Fantastic show 110% recommended and it was a 99% faifthful recreation of the movie to stage. The ending tops it all. Bravo!Although the two leads were really great, my missus and I thought the actor playing George McFly got Crispin Glover’s jittery mannerisms perfectly. That was quite hard to recreate!
Universal studios hollywood new movie sounds like story life look back at movie soundtrack in movie part in Spanish language arts center spot on call them please let before the election of dream of the day away magic and pay pal made
I agree, Crispin Glover couldn't have done it better himself. Though I wouldn't put it any above 90% faithful as an adaptation. Doc getting radiation poisoning alone shaved off 5-10% faithfulness, and felt like a silly solution to how poorly a chase scene with terrorists translates for modern theater audiences
Bob really hitting the nail on the head. I've seen the musical three times and yet I'm genuinely jealous (in a good way) of everyone seeing it for the first time. Because I can't go back (in time) and experience that feeling again.
I’ve seen about fifteen different musicals. From Be More Chill to Hamilton and this is by far the best thing I have ever seen. I felt chills all throughout the performance and I’m so in love. It’s brought back my obsession for back to the future. The lights and the special effects were so insane, it all ran so smooth as if I were watching a literal movie. It was beyond perfection and I’m so confused by it. If you don’t know whether to watch it or not, let me help you. Watch it, and you’ll receive the best performance of your life, I’m sure of it. I just want to speak to the cast so badly because it’s all so incredibly accurate and surreal. The acting is impeccable I am honestly never going to be able to stop talking about this show.
Saw this week (8 Sept 2021). Have to say, I wasn't really sure what to expect. I was unsure that a musical version could live up to all that fondness for such an iconic movie - let alone deliver on the speed, action moments and special effects of the movie. But have to say, the creators of this blew me away. The details included were bang on...And without giving anything away, the methods they use to create the iconic 'edge of your seat' final sections of the story were truly spectacular....especially the famous iconic 'very final' moments from the movie, which caused an instantaneous eruption of applause from the audience. The cast was superb...all of them. The guy playing Marty McFly was great and had all of the right mannerisms. vocal sounds and physicality of the Michael J Fox version of Marty, as did the guy playing his dad, George McFly. The actress playing his mum was also a dead ringer. Doc was also spot on, again had all the right elements, but definitely made it his own...and Marty's Girlfriend and Biff also really great - as well as some great iconic moments, taken directly from the movie, with the high school headteacher, the enchantment under the sea dance, the 'wannabe' mayor Goldie Wilson, and Marvin Berry and the Starlites (although wished they'd kept in the call that Marvin makes to his cousin Chuck in the movie, during the 'Johnny B Goode' number.) As for the music. The best numbers are the familiar ones lifted from the movie - like 'Power of Love', 'Back in Time' and 'Johnny B Goode'. There's also a couple of other standout songs...one sang by Goldie Wilson and a fun duet with Marty and his Dad George. The others are a bit forgettable, but fit the purpose of moving the show along. But best of all is the well-known underscore and main theme tune which plays at just the right moments throughout. (creating 'hairs standing up on end' moments). Overall, a terrific effort by all involved in bringing this to life on stage. Hope it gets a long run and is not panned by the critics, who can be a bit stuffy about these kinds of shows. This is definitely a crowd-pleaser, and that's what should matter.
..like the review, very interesting.. pleased what you said about the score, but from this video it doesn't look like a "normal" orchestra- in- a pit- affair, (havnt been to seeing it, yet!) i couldn't work out where the musicians were.. were they totally hidden?
You hit the nail on the head! Saw it last weekend - blew my mind! It’s just the antidote we all need at this time. Outstanding entertainment from the first rousing notes to the spectacular finale!
If your a fan of the Back to the Future franchise then this show is a must. I was lucky enough to see this show yesterday and I have to say congratulations to all the staff, performers and special effects team who exceeded all expectations. Only spoiler I give you that you will see all your favourite Back to the Future characters like George, Lorraine, Marty Mcfly, Biff, Goldie Wilson, Mr Strickland and more. This show will give the experience of being in a Back to the Future movie and the great time travelling experience. If your going to the show try to sit as near the stage as possible or somewhere with a good view.
