Love what was said about the slurs in this movie, and how Scorsese strives for realism. Likewise, Billy Eichner just released Bros, and someone in the LGBTQ+ community thanked him for his use of the F-word slur. He said it added to the realism, because that word is used so much inside the community; to convey a myriad of emotions. Similar to the N-word among the black community. I do not fault a director for feeling the need to include as much as he can, to add to the realism. Anyone who has an issue with that is relatively simple minded, uncultured, and ignorant.

How are you comparing a snooze fest like GWH to this? Don't get me wrong, that's a decent film, but this is an certified wild ride of a master crafted narrative regardless of medium. Almost reminiscent of Cormac Mccarthy in the way it displays *real* complexity in a way that is merely semi-digestible on a commercial level. Watch it for the grounded action, watch it for the dramatic thrills, watch it as a historical fanfic; it's a top shelf cinematic experience. And Brad Pitt doesn't do accents.......? Any of ya see "Snatch"? NBNB: people can't have complained that old school cops and criminals were portrayed as bigoted individuals... Racism and homophobia in the Boston underworld and police force!? Absolutely unheard of....
