Thanks so much for watching this! Shaman King meant a lot to me as a kid, but as much as the industry has continued moving forward Shaman King 2021 has seemingly stayed in the past. So finally...I have to let it go. Here's my Eulogy to The Shaman King that was, and the Shaman King that could have been.

I watched Shaman king with my two older brothers when I was about 6 years old and it honestly really left a big impression on me. As a kid, I had a huge crush on Anna and just admired the crap out of Yoh's laidback attitude compared to the rest of the cast. Later on, when I got older I finally read the manga and just truly lost my shit. It was like everything I liked about the anime was dialed to eleven. I really enjoyed how things played out because of how unconventional the interactions between Hao and Yoh felt as the story progressed. To me when the remake was announced it was something I was very much hyped up for but I'm the type of guy to binge anime so I very rarely watched while airing and would wait till the completion. I ended up never getting to watching it cause of how lukewarm or negative the response was and now seeing actual clips of it it's hard for me to say how I feel. I'm relatively lax about the quality of animation in anime, but this was something that I think truly deserved the "BROTHERHOOD" treatment.

Another point that perfectly encapsulates the problem the whole reboot had, is the music. The old series had one of the most unique soundtracks that gave the whole series its own feeling and identity, there was a vibe to the whole shaman king experiece with their mix of reggae for free spirited and light hearted moments, rock beats for intensity and traditional japanese music mixed with the other two for emotional scenes, the nearly tribal drums that anounced Hao's presence or the ominous eclesiastic choir for the X-Laws. Meanwhile non of the beats of the new ost has any identity to it, not even emotion is just white noise that could have been in any generic anime and barely have a distinc feeling

Soon it'll be 5 years since I read the manga. I've known the series since being a kid. I've spent a year trying to make stuff for the series, edits, amv's whatnot, some bad reviews... Idk, feels horrible never to see Shaman King get what it deserves as a series. Short run, poorly handled direction, less impactfull than the manga counterparts for big moments, poorly distributed outside of Japan. Sad to see this all go down on one of the most underappreciated series and my personal favorites.

When i heard about the manga author wanting to remake the anime but didn't due to not having access to the voice actors i was very happy that he had passion about this project and when the 2021 anime remake was announced i was very hyped for it, me and my friends even called it "Shaman King Brotherhood" that's how much expectations we had for it. Im sure you can imagine how disappointed i was with the remake now, but it even made me think to myself "maybe the story isn't as good as i remember it being" and now this video reminded me a bit of why i love this story that i am considering giving the manga a shot, so thank you for making this video.

This pretty much summed up all my thoughts on this anime. Everything seemed perfect during the lead up to this show but it ended up as one of the biggest disappointments I’ve experienced. It hurts cuz I can tell there were so many people who wanted to make this good and you can see that in the voice acting, the music, and even the promotional materials, but those can’t make up for the miserable experience of watching something I once loved be butchered by lackluster animation and terrible pacing

I think the major problem with the new adaptation is how unnecessary it is. The first adaptation came during the height of shonen manga adaptations in the early 2000’s and similar styles anime and was a pretty ideal time to adapt shaman king even with a mediocre budget. But now with the story of both the anime and manga long dead and buried the only reason they’d have for this one to exist is if it was a high production merging of the best of both of them with maybe even some new stuff. As it stands it’s an inferior adaptation of both with nothing majorly new to show for it, which only leaves the animation and presentation to make it worthwhile. unfortunately they dropped the ball there when compared to the current industry’s standards which is why it feels so bad. As you said, the original show had a much better mood and art direction that was rather calm and sometimes even melancholy. The new one looks like literally every anime with only some unique character designs. As someone who grew up with the first adaptation it’s a real shame and It really does beg the question of what a properly animated adaptation with the mood of the first adaptation and the look of the manga would actually be like.

Saw most of the original show on tv back then. The ending was one of the parts I missed. Later discovered it was anime only. When the new adaption was announced, I got a friend into rewatching it with me, this time from beginning all the way to the end. For him it was the first time tho. I also picked up the manga which I had planned on doing for longer actually and was also recommended by others. Tho I only got to the end of vol 2, I definitely wanna get back into it. Also hope they'll license the sequels where I live some time in the future. Thanks for showing your perspective on the series as a whole. And It had to have done something right, since they already announced that Shaman King: Flowers would be getting an anime too. If this keeps going, then we should expect all the other spin-offs and continuations to get something similar. That's amazing. I didn't even mention it, but the dub even managed to get some of their original actors back. That wave of nostalgia kept me going at first.

