This is my cousin and her husband. This was horrific and heartbreaking for our family. Thank you for actually doing your research before making this. So many have made videos that are so off. The details are not even close. I believe if you are going to try and go over a case then you need to know what you are talking about. This has been the most honest and correct video that I have seen so far. We are still waiting on justice to this day. Please everyone pray that we get our justice for our family soon.

I hope he’s convicted and put away for good. I’ve been following this case since it happened as I was living in East Cobb at the time. When I moved to Cartersville shortly thereafter; this case was the reason I installed a whole-house security system. I learned for myself just a year later how terrifying neighbors can suddenly be when my own next door neighbor suddenly lost it. He randomly came home with a pit bull one day which he tied up in *our* yard. My boyfriend went to ask him to please take his dog inside or at least to his own yard, and he mumbled back nonsense (but he did take the dog in so we carried on back to usual). Hours later he shot up his workplace, murdering his supervisor, then ran his truck *through* a strip mall, before ending his own life once surrounded by police. We didn’t find out about it until the next day since he worked all the way up in Chattanooga, TN, but I frequently think about how luckily we were not to have become victims ourselves when we approached him about his dog literally right before he went on his rampage. I mention all this to say how sorry I am that your cousin and her husband were not so lucky. It could happen to anyone- these monsters need to be put away for good, and hopefully in the near future we can find ways to find them and force them into inpatient treatment *before* things like this happen.

Both did extensive interviews, and concluded I was paranoid. Later my son was diagnosed as bipolar, and had been using pot for years. He later told me it’s easy to lie to therapists, and he had, at the age of 11, been able to manipulate the counselors to believe there was nothing wrong with him. @pizzlerot2730
@pizzlerot2730 Год назад
Tbf, it was probably more to just acknowledge to the dog that he isn't a threat. Dogs in general tend to respond with suspicion and hostility to people who carry themselves in an official or commanding manner, especially if they're in a uniform of some kind. I'd imagine the first thing on any cop's mind when they see a dog is, "this is a potential threat," just because of how dogs tend to respond to them and how they're used by criminals. I was actually surprised that the dog responded so kindly with all the tension that must have been in the air and the cop walking up so quickly, though a lot of that is probably because of how the owner acted towards him, and also just being a typical goobery black lab ❤️ (Just to be clear, no hate on dogs at all, I'm a veterinarian so just trying to look at it from the POV of animal behavior)

Well, he wasn't exactly wrong about the government spying on him, because the government indeed does spy on its own citizens. The planes the police allegedly sent, he was talking about, could have been drones, used for surveillance - after all no one knew there was a drone flying above in Rittenhouse case until the trial started. They could have sent one, just to make sure and see how he acts and he by chance detected them. Of course the more likely scenario is he was seeing things. His obsession with the family though is a total mystery to me, probably thought they were agents or something in his damaged mind (thanks to one guy who once decided lead in gasoline would be a good idea in the early 1900s, which created such diseases in the first place, and it goes on generation after generation to this day). Of course I don't think the government gave him the time of the day, ever, they have powerful players to invigilate for their own political benefits. The brother could simply feel pressure from society, was mad and sad at the same time. Maybe something was destroyed in his life and he blamed the neighbor. He was on a suecide mission after he killed said neighbors. Or he was simply as effed up as his brother, but what's weird, normally schizos don't obsess over the same thing. The trial will reveal everything, so buckle up, you're gonna wait some time.

He had no way of knowing what would happen. It is not like he could have just kept the house, and kept paying taxes on a house he couldn't live in. The whole situation should have been handled differently by the courts, and family, in my opinion anyway. The old neighbors did everything they could do really. They shouldn't feel any guilt. It must have been awful to buy such a beautiful house and then the neighbor is a violent, mentally ill, and unstable man, who won't get help, and actually wants to start issues.

