This is just a lovely version of the song. I'm actually a detectorist and I love the show. My name is Lance like the main character and by chance I use the same metal detector as him.
Great Job! I lived in England in the 90s and felt something special about the whole place...spiritual even. I found this show a few years ago and couldn't get my fill. Now I found it again in 2023 online. Thanks for the song, loved it.
For me there are two types of Music..... Good music and Bad Music....... This is Good Music.... Very Very Good Music..... Almost tear inducing........I wish you much success.... :-))))
Lovely. The rendition is great, as is the original song. My wife and I also very much enjoyed the television show. You've got a new subscriber. Cheers from Oregon, USA.
Really nice cover of a great song. Thanks for this. (Just binge-watched the show. Wife's a medieval history prof. and we're both folkie-traddies so this is much appreciated.)
I love this song. Came across your rendition by chance as I started working on my channel this morning and it got me in the right frame of mind for the day. Love your voices and playing (my daughter plays the recorder semi-professionally so I appreciate flutes and woodwind!) Thanks guys!
I always think the verse Johnny Flynn wrote to make the song longer should be sung as the second verse because the fact that a love lost at sea is “waiting for you” is the climax of the song. Anyway, thanks. It’s nice to hear a different version. Incidentally, it’s “the loamy earth”, not lonely.
So well done to you both. I'm learnigng the song and finding it easier following the way you play it. McKenzie Crook is mow a National Living Treasure.
Theme to the best sitcom ever - beautiful settings where nothing seems to happen but really quickly. I was on a football forum earlier and someone posted a pic of Simon and Garfunkel. The response? Its the Dirtsharks !!! Lovely version of the theme - you know this show thankfully also brought the Unthanks to my attention. So many levels.