It opener earlier, not on March 11th. The premiere was actually on February 20th. I was there on Februari 29th and it was the most amazing musical I ever had the fortune to experience. As a huge BttF-fangirl I had goosebumps all the way. It was the last event before Covid and the lockdowns and I’m so very thankful we decided to go early.
Same. I was proper chuckling at the chance to see it on 29 February; glad someone else saw the video creator didn't full fact-check 👀 but regardless of it the show was fantastic. I love how you too also saw it on Feb 29th - I just HAD to do it 😂
Saw it Friday Night just gone. As an 80's kid and a huge fan of the originals, this absolutely blew my mind. They achieved exactly what they set out to do. Breathtaking. Already planning my next trip.
The greatest thing I've ever seen. Flawless. I'm OBSESSED with the trilogy, this could not be any more perfect! I was tearing up at some places, to hear the film score again live is incredible!
Went to see this with my fiancée yesterday(on my birthday) I’ve loved this movie since was a kid and it’s my all time favourite ever. And seeing the show was absolutely incredible, loved it. And I will be going BACK TO THE FUTURE AGAIN AND AGAIN
Absolutely brilliant. So much fun....and I bumped into Bob Gale and got a photo when leaving. The cherry on the cake. Go and see this show!! Mind blowing SFX as well
I don’t think that’s going to happen in a very very long time. Especially since the show is brand new. Maybe after it goes on tour, or after it’s been around for several years.
I had tickets but I can’t travel to the UK :( please go on tour to the US post-pandemic or do something like how they filmed Newsies on Broadway and released it
Having been an extra in a musical for 10 days has made me appreciate this art even more. I was always a musical fan, but to actually be in one and not be part of the audience was an amazing experience. And despite all the hard work and all the free time you lose, I'll do it again in a heartbeat.
@@Choices2aa I only have the DVD version that they recorded on a day I wasn't there and I don't know how to put that on RU-vid. Plus the sound isn't that great. Too loud with the songs and too quiet with the dialogue.
Soon would be my guess. There's a recent trend of 80s and 90s films coming to Broadway. With this one being disgustingly good, it's only a matter of time!
I went to see this about a month ago with my crushes bff, it was amazing, like when I looked over at my friend his face was glooed to the performance, but I have to say...everyone's still doing a great job!
Just seen this, Absolutely awesome, I have to say back to the future has taken theatre to another level, blew my mind, absolutely perfect, hats off to everyone who is involved ❤️
Saw this during my trip to London this summer, 100% the best musical i have ever seen. The humor, music and use of special effects was simply perfection :D
Saw it at the weekend with my family, it was my nephew’s first West End show and we all agree, it was quite possibly one of the best shows we’ve ever seen! The effects were incredible!!
Watched last night great comedic characters we think we know how it goes we don’t great twist with originality from the past love it hope it goes into part 2 😉.
0:33 I've So Excited For Back To The Future The West End Hit Musical At London's Adelphi Theatre In London's West End This Year. Wish Me Luck. Thanks Mate. X
For those who've seen this musical, can you explain how they did the delorean going 88 miles per hour on stage? Was it off stage? Was there a special effect? Just curious.
Confused; I saw this on 29 February 2020 in Manchester - I know it's leap year day (which is why I picked it) but it definitely opened before 11 March 2020 to audiences... Made me chuckle that a musical about time travel now says in its video it was impossible for me to have seen it 😂 Fantastic show that I would love to see again and extremely honoured to see it and humbled to think it was the last pro show I saw before... . Doc's line advising us not to travel to 2020 was excellent foreshadowing 😂
Looks amazing! Do I really have to wait until 11/26 for the album? On a personal note, the movie holds a special memory for me. My maternal grandmother lived with us from the time I was born. My family went to see the movie over Christmas break. It was my grandmother's last trip to the movies before going into a nursing home a few months later. At the age of 85, she had a great time seeing it. I hope the Good Lord is letting her see it from Heaven🌈
