As a Belgian, you got “de frituur” and no fastfood chains can compete with the local “frituur” we see it as 2 completely different types of food. So MD and BK are just extra and do not compete with the small local “frituurs”

It's true, technically there has only ever been 1 local "competitor" which is Quick, but they've been bought out by BK a long time ago, that plug can be pulled at any time for no loss whatsoever

1:25 Ref tunnel to nowhere. That's the Komorjak tunnel. Supposed to connect the town of Omis to various highways. They ran out of money in 2018. but they found some more and finished drilling it in 2021. As of 2021 they still need to build a bridge to it from the connecting highway. As of Jan 2023 the bridge is almost complete. there's a gap in the middle. You could jump it and make for an exciting commute.

As a German living in The Netherlands, I can confirm that the bread over here is sadly lacking - it rips if you try to put butter on it with a knife... yes, even the soft butter!