As a police officer myself, I HIGHLY recommend when anyone buys a home, moves into an apartment, etc., conduct an open records check within the city and county (both of them) referencing any in-house issues or history from that home, and this will contain Police, Fire, EMS, and Federal Agencies (for ex, if the FBI conducted a raid at 123 Main St, they usually enlist the help of local PD but if they don’t, they still put in a call for service in the event neighbors call in a break in or whatnot at that location, so there’s always a record of it). Use this information when choosing a new home. I’m not judging or Monday Morning Quarterbacking this lovely family who were senselessly taken from us and their loved ones. I’m only telling you all to help prevent (or try to) this from happening again. People only know what they know. Shame on their realtor for not disclosing that, as most states have a requirement for realtors to disclose those types of things. Hell, realtors in several states HAVE to inform people if the property for sale is reported haunted 👻 Regardless, my ❤ and 🙏 go out to the family and friends of this lovely couple. @@kylem3295 Don't be a jerk, there's no reason for it. A big reason a lot of us watch these kind of channels/reports/stories about true crime is; because we want to know how we can tell, ahead of time, that we are in the cross hairs of a killer or other type of criminal. We want to know more about who DOES murder others & I'm telling you, I never would've thought a lot of the ones who do kill without conscience would've been murderers. We have little resources to draw from, to be able to sense trouble like that when it's near us.. Most killers are extremely manipulative & so are those who commit every other kind of crime. Knowledge, info can sometimes be the difference between life and death. How they catch killers is very interesting to me too; the forensic tests & collecting of specimens & samples & the different techniques, the ability to view a crime scene & figure out what happened when, how they interview witnesses & how to do that skillfully, thoroughly, all matters in catching these killers. I know this type of video may not be for all people, yet there are a lot of us who also HAVE BEEN victims of some very serious crimes ourselves, and those whose loved ones have been murdered as well, and just maybe some of us want to understand how killers may think just a bit more, in order to protect ourseles and our loved ones better..Knowing what has and has not worked for victims in different situations as victims may also be of calue to help others escape from being killed by a nut or a perfectly calm evil person......

My big brother has it too and he has been involuntarily committed to a psych hospital countless times, and the police called countless times, but they keep letting him out damn well knowing that he's insane. Thankfully I live a few hours away from him, but our dad is fully involved in trying to get my brother help, but he is just getting worse and worse and crazier and crazier. We told police officers and doctors and therapists how we think my brother is absolutely capable of severely hurting or killing somebody (has been violent and hurt my dad) but they literally do nothing about it. I really hope I'm wrong about this but my brother is a ticking time bomb and I'm scared of him. Blaming the mental health treatment system or mental health professionals won't help here. People really misunderstand the effectiveness of treatment. Psychiatric prescribers and therapists can't just fix people. We need better meds and treatments. There is a lot we don't know about the minds. A huge percentage of people with schizophrenia don't respond to antipsychotic medication (like around 20% at least). Another significant cluster of people only partially respond to antipsychotic medication. Psychotherapy has very limited effectiveness for delusions. Also, there is no easy answer to the issue of maintaining patient rights. There is a long history of psychiatrists having way too much power and abusing it (having people locked up who should not have been, keeping people in long term psychiatric centers without justification, ordering treatments that are not evidence based, etc). People often seem to want a kind of authoritarian response from some government appointed psychiatrist or something without considering the unintended consequences of this as well as the fact that you can only control people so much when they're that delusional anyway. But yeah please don't put unrealistic expectations on mental health professionals. It won't help.