I think the improvement in shonen anime animation quality has less to do with technology and more to do with the fact that now they're produced in seasons of around 12-26 episodes a year instead of making a new episode every single week until the series ends.

Before you just had to use trial and error and holy hell was it time consuming.

With how they were doing it they really should’ve stuck to flowers and give it a more flowy but smooth animation with a mix of the classic energy of original. It matched the MC’s mood better and the story better. You always was laid back but it always felt like he had this underpinning energy to him that would’ve made it beneficial to keep the artstyle and pacing as close to the manga as possible.

Shaman King meant a lot to me during my formative teenage years. I remember picking up my first volume of Shonen Jump (which is still with me and dog eared to hell) and being absolutely enthralled by the first battle between Ren & Yoh. It wouldn't be until a few years ago that I picked up a whole slew of the original manga second hand and blazed through it like a man dying of thirst. With Jojo seeing a huge rise in popularity, I was extremely hopeful for the Shaman King remake, but everything you said in the video echoes my own sentiments. It's hopelessly stuck in the past and while Jojo might have embraced that in creative ways, it's been to Shaman King's detriment

I was really disappointed with the new adaptation. I watched it alongside with the og version and it was really hard to justifying watching it. The old version had hands down the better production, just by comparing Ren’s introduction you can tell the difference, the atmosphere of the og version felt like a horror movie with a blood red sky and while it might be cheesy, it’s at least something compared to the remake’s static shots and dull atmosphere. Storywise, I think the remake did better, some changes were made which I mostly liked (except making Yoh’s spirit red) and more characters were developed especially best girl Anna, but you can still get that with the manga. The animation also didn’t fit the artstyle of Shaman King, their limbs look awkward, unnatural, and aesthetically unpleasant to look at which was not the case with the older anime. The only saving grace I can think of is for a better sequel but that’s just me grasping on straws, I can’t imagine the disappointment of the author who green lit the remake only for it not to get the love it deserved.

