I have watched this at least 10 times a year for the last 13 years. I seriously don't think I would have been able to write my Master's thesis if it wasn't for this man.
I actually have that whole saying as a Mug Ha!Ha!Ha! It sits on the Top of my Bookshelf in the Living Room for all to get good laugh at it while it's up there next to a stuffed plushy Poo Emoji Ha!Ha!Ha!

This was so popular at my old job that so many of these phrases became 100% legal and binding vernacular in meetings and calls. I remember a machine operator pretending to swat an imaginary fly as I walked by, and another manager would regularly say “I’m gonna give a clue here now” in meetings. Never thought i would miss that job, but seeing this I do. We had a manager named tony we would regularly ask for a towel, when you had to climb the ladders to the resin system you’d yell the “gonna fall off the f*ckin thing “ line. Memories.
Worked in the dub room at a production co. where we circulated the tape of this to everyone back in the late 90s. “Would you do me a kindness?” “Slate this fucker” and “GOD DAMN SON OF A BITCH!” were the catchphrases that caught on the most.
Not good to say the Lord’s Name in vain! It places your eternal soul in peril after you die. Laugh, mock, sling your best insults at me, but in the end, you’re going to wish you had listened.
By all accounts I can find, Jack Rebney is still out there living his best life in the Northern California wilderness as of 2022 and it warms my heart. EDIT: 5/11/23 - Just found out about Jack’s passing. An absolute legend. Rest In Power.

sdry That is essentially the finding of the documentary: he is a symbol of the human condition; frustration and effort and not giving up. He accepts that is just the embodiment of the human spirit. It is a good documentary.
Cosmic Perspective It was 100 degrees and like 98% humidity. You obviously have never been to the taping of a movie. You’re dealing with machines that are failing, hot production lights, wildlife, it is already really hot outside, there is a schedule, sound editors, and a lot more. Trust me: nothing easy or “super easy.”
If you’re not already there, when you get to a certain age, you’ll also be speaking the same way. It starts around age 40 and just progresses from there.

It's very consoling, when someone else goes over the deep end, it relaxes you, lets you off the hook. This is really good therapy, and I want to thank you Jack for this gift. There's a universal truth in your tirades that translates to others frustration dealing with life and it's complexities. Laugh and you laugh with all, cry, and you cry alone.
This is art. I don't mean that the video is a piece of art, although it is, especially the editing. What I mean is that this is the struggle of man and his attempt to create. A person is struck with a vision and is forcing themselves to create that vision within the limitations of reality. You may not have all of the tools or abilities (acting...the ability to memorize pointless lines and deliver them over and over is a skill that requires practice) the technology or setting may fail you (shit falling out of the hood, bright lights needed even in the heat of direct sunlight, late 80's video quality) Or nature itself defies your vision. (heat, and...FLIES!!) Regardless, the artist struggles on and curses and fights with reality itself. An amazing metaphor for the process of creating art.
The most hilarious parts of this video are the parts where you see a profile shot of the RV, and Jack Rebney cursing up a storm off camera or just out of frame. There's just something about those shots that make me completely lose it at times.

For everyone enjoying this, please make sure you watch the Winnebago Man documentary. This video sort of ruined his life but it ends with a semi happy ending. It’s a good way to spend 90 minutes on a rainy day.
