I doubt you’ll read this, but I really appreciate your content. I used to be over 300lbs and recently hit my goal weight of about 185-190. I’m standing at 5’11”, so it’s pretty solid for me. I’m stronger and leaner than I’ve ever been. I remember when I found your channel. I had pretty much exhausted all other RU-vid channels. They’d all turned to calorie challenges, etc. But you never strayed away from pure fitness, and nutrition content. I’ve watched every video you’ve put out ever since, and I truly think that you’re still incredibly underrated on here. With your knowledge, and my willpower, I did lose my last 50+ pounds and become who I am today. So truly, from the bottom of my heart, thanks Joe.

@jimmason8502
@jimmason8502 Год назад
As a hard core foodie/wine guy I think there is definitely something there about the palate bit. I'm always looking for "tasty" food so when the cravings hit I go for over the top salty foods like Doritos or overly sweet like those giant Fruit and Nut bars. I think once you get used to bland foods those salty/sweet cravings might diminish somewhat. I'm gonna give it a try anyway.
@majesty50

@@rasengan37 veganism kinda a fad too, I get it was for people who didn’t want to eat animal products, but it’s turned from just that to people trying to debate and shame people who eat meat. It’s turned from ’ethics’ to a joke

You (and Natacha Oceane) have the healthiest, most sustainable approach to health and fitness. After having consumed too much of the (borderline ED) clean-eating/orthorexic content of the 2010's, and after having spent the majority of my adult life yo-yo dieting, I'm excited to just eat, live and move consciously. I especially love the idea that my diet "shouldn't have name". sounds so fucking liberating, honestly.

I'm an older guy who found your channel a few years back. The advice you give and knowledge you share has been invaluable to me. When I first started training I was 16.5 stone of flab, very little muscle to speak of and in terrible shape. After watching countless different channels and so on I realised I wasn't getting anywhere, they were either too advanced for me, too strict or a combination of things that were just out of my reach in my current shape. Then I started watching your stuff, it was chilled, laid back, told me what I needed to know in simple terms, didn't set unobtainable goals and made me realise that I didn't have to approach it like Jeff Cavaliere, (although he's sound and gives good advice) It's been working for me, a change of eating habits happened first, nothing too crazy, still had a takeaway at the weekend, a few drinks, the odd treat, but kept training consistently, including basic cardio, just walking about, over 24 months I lost 4 stone. Then I started training a bit heavier, added more protein and put on a 1.5 stone of mostly muscle. I'd guess I'm at around 20% body fat now, so a little soft around the middle, but at 6'1" I look pretty good, especially for 48 years old, decent dad bod. More importantly, I feel 15 years younger. Cheers Joey lad, for showing me how it's done without having to get obsessive about it.

Agree with most of what you said. Solid advice for people wanting to enjoy the process of living a healthy life and meeting other goals. But salt and pepper are great for making foods palatable. I agree with some people they could trigger binges or missing out on flavor. Just don't over do it. Balanced spices/salt enchance natural flavors. I grapple and box and the benfit of adding extra salt here and there also helps my endurance, performace & recovery. awesome video, great perspective.