I'm sorry this is SO LONG... I'm passionate about this series and I got carried away! 😩 The new anime for SK was a let down for me in so many ways. Not only was the OG anime better and given the attention it deserved, but the manga's "full" story had so many corners cut from the new anime. The only reason the old anime ended the way it did was because of an issue regarding Takei and his editor and the manga's situation at that time. The manga as it is now, complete with 300 chapters, was only just over, at the time of the OG anime ending, halfway done for what it would become eventually. They not only had horrible pacing (14 episodes covered the first 100 chapters and that is absolutely insane to me), but that pacing caused them to cut the corners I mentioned and leave out so many instances of characterization. There was no time to come to love the characters the way the OG anime allowed for. I grew up with Shaman King. I started reading it around 2004, 2005. Eventually I watched the anime and I loved both the manga and anime even though they were somewhat different, but all in all, back then the anime did its damnedest to stay true to the overall story, even when it had to change or chose to change some things (like Ryu befriending Yoh much sooner and Horohoro being introduced much sooner). Even when the manga was halted for a while, the anime still sprinkled every single major plot point from the manga into the OG anime right up until the final episodes, covering as much of the manga content as they could. For example, Ren's almost death in the final episodes was based completely on his actual first death approximately halfway into the manga (as the manga is now), as back then the manga stopped shortly after that for a while, if I remember the situation for the manga correctly. Back then the anime team gave everything it had into the quality of the anime. While I wasn't satisfied with the ending because it went against Yoh's entire character up to that point, I also realize the anime team was just that: the anime team, and they weren't the original writer so they had to make do. Up until then they stayed as relatively true as they could. There was filler put in there from time to time and a lot of the final arc was largely filler, but having grown up and learned more about the situation regarding the manga from back then it helps put it into a better perspective for why that happened. Since the manga was, iirc, on indefinite hiatus and they caught up, their only options were to do the same for the anime (risking losing viewers who wouldn't care to come back by the time they brought the series back on TV), end the anime their own way, or keep putting in filler until the manga continued or was announced to be canceled (which would mean spending a lot of money to keep the series going for filler that people would possibly not even enjoy and might leave because of, on top of risking the chance of hearing the manga would not continue anyway, even after all that). Nowadays even though we got the entire story, it was at the cost of so many things that made SK what it was in the manga. I hate that I can look at the OG and say that a half finished version is better than the full version. I hate that I can look at the completed version and see that all my favorite characters finally got into the anime, but then look at the OG anime and see that so many of them didn't even exist in the manga yet or got left out of the anime, and yet still think that even without a lot of my favorites, the OG anime was better than the version /with/ them. I won't ever lay SK to rest because I adore it and it's still probably my favorite manga, but I was extremely disappointed in the remake starting right at episode one when they changed things to condense important plot points into one episode. The original anime's first two episodes gave the whole story there, but right from the very, absolute beginning of the remake, they had already started condensing things to rush it. I knew it was a bad sign but BOY was it a bad sign for the rest of the anime. I still can't believe that the OG anime was 64 episodes and, aside from some filler, managed to cover up to half the full story, versus 52 episodes that was the entirety of the manga. 64 episodes, half of the series. 52 episodes, the entire series. It's not like it's 64 for the OG and then 52 for the remake to cover half the series, because that would be reasonable and probably about accurate if you considered the portion of the 64 that was filler. Instead, no. It was 52 for the whole remake. Tbh I don't think SK is getting a third chance anyway considering they already announced its sequel will be animated. If SK gets a third chance in the future I imagine it won't be for a very, very long time. Takei supposedly had the choice to have SK one straight through series of 52 episodes or break it into seasons and make it longer, but also supposedly he chose the 52 episodes because he wasn't sure it would be popular enough to be renewed for another season or could have gotten axed before completing after two, three or so on seasons. I mean from his perspective I get it, that he probably wanted the whole series to finally be animated at whatever cost he could get, and it would also be super difficult to get all the VAs' schedules prepared the way they needed if he didn't do it at the first opportunity he got. Also, the longer he waited for a remake, the more chance he would risk of them being unable to return (for example, Yoh's old VA retired a while ago and that's why she didn't come back. If he kept waiting, more of them could've retired, and Pirika's VA passed away many years ago now, so there are circumstances out of his control that would potentially reduce the returning cast the longer he waited). From Takei's perspective, I understand picking the 52 episodes. From the anime staff's perspective though... the fact that they only granted him the 52 episodes to begin with is where my problem lies. It feels like there wasn't even an attempt to give it what it deserved right from their decision of episode number. TL;DR: Shaman King deserved so much better than the remake gave it and was basically an insult to the OG anime that, despite being incomplete, was significantly more appealing and more attentive to the story it told with the characters it used to tell that story. For a franchise that's been continuing on and off well beyond the original series with tons of spinoffs and side stories as well as a sequel, continuing to do so to this very day, the remake did it super dirty.

I honestly thought I was crazy for how I felt watching the first episode of the new release. I even asked my friends to compare the first 2 episode of the og back in the day version with this new version and they said they were fine with it. Although they said that I couldn't get past the episode when Ryu starts working under Anna. Something just didn't feel right. After watching your vid it kinda makes sense it felt too clean Shaman King is my second favorite manga, and it sucks to see it with this animation but in some ways I'm glad it got popular enough to get a redo no matter the result. Well that's my 2 cents and hey at least it didn't get the same treatment as my first favorite manga.

I actually watched the original one Shaman king back when it aired and i remembered liking it. I was actually hyped when the remake was announced and hoped it would be as great as other recent shonen jump titles. Sadly that was not the case, and with every arc of the anime, i hoped the next one would be the one where the animation quality would shoot up. However after finishing the entire anime there was never such a moment. It felt less like a story they wanted to tell, and more like a race they wanted to finish as fast as possible

That's sadly what happened. Most times adaptations take 2-3 chapters to adapt for an individual episode, depending on other factors you can even get a 4th in there if you do it right. Shaman King has 300 chapters in total and thus to get a properly paced adaption would need 100+ episodes, but only got 52, which means they had to adapt 5.8 chapters on average per episode to adapt everything within the episode limit.

As someone who saw SK 2021 all the way and has little to no attachment to the source, let me say this: 2021 was one of the most boring long-running shounen I have seen in a while. On top of the directing and visual quality just being a travesty, the story as presented wasn't very engaging which you'd think would save it given all the praise I have heard about the story of SK's manga over the years. But nope, the plot was bad, the characters, while not being absurdly badly written weren't as well utilized as they could have been, motivations change incredibly flippantly and the comedic timing was bland. Needless to say, not a fan and that is a damn shame.

