Correction: The match itself started on Saturday, but they had to abandon the court at the warm up. The first game was on Monday, so when I put 'Saturday' is actually 'Monday'.
Nadal vs Soderling, 3rd Round of Wimbledon 2007. 92 hours of time lapse since it started until it finished, 4 hours played. Remembered for a moment in which it became personal. Twitter: / sllorcatennis Like & Subscribe for more Tennis content!

Even though some players have a special dislike for Nadal, I don't think Nadal has enemies. If Nadal likes you, he's going to give a 100% to beat you. If he doesn't like you, he's going to give 100% to beat you. There's no difference.

Rafa pouring his heart out to the Spanish media because the English media would not pay much heed to him - looks like. OMG Rafa's face had such childlike innocence unbelievable - because these things were neither telecast in our media nor did a lot of us have the time to watch or appreciate tennis and its stars of those years... we just knew of these guys from the last page headlines... looks like we missed quite a bit :-)

Soderling was the first player ever to beat Nadal at Roland Garros (2009) and remains to this day the only player besides Đoković who was able to do that. He was without a doubt top 10 player and would have competed for GS titles (I personally think he would have at least won 1 GS), but unfortunately he was diagnosed with mononucleosis in 2011 and that effectively ended his career. In the past few years, he was very honest about his mental health problems he was having in combination with his physical illness. Anxiety and panic attacks were the result of the pressure you have to handle being a professional athlete at that level and Soderling explained nobody teaches you how to take care of yourself mentally which is equally as important as taking care of your body. I hope Federer at least bought him a yacht or something as a sign of gratitude, without that 2009 win against Rafa, Roger would not have that one French Open title that he has in his career

We have a talk show here in Sweden called "Sommarpratarna" which Robin Söderling was invited to last year. He talked about this match. He explained how he tried to interrupt all of Nadal's OCD behavior because he was annoyed by how it was always the way Nadal wanted things to go. For example leaving the dressing room last and walking last in on the court and so on. Robin tried to disrupt all that. I think that is why it got to 5 sets.

Every player wants to win...no matter if they speak spanish or swedish... :-) it is best that the opponent tries their best to put up with the other guy's peculiarities - we all do that in our lives... Federer did it...played manfully against Rafa but could not win on clay however much he tried... they ended up being very respectful friends. However, if Rafa says that he tried saying Hi to this soderling guy 7 or 10 times and never got a friendly response - he must be telling the truth - he was so much of a kid those days...!! and the guy still complains about that kid in swedish interviews... !!! goodness - he does not want to grow up... and of course Karma catches everyone...

seriously what is right/wrong about leaving the locker room 1st/last...? it is up to them what they do as long as they come on court in time... in any case they have to walk on court when their names are called... not at their whim... therefore he is just spinning yarn on that count... and then if such trivial matters bother someone...they just don't deserve to be at the highest level of competition... sorry to say... also those who say such things about Rafa can take a look at the olympic 2016 pre qf where he played belucci... the court policewomen were literally barring Rafa's entry on court for more than 5 or 6 min after the brazilian was called on court... i dont think Rafa complained tho he was seen pulling a face at their authoritarian behavior... The way he submits/surrenders himself to the sport is so touching really...
