Great video and information. I recently got a hand me down 8 ounce popcorn popper, so I decided to learn how to use and take care of it. Using dry white powder kettle cleaner for the inside of the kettle removes black carbon buildup that will eventually cause the popped popcorn to get a "dirty" taste. Most people would not notice this filthy flavor unless it is really bad from the kettle inside being black from the excess carbon buildup. My popper was black on the inside after 4 plus years of no cleaning it after use. At first, I was going to look for a replacement kettle for the popcorn popper unit I was given. I suddenly thought one day that maybe I could have it cleaned, so I called my local concession equipment and supplies dealer in my area. I told the very nice person who answered my call about my dirty popcorn kettle. He told me about a dry powder cleaner they sell that I can use. I drove to this distributor a few days later and they taught me how to use the cleaner. I asked about different types of popcorn, and they told me about butterfly and mushroom popcorn and how they are different. I purchased a 50 pound bag of large butterfly popcorn while I was there along with some FLAVACOL popcorn seasoning and the kettle cleaner. When I got home, I used that cleaner in my popcorn kettle. After about 4 days of letting the cleaner mixed with water sit inside of the kettle for about 8 hours each cleaning cycle, I noticed the black carbon buildup was going away. After the 5th cleaning session, the inside of the kettle was SILVER. I did a final water only rinse, dried it out, and made a batch of popcorn with that large butterfly popcorn. Along with the Flavacol seasoning I got plus some pure unrefined cold pressed coconut oil, my first batch was a big suprise. The popcorn was REALLY GOOD, as if it was popped in a brand new kettle. That butterfly large size popcorn with the butter flavor seasoning, and the pure coconut oil produced popcorn that was MOVIE THEATER POPCORN. I learned that day that not all popcorn is the same in terms of quality and is not always nice, big, and fluffy. However, the popcorn I bought at the concession supply produces big and fluffy popcorn. It is "MAXI POP POPCORN #2745 by GOLD MEDAL. It is worth buying 50 pounds of it just to have this professional quality popcorn at home. After doing a little math, this popcorn itself costs about 85 cents per pound, verses a 1 pound bag at the grocery store at about $1 and 25 cents in United States Dollars. Add in the cost of the popping oil and seasoning popcorn salt, it's about 1 dollar per 8 ounce batch!! This would cost nearly 5 dollars at a theater, carnival, or stadium snack bar. After every day I use the popper for 1, 2, or even 3 batches of popcorn, I use the same kettle cleaner for just 30 minutes of soak time after use. My popcorn kettle stays clean and silver on the inside after just ONE simple kettle cleaner session; it has not been black and dirty on the kettle inside ever since I took it home and cleaned it. Now I will keep using the kettle until it quits working.
So. I just did a quick research on GMO corn in the United States. Several websites stated that 93% of corn grown in the US is GMO. So. When I said corn in the US is a GMO product, I was technically right.
I’m in love with the business idea I would love to start my own soon I have been thinking of this for months since I’ve seen my local drive in theater doesn’t have anything type of vendor around