Well since Hiding-kun asked for comments I'm happy to oblige with my hot take. I believe that most older adaptations from animes that received newer adaptations are a lot more better, and my prime example of this are both FMA and HxH. FMA03 is such a great anime, the atmosphere, the pacing, THE MUSIC, all of this was lacking on FMA Brotherhood, even if it was following the manga more closely, they rushed the beginning too much IMO, so much that the death of certain character wasn't nearly as impactful as the 03 adaptation, they even skipped some chapters from the manga, but they had time to add an original first episode, makes no sense to me. FMAB is not a perfect adaptation and it was good, but it lacked that spark that the original FMA adaptation had. I even loved the original story that was added later in. HxH is another one of those cases, the 99 adaptation has an incredible atmosphere right out of the gate, the music is incredible and memorable, and the animation was on point. Seeing the 2011 adaptation with this glossy, oversaturated look, rushed pacing, again, from stuff that was animated before, they always do this with new adaptations, they did it with FMA too, and more recently with Shaman King too. Not only the HxH 2011 adaptation started this way but they omitted so many stuff from the source material, that including the original introduction of Kite which left so many anime-only watchers confused as to why Gon was so emotionally devastated. They even made an original backstory for him instead of just adapting the first episode of the manga to make Kite and Gon bond as they should. This disappointed me so much. Like a said, these are good adaptations with a lot of good moments but overall left so much to be desired. And that is something I cannot say about Shaman King 2021, it was just a mess from start to finish, it fell soulless and rushed, what was the point of it existing? why adapt something if it's just going to be bad. A good example of a good remake with good pacing, animation and passion put into it is Dragon Quest The Adventures of Dai. It's such a polished experience, I'm so surprised is actually being adapted by Toei Animation, they don't put this much passion and dedication to their flagship series, but they do with this one in particular which is disguntingly underrated outside of Japan, if you have time for a good old school shonen with a new coat of paint, give Dai a try.

This is exactly the feelings me and my brother have, I watched a lot of animes with my brother growing up and the first manga I read and started collecting was naruto, after that I wanted to read more manga and started the only two that my brother had, fullmetal and shaman king, and I absolutely love shaman king, the illustration, story and the vibes the caracthers passed enthralled me, I read so much that I ended up losing 5 volumes while taking them to school, it took us years looking for used volumes to complete the collection once again, after witch I reread and read the sequels and fell in love again. Some time before the remake I saw the Archipel interview with Hiroyuki Takei, it was awesome seeing his vision and how he talked about shaman king made me even more excited when the remake got announced, which makes it even more of a disappointment. something about the new anime felt like it lost the heart and passion that the old one had, I feel the people behind the revival tried to bring it back in a more modern polished form of it but it ended up going against what the series incapsulated, I watched Shaman King in my early 20's and fell in love with it despite rough edges, even finding forms of it above 720p was impossible but I grew up in an era where we didn't have much luxury in watching anime in the best quality so it kinda brought me back. 4kids did heavily censor the show but what they did right was the voice acting, so many nostalgic vc from my youth all in 1 show, Sean Shemmel voice of Goku did Amidamaru and Ryu, Dan Green voice of Yami Yugi & Mewtwo did Silva, Voice of Seto Kaiba & Brock for Marco, Amy rose for Anna, Misty for Pirika, May for Tamao, Ash for Jeane, etc, etc, it rlly felt like atrip down memory lane all the more made greater by this great series, I wish someday it get the proper adaptation it deserves, tho I dont know because Takei even turned down madhouse which I feel could of really brought Shaman King back in the public eye but unfortunately we're in a timeline where we just see other series ripping off it's success

I understand all you meant and it’s not like I disagree. But I just like this 2021 version cause while The animation is lack luster, the characters are highly on model and I just think the colors are much better than the first anime, specially the fire spirt that was weird and pink bubble gum looking and on the 2021 version actually had a very fiery deep red. And there’s other details as well as the good over souls from the manga and not the whole giant things that the old one had. And the story follows the manga which is the best part for me. And it doesn’t shy away from its more violent parts (even tho it doesn’t reach the levels of the manga) like the old version did. So idk, it’s my guilty pleasure I guess? I just like it and flowers will be adapted and I hope to see it look cool too.