@@1DangerMouse1 lol you're so misguided if you think I'm blaming mental health professionals. If anything, it's lawmakers because we aren't allowed to commit violent schizophrenics until they do irreparable damage to somebody else or themselves. But even if they are committed, like you said, meds really don't do anything for a lot of them, and there's a lot of cases where they just won't get better despite anything. I agree with a lot of you said, except the part where you said I'm blaming mental health professionals, especially since I used to work in mental health myself. There's a reason we have an exploding homelessness problem, it is almost impossible to get people who need supervised care help "against their will", and no place to put them to get it. @Russ Olson Didn't intend to imply it was the only reason, but if you look at the data the percentage of seriously mentally ill people rotating between the streets and jail tracks very well with the decrease in long-term and supervised psychiatric care beds. When you add in drug addiction the Venn diagram starts to converge as ill people self-medicate with drugs and alcohol, and serious addiction causes psychosis. The concerted effort beginning in the '50s to dismantle the psychiatric health care system in this country, without any realistic replacement being proffered can be directly tied to many of the societal degradation issues we see. It is neither humane nor merciful nor respectful to enable damaged people to commit slow-motion public suicide rather than taking them into supervised care.

I am the parent of a mentally ill son. We had him in therapy for most of his childhood. He rotated in and out of mental health facilities for most of his teenaged years. When he committed a terrible crime at the age of 17 1/2 he was sent to a rather jail like mental health facility. We were then given the option of being deported with him or letting him be deported alone. As he was in a secure facility, we tried desperately to get him into a residential program in the States. He took matters into his own hands the day he turned 18 and fled Europe to go with a fellow mental patient to the States. Made our decision moot. We were then told that because he was legally an adult, we had no say in whatever happened to him. So, I cannot blame the parents. I believe they probably loved their sons and wanted what was best for them. Sometimes, no matter how hard one tries to do the right thing, things just go horribly wrong. I feel for the parents. I know the helpless feeling when one cannot do a damned thing to help one's child.

This is my cousin and her husband that were killed. They had just moved in and Matthew was away at college. He didn’t live at home with his parents so he had never met my family members. We do wonder if once he got in the house, did he realize the error and still kill them. We arent sure if he has ever met the previous owners since he was living in Athens and I don’t think they had been living in the house long either. So many questions that we still need answers to.

We had a lot of neighbor trouble, it cost us 10 years of miserableness 3 lawyers and 75 grad. We were tired of getting shot at and our house broken into. We moved 800 miles away. Best thing we ever did. Our poor dogs were poisoned. My husband almost lost his shite over this. We had to get out.

I had a similar situation. The man next door was absolutely unhinged. He poisoned and killed one of my dogs. Tried to shoot the other. Any time I would mow the lawn he would freak the hell out on me. I couldn't even order delivery because I was worried about them pulling in the wrong driveway and being shot by him. He used to sit in the front entryway with his shotgun. He started a fire in my shed. Like it was just insane. At first, I didn't realize it was him, then I couldn't prove it was him, or that he was doing anything. The cops were trying to help me but like... it was so hard to finally get him on something. I put cameras up but he somehow got around them. Invested in even more cameras so there was no way he could avoid them all. Eventually, when he poisoned my dog, I thought we finally had him. It was on camera and my dog died. Then he was released on bond. When he was released I took my other dog and left to a friend's house. I didn't know what to do. I couldn't morally sell and have him start the torture of some other innocent family when they moved in. It was taken out of my hands two weeks later. He shot an innocent man out walking his dog. The dog stepped like 5 feet onto his lawn.. and he ran out and got into a screaming match with the guy and shot him. He went to prison for 25 to life. Some people are just fucking insane and there is no helping them.

I'm just thinking how malevolent or sick people focus on a household. There were 2 brothers who bothered us, were on the property and more, for many years as they grew up. I lost 2 cats. Inside, things were moved or went missing. The charger for a vacuum, and one of a pair of shoes, lots of times, over the years. Car exterior mirrors whacked flat. That kind of stuff. My house and garage were their playhouse and we people and animals, their toys. People are asking about the parents of this film and crime. Well, if I said anything to the mother, "How do you know it was my boys?" And the father would either say, "I'll talk to them." or "Not my boys!" In our case we were chosen for the fun because of proximity, and because we were 2 women. I personally know 3 other single women homeowners who sold and moved because a neighbor singled them out for some kind of funny stuff. Another who should, and a friend who changed apartments because of it. I was told to set up cameras, too. Wish I had.
