@@sykesfromsharktale1464 I've actually been back on and off for a while since they changed the skill trees. Even played a bit of the 1v1 event today. The game has improved with the new maps, and changes to some of the old ones. Rotato Potato is still the bane of my existence though.

You won't be able to go 10 seconds in a round without 100 tons of scrub blowing themselves to Kingdom Come. See that hill? Direstar. Rock? Direstar. Pile of molten scrap? *Five* Direstars. There's a locust in my lance, _and it's driving a Direstar._ I can see it now, my mech poking a corner, only to come face-to-face with a pre-aimed alpha strike. I'd like my life to flash before my eyes, but it CAN'T, as I'm blinded by the eleven ERPPC bolts consuming my field of view, careening towards my face! TBH, so much of this is Kisumi Kitsune's fault. She baked a big plate of cookies, and not for a second considered what would happen when she unleashed them upon the world. Now she's laughing hysterically at us all, because that's what she does in a Direstar. If you'll excuse me, I gotta go pay the pizza guy. Naturally, being delivered in a Direstar!
@@R4V3-0N it does hold a bit more oomph for the clan versions however. IS ERPPC does 10 damage, Clan ERPPC does 15. That's 50% more damage per weapon. That is colossal on a mech which can field 11 of them at a time.
Remember in Mechwarrior 3 where overheating caused you to explode into a mushroom cloud? Imagine if that was possible in MWO. If the PPCs don't kill you, the mushroom cloud would.
@@Hugmir Back in the beta it used to be a thing, as well as knockdowns. Because knockdowns were based on how fast you were impacted by another mech, lights were absolutely the best at knocking you down. And since generator explosions did huge amounts of damage, Lights were the most damaging mechs in the game. If you ever had two or three people remotely close to one another and someone popped a light up close, you could all die or be crippled.
Now, y'see, _this_ is why we can't have nice things in _MWO_... ;_; Incredibly impractical... but sooooo worth it!! And just to rub salt in the wound, if you blow yourself up from overheating, the enemy can't get retribution by killing you themselves. XD
There is something wholesome about B33F's trolling. Few people on youtube are able to extract so much salt while still remaining a complete gentleman. The combination of big brain plays, comedy gold, and pure skill makes for some of the best MWO vids this side of the Milky Way. He uploaded again recently and I'm binge watching all his vids again. I hope he gets time to make more epic masterpieces.
Yeah excepted most of them are actually super hard to destroy (GX-9901-DX Gundam Double X, XXXG-00W0 Wing Gundam Zero, GN-0000+GNR-010 Gundam 00 Raiser, etc)

Survived against two of these yesterday on terra therma. The first on got my whole right side and then overheated to death slowly and the second one missed then overrides and then missed again and instantly exploded.

I couldn't help myself but recreate the Dire Star on a BattleTech record sheet and tested it with me in a Vulture C and "you" in the Daishi.I crested a hill and immediately my Center Torso got shot out but because of BattleTech's handling of letting units attack before they're considered destroyed at the end of the weapon phase, I managed to somehow, *somehow*, headshot b33f's Daishi. Not that it helped any because I got knocked out as my dead Vulture fell down the hillside.

As TheB33f has shown, 11 PPCs is oftentimes overkill for alot of mechs, and is murder towards your heat management. If you want to get serious with this trollish build, of if you wish to actually conserve heat with this, then try one of 2 things: 1. Group fire your PPCs. That is, have PPCs shoot, say, 6 at a time, or 3 at a time. Could be useful for finishing off weakened or light mechs, and you can still opt to alpha strike should you encounter a healthy assault mech. 2. Chain fire your PPCs if you're unsure just how much is needed to kill an enemy mech. Remember to override your shutdown sequence if need be.
+ShadowWolfTJC B33f probably could too, he is a very skilled pilot, but I think his the alpha strike is not in mind of game sense. B33f is the only humor based MWO youtuber with some popularity, has trying to create an entertaining video, and wants to make us laugh with a cheesy dire wolf build, that's why beef goes all out

This reminds me a lot of my Super Nova from MW4 that had as many large lasers on as physically possible, it would one shot most mechs and 2 shot the heaviest assaults, priceless. This build is just fucking hilarious, awesome vid :)
+Predator459 I did something similar with Timber Wolf in the MW3 Demo. Enough lasers to blow anything up with one hit but resulted in instant shutdown :P When I attempted the same thing in the full game, I instantly blew up instead.
+Predator459 yeah sniper novas, i remember those from multiplayer matches with heat options turned off. Half player was so abusive with it lol it was litteraly nightmare to move anywhere on open.They would sit on top of some mountain peak with sensor turned off peaking over with 3rd person perspective then pop out in sec to fire and back off to cover again.Took only 2 shots to take daisy or atlas out, or one shot with 2 snipers workin together. Common counter was missleboat loki with high speed to go full circle around map to get behind them then salvo them from behind over their laser range. Lol then they would pop out on other side of hill to take cover from missle barrage and expose themself to everyone in our team xD We called that flushing xD
In MW3 I had a Owens with 12 Small Lasers, increased engine size, and a MASC; it would hit and run heavies with one to two shots at about 148KPH. On snow maps I was a god, hahahaha.

Every time the B33f Alphas in his goddamn Direstar, He flash fries himself with the sudden heat spike and somehow survives upto the point his mech self-destructs due to the heat
12 C ER PPCs going off at once... is an obscene amount of heat. There's not enough heat sinks in the Inner Sphere to keep that thing cool. You could flash boil a small lake with that much heat!