(don't mind my bad grammar, it's just that my first language isn't English) I was able to enjoy the first 38 episodes, but after that, even me who was trying to defend it wen't like "bro WHAT IS THIS" it just felt rushed why did I liked the first 38 episodes? Well, maybe cuz I don't like to go pointing out every little detail, I just like to enjoy, maybe it's because I didn't even knew it was a reboot when I first watched so I had no high hopes, but after I did watch the episodes and wen't into research and saw how everyone just hated it and how there was also another anime, I may have got my hopes up, maybe i just wen't like "welp, they saw how it turned out, maybe they will do it different next time" but NOPE my problem wasn't even with the animation, it was with the story telling, the animation look's cool to me, i don't really like to talk bad about animation when I don't fell like I need to, but the story telling, it was bad, when I first watched the first 38 episodes I was like "yeah thats ok" but when the other came it just felt like they could have added so much more JUST FROM WHAT THEY TOLD, it could have made around 6 more episodes just to do a better story telling, 4 episodes to defeat the Patch guys and 2 episodes to the "boss battle" with Hao oh yea when I first watched the reboot I haven't watched the og, but now I did and I can see why people are angry

6:13 Last I checked One Punch Man is still pretty popular. I don't care what people say the second season was not that bad and the story was still great as always. People were just spoiled by lighting in the bottle crew that made first season. Not to mention very hypocritical of them to lambast said art quality when One Punch started and still is being done by ONE in it's stylistic suck webcomic format. What made the series popular was the storytelling and character work. The anime and Manga that elevated art to match it's writing came later. Yet many forget this. Also I know you just did not diss Saint Seiya. The OG Shounen series that many owe laying the groundwork for genre as a whole. Especially since that iteration, Soul of Gold, was a great addition to that franchise. 12:27 - 12:35 I fail to see to how Soul Eater is a Shaman King rip off. That seems to reaching and just projecting some of your own bitterness onto it. It is very much its own thing. Not to mention insulting to said mangaka. Lastly if you want shounen anime/manga that also recently got a second chance, but done right then HIGHLY recommend Dragon Quest: Dai No Bouken/ Adventure of Dai 2020 anime. It still ongoing but in few months time will conclude. Regardless has great quality and supported by a balanced cast with superb writing. It's very much being slept on by most of the anime community despite it's positives.

The first adaptation of Shaman King was one of my first anime. Despite all it's flaws, I still love it dearly. The manga I read much later in life, and yet even it has found a special place in my heart. There are things in the anime, concepts, ideas, that left an impact on me. I can see in the new adaptation that they wanted to show all those ideas, but were dragged down by budget and puny episode quota. I think that ultimately that's what killed this new adaptation -- the episode count. The manga has over 300 chapters, and they (as in, the people whose jobs are to fit an anime into a schedule) gave it only 52 episodes. They let Takei have the original voice cast, as he wanted, but in return gave him a sub-par animation studio and tight schedule. I've read almost every manga Takei has written, and many of them have been cut short, Shaman King being one of them. He had to finish the original manga much sooner than he wanted, and it took him almost 7 years to write and publish the finished version. Since then, he has written a sequel, that also got snuffed. He then, just as he did with the original manga, had to fight tooth and nail to continue the sequel. As of writing this comment, it is still ongoing. So, as long as the mangaka is concerned, he still loves Shaman King dearly. I think the production studio did him dirty.

Like you said in the video the standards for animation in anime are sky rocketing. We’ve been spoiled by shows like demon slayer and jujutsu kaisen so when shows aren’t able to deliver a standard as high as those they’re often going to be over looked and left behind no matter how much potential they have. As someone who watched the first 7 episodes weekly when they were coming out it had a very interesting premise and even though I didn’t read the original scource material,it being a early 2000’s manga naturally it had a nostalgic feel that I think if been paired with amazing animation could’ve definitely took off.

