Fun fact iron fist and Luke cage are actually a duo in the comics and are great friends. They had a comic called "power man and Iron fist heroes for hire".

Casting overall in the Defenders saga is pretty great with one very notable exception haha. If they bring everyone back and forget Danny then is okay with me lol. I do sort of wonder if they'd ever do a wink and a nod to Blade previously being Cottonmouth from Luke Cage.

I dunno, Cage and Iron Fist fighting is one of the few times "the good guys fight over a misunderstanding that could easily be cleared up with 20 seconds of dialogue" makes sense. Luke is trying to help a kid in trouble, and finds a grown man wailing on a bunch of kids. Danny walked into a massacre of The Chaste and finds a huge built guy protecting the clean-up crew. Normally it's forced but here it actually makes sense

In the comics, Luke and Danny's partnership as Heroes for Hire was an Equalizer/Super Powered P.I.s scenario and were almost certainly the inspiration for Jessica's Alias Investigations. Their co-workers/romantic pertners were Misty Knight and Colleen Wing; total badasses in there own right who, on occasion, partnered up as Sisters of the Dragon. I do love the dynamic of the brains half of the team in Matt and Jessica, and the muscle side of the team in Danny and Luke. As much as Danny and Luke aren't specifically dumb, they're clearly the act before thinking types, and it's a better pairing for the two of them to make contact than if one of the other two were the first to engage either of them.

I did think that Iron Fist season 2 was a big improvement. Of course, I don't hate season 1 as much as most people seem to. It's not great, but it's still fairly entertaining. I'd contrast that with season 1 of Luke Cage, which I thought was higher quality, but less entertaining, if that makes any sense. Anyway, if you accept that season 1 of Iron Fist is schlock and enjoy it for what it is, and you can get past how annoying Danny is (and frankly, that's by far my biggest objection to the show, and a detriment to The Defenders as well), it's... okay-ish. But both Danny and the rest of the show are significantly improved in season 2.

Glad you guys are back! Can't wait for season 3 of Daredevil! I think Defenders was always meant to have just one season. At least with the way it ended, it seemed that way to me. They came together to take care of a threat that started off as a singular one in season 1 of Daredevil, had a direct connection with Iron Fist's story in season 1 of the titular show, and then expanded in season 2 of Daredevil to then culminate here. Daredevil deals the most with the fallout of this show, but I think with the way the subsequent seasons of the other shows went, there would've been no need for a season 2.

In the comics, it was once commented that they weren't a team. They were just a bunch of heroes that found themselves together when the fight got too big for one alone.

In the comics Jessica Jones is considered one of marvels greatest detectives, so beyond having crazy strength and invulnerability, and she flies in the comics depending on the run, she at very least jumps real far sorta like the hulk, but her skills I'd say are in the detective work she does.. if you ever see a marvels greatest detectives lists, she'll make a very short list...

I have always thought that the big mission statement was to make us all happy Danny got beat up and told he is wrong so much. It sort of worked too, the second season of Iron Fist is so much better (like I might say better than the second season of Luke Cage but that might still be because that ended weird) but it also is more Collen's story than Danny's. But I did like this better on my recent rewatch than I did the first time. It just has what tends to be a Marvel issue, the bad guy is kind of eh. Which is unfortunate. Because the Hand was a good background bad guy for Daredevil and they explained it better in Iron Fist since Danny was trained to know them as an enemy. The weird angles stop if memory serves, and Matt and Jessica are one of the funnest pairings, and I sense more Daredevil and JJ directors took over.

The Iron Fist and Uke Cage first meeting actuly mad sense that they didn't talk first. Danny was about to fight the kid thstbluke went there to help. O there was not "let's talk firt" moment. I had no gripe with that.

I've watched this series at least twice through, probably more in pieces, and I *never* noticed the camera angles. That kind of thing isn't something I pay much attention to so it doesn't usually bother me. Idk that I'm gonna be able to not see it anymore though lol

i would keep going on this series. Yeah it might be a bit of a slowish burn at the start, but it is soooo very important in the interconnection with the rest of the Netflix Marvel shows, especially Daredevil season 3. you would be very lost and asking yourself too many questions if you had jumped right into season 3 and bypass this. and believe it or not, Iron fist wasnt too bad. seaon 2 was defintetly way better than season 1. But i think allot of the non-comicbook readers misunderstood the premise of the IP. everyone thought they were whitewashing the character when in fact he has been this way since he was created and is a key part of his backstory. Also Luke Cage and Danny Rand are a very deep rooted team in the comics especially back in the 70's and 80's with Powerman and Iron Fist and later on when they formed "Hero's for Hire" with Jessica Jones (in the comics she and Cage were married with a kid).

React to the whole series... sometimes putting voice to some of the problems (like the angle shots that distract more than they help) is beneficial. Some people aren't willing to figure out what it is they don't like about something, and just say 'sucked' and dismiss it... but talking about why something doesn't work is often as important as talking about what does.

elektra natchios is a better version of the black widow when it comes to combat, but as the black sky she also have superhuman powers, like super strength and super durability etc, jessica is about 3 times or 3.3333333333333333 times stronger than luke, and used to have the ability to fly when she went as the hero Jewel, but does not have unbreakable skin like luke the iron fist is one of the best martial artist on the planet, he asked Shang-Chi to train him a few times as Shang-Chi is the absolute best martial artist on the planet, far above anyone else, which is why he can defeat superpowered people without having anything thing augmenting him.

I felt like it had some promise, and was building in the right direction, but kind of fizzled later on. I'd say that it's not so much bad as it is disappointing, considering what it could've been. Still, pulling together characters from four different shows to make a cohesive story can't be easy, and it could definitely have been a lot worse.

for some reason whatever they showed in the highlight itself made the episode seem boring. I've only seen Defenders once, shortly after it first came out. But I guess it picks up once the team assembles.
