Digital transformation is probably the biggest and most influential trends that managers have to tackle. "Companies need to assess if their current business model is still suited for the future”, explains IESE professor of Information Technologies Sandra Sieber. "The moment you start seeing significant amount of start-up activity in one sector”, she says, “someone is having a vision of an industry different than the one we have in our mind”. And so firms need to engage in this digital transformation journey as early as possible, when their traditional business is still profitable, in order to leverage their current competitive advantage.