This video could not have come out at a better time for me. I 100% understand how you feel and your thoughts in this video mirror my own recent anxieties as my favorite manga nears adaptation. Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer is an incredibly important Manga to me. It was the first manga I ever read that had no anime. I love that story with every fiber of my being, its one of the best stories ever made to me. And in July it gets its anime adaptation, after over a decade. This is its chance to climb out of obscurity and finally see the fame it deserves. I worry so much, one that it will be a faithful adaptation. But also that it will just slip by again, and fade into insecurity. A few trending sakuga moments can be all it takes to catapult a show into mainstream conscious, but without those, a seasonal waifu, or a large existing audience most shows just slip by on social media. So it would break my heart to see my friends who don't read manga and anime watchers just ignore this show cause the adaptation looked bland. So I understand your disappointment watching Shaman King just kinda slip on by the mainstream again when its writing is better than many current shows, and the feeling unable to recommend to people cause it may just bore them. I want to add that personally I have been really enjoying the new Shaman King adaptation. But I recognize that this comes purely from the strength of its writing and characters. I also recognize that having grown up in that era I have a high tolerance for older anime animation "quirks" and that if I had come from the Manga or watched more of the OG anime I probably would have been disappointed to. Especially when Manga with worse characters and writing (sorry Demon Slayer, I love you but I have issues) are getting some of the greatest animation in modern times, and new shaman king.... looks better than some Isekais and that's it. So thank you for making this video at a very important time for me.

You absolutely sound like someone who fried their dopamine receptors 10 years ago. You watched too many modern shows too fast and completely ruined your ability to enjoy anything that isn't 100% up to current standards. Obviously, animation is very important in anime. No one likes to watch something poor like Berserk 2016, for example. But watching a well made show and being bothered by still frames for no reason other than "it's not 2001 anymore" is such a shallow mindset. Honestly dude, slow down and let your dopamine receptors heal. Shaman King meant a lot to me as well. The Original anime is so full of Soul compared to the remake it's unreal. I'm so fucking sad bro

i can definitely see where you're coming from, but as someone who first heard about it when its second run was announced, and has watched the entire new season of it, never having seen the source material or the older version of the anime, i absolutely adored it. it gave me exactly what i wanted at the time, and it so many emotions in me inebriating. it was a masterpiece of a shounen

For real, Shaman King Reboot is the only Shounen I had any interest in and it delivered everything I wanted. I guess some people are just animation obsessed these days 🤷

@@priestesslucy3299 As someone who grew up with Shaman King, both its 2001 anime and it's original Manga, and isn't a person who is, as you said "animation obsessed", when It comes to the reboot it was around episode 3 that I felt dissapointed. The Lee Pyron fight was noticeably not as well animated as its 2001 counterpart and that's when I started noticing it throughout the reboot. I understood going into that to do a 1:1 adaptation of the manga would be almost impossible in the episode number given and thus the plot would be rushed in a lot of spots, and a lot of the characterization moments would be viewed as superfluous and cut to speed up the process. But I still couldn't help but feel dissapointed by the quality of the animation. Had this been an anime that was a different genre, I wouldn't complain as I'm more for the story than the animation itself, but SK is an Action Battle manga and from those 2 genres I expect more animation for battle especially to be present. Mind you I couldn't be too dissapointed, as the last decade and some change of reboots of things I love (for example Sailor Moon Crystal) has hardened me to be ready for at least some dissapointment, and at least pleased when I'm not as dissapointed as I thought I would be.

Yeah i finished watching it yesterday, basically binged the entire 50 or so episodes in less then a week and its my favorite anime. I do like how even though it was supposed to be like a full action packed anime im glad that its more relaxed and honestly wayy more interesting. The stories for all the characters feel phenomenal and pretty much all of the stories get me close to tears. Although i havent even really begun reading the anime adaptation so my opinions may heavily vary but yeah as of now i saw and still see no flaws for this anime. Idc that its so slow paced and that it has kind of lacking animation quality. I still adored every second of it.

I was like you having only discovered the series because of the remake and I adored it as well. I watched the original anime alongside the remake up to the break for the Olympics which is when I finished the original. I loved the original and I love the remake even more. Shaman King is easily in my top five favourites now and Yohs now my second favourite anime character. I can’t really explain why but the series just really resonated with me. I totally get peoples criticisms of the animation and pacing issues but the remake as is is still better then no remake at all and at least now the canon ending has been animated. I met around a dozen people on Twitter and Reddit that I called friends, three that were really good friends and one that was a really really good friend and even though I’m not friends with any of them anymore I never would have met them had it not been for Shaman King so for that I’m thankful. The last year and a bit was some of the toughest times in my entire life and if I hadn’t gotten into Shaman King I wouldn’t have gone through that stuff but I’d rather have the series in my life then not have it. I can already tell that Flowers/Super Star doesn’t have the charm that the original has and I put that down to Yoh which makes the series even more special.
