, you will have to rely on speech and your wits more then fighting. Well another adventure begins!
We’re going in blind together! We can share curiosity, gasps, and stress with the unknown! Starting as a peasant is frustratingly FUN! I feel so useless haha but also so much potential to raise our status. This is going to be a hell of a rags to riches story
RIP Henry's crush. I think she was the one yelling for help as you ran up to the horses. You seemed to be in shock and tunnel visioned right past her. Killing the attackers is hard, but I believe you can save her just by distracting them for a couple seconds, giving her a chance to escape.
That was Theresa?? I think I heard her screams but I was still upset about the parents… dang maybe I was in shock, it’s like the world kept happening and I was just moving forward
@@heyamarii Yeah, I think so. It has been a couple years since I played the game. I'm not sure if what happens if you save her vs not saving her though. She might still be alive.
For Kinushes quest... fight him let him get u ...go to mother let her pach u up ...meet ur frends do that quest then let them help u whit Kinush...u get lot more then just the hammer n nailes
@danieljung5862 I went right back into the game after recording this episode 👀 1 hour was just not enough lol the cutscene and the story is just too good. I kept forgetting I wasn’t watching a movie haha I had to get the save mod though. I know it might enrage some KCD fans, but with kids and a very random work schedule I need to be able to save whenever 😬
I found it! It was such a lifesaver because my game glitched out badly already lol got me thinking if I had done a lot of progress for a recording and had to reload an hour back or something… that would have suuuucked
You didn't necessarily need the mod. The game has an exit save option that allows you to save at any time and quit the game - you would resume at that point once you restarted the game.
@geminicricket4975 the save to quit doesn’t use a schnappes thing? Ohhh I hadn’t realised. I was surprised I already had 1 game breaking glitch, and 1 crash recording the first 2 episodes. So I’m glad I had the save mod 😬
@@heyamarii Nope. The exit save does not use a schnapps. In fact, that's exactly how I got around not using them - I didn't mind waiting for the game to exit/reload. :)
I rarely preorder anything, save for studios I want to support. KCD2 screenshots look phenomenal, I can tell the devs are so dedicated to their project and community. Once I finish KCD, I think I might just preorder
@RMSB30 🥺🥺 that scene hit me out of nowhere. These opening cutscene are incredible, I didn’t think I would feel that kind of emotion during the first hour.
@heyamarii I'm pretty slow I always take way longer then u should because I am constantly exploring and just doing stuff that's not the main quest like hunting or breaking in houses to make money you can pick pocket ppl while they sleep it makes good money loll at least for the early game, there's a questline basiclly involved around being a shady theif type player. Even a skill tree for it 😅
I’m trying to be a good boy! This game is making me a criminal 😂😂😂 I also spend so much time doing the most random stuff in game. Like in BG3 I would hoard things and decorate camp - it did not benefit me for gameplay at all haha just purely aesthetic. I have a feeling I’ll find that similar something in KCD that will be my time sink
Funny enough if you do them things in a different order your friends will help u beat up the guy who has ur fathers tools 😅 you might know this by now but u can save by sleeping
WHAT! I could have had my friends help?! Dang ok so even order of tasks in a quest matters. Good to know. I need to save whenever, like freely. I know it takes away a little from the intended experience… but with kids it’s so rare to be able to sit for a full hour to record these. I usually have to get up and take care of something here and there. The save mod is necessary for me 😬
@@heyamarii If you got the Royal edition it already includes them and they will be activated and become available after specific points in the game - if not, I highly recommend the mods, all of them are great and worth it.
So what do you think do far? It's a amazing game that flew under the radar somehow fun fact them town and castles are real places which are now mostly ruins
The intro alone, with the music swelling and seeing everyone just living their normal lives already sold me! And honestly? I’ve already recorded part 2 because I just didn’t feel like 1 hour was enough for me 😂 I LOVE IT! Even feeling a little overwhelmed with just trying to survive, I LOVE it
@heyamarii it gets good it's the closest game to a actual real life medevil rpg expirence and there's a dlc where u can build ur own town which obviously takes a while but it's something u work towards aswell as another dlc that let's you have a clan of knights
@heyamarii I also love that you are litterly a nobody and you fight like ur a nobody to lol ur character Is terrible at fighting with swords n bows but later after alot of training from a guy u will meet your guy can become a absolute unit of a knight. I beat the game on hard-core mode which doesn't give u a compass or a map marker so u basiclly gotta memerize the lands.
Well, as a Czech, I would love to find the motivation to play this game, but I really hate first-person games. Plus, shooting arrows and doing the swoosh and swish with a sword is just utterly boring for me. I had some trouble playing a melee Geralt in The Witcher, and this is much worse. Good luck though :) (and from historic standpoint Sigismund would be much better king than Wenca "party" king and later on after his death he was not acknowledge as a king with the start of Hussite wars, which basically meant downfall of Bohemia as a leading part of european politics, yet in the game Sigi is basically a baddie, becuase you learn in school how Hussites - plundring and raping their own country -with their "noble cause" rebelled againts evil power of foreign emperor...)
I too struggle with first person perspective 😅 it makes me motion sick at times. I absolutely suck at this combat lol but I’ve been told I just need training so hopefully it gets easier. Wenceslas does not seem like an ideal king, with the partying. Thank you for the history! It’s been like 25 years since I last read anything about this period in Europe lol I have very vague recollections of the constant wars
@@Pharaphel Wenceslav was weak king but if Sigismund could be really better King for Bohemia, we can only speculate. Better Emperor sure but king of Bohemia, who knows. The fact is, that with Sigismund came to Bohemia also civil war, so most of the czech people didnt like him.
