My character is at SHD 8500+ and I am at expertise level 26. All the weapons that I regularly use are at level 26 and all of my gear are at level 20 or above. The amount of grinding it took to get there cost me 3165 hours of game time. I finally have my character where I want it to be. Why in this world would I want to shelve this character to start a new one from scratch. The worst part of all this is I can only use my main character after 3.5 months and only then for two weeks. So, in the entire year I can only use my main character (the one I have invested so much time and effort in) for only six weeks. Six weeks! Sometime this fall, when Season 2.0 shows up, I am out of the Division 2.
Forcing you to have a 2nd character that do not have access to your stash or library, so every season you will start with nothing. So how does this sound fun?
Took me 7 months to perfect my Providence DPS build. That was before optimization came out but you completely understand the massive investment of time and effort required by players to put together and perfect builds in this game. For them to tell me they understand how important my main character is and then relegate that character to a 2 week intermission period between seasons is straight up gaslighting.
Since the comment above, I've quit the game entirely. I've deconstructed all of my weapons and gear, deleted my two characters and uninstalled the game. For me, The Division 2 has reached a level where I'm just not interested anymore. I have a few other games that I want to play and now I have some time to do it.
In the end I don’t care what could possibly be their reason for doing this. Theyare doing it. We gave the feedback. They didn’t take it. So why would I continue to support?
So the community has spoken they should scrap everything and go back on the thinking oard take notes and give us what we need and owed. It wont be hard to cancel the seasonal 2.0 since they easily canceled Heartland After so many years.
If they did a comment period, that would be 1 thing, but implement it to cater to a group of people who aren't gonna play, give div 2 new content to hold us over, put the changes in div 3
my character will sit idol until the dlc. if they tie the seasonal character to the MAIN story line where i can only use my MAIN character 20% of the time for that and not full then they arent getting a cent from me and well... the game will be uninstalled
I've got 4 accounts. 1 ps4, 1 xbox, 2 pc. All of them around shd 7000. I've just uninstalled the game and I'm probably gonna switch to The First Descendant when it comes out.. Free 2 play btw 🎉
Why the letting people use their mains to play the season content for only the final two weeks? Why not 2 months? Or for the entire season? Changing a fundamental way the game plays 6 years in is not a way to retain players. I only have 1 toon, have never made an alt to reap the shd watch materials loot. I do not like leveling characters at all. Today I said siyonara to my clan, deleted my TD2 discord channels, uninstalled game, and decided TD3 is nothing to look forward to anymore. F Ubisoft
The bottom line is and they continue to prove this point "The Developers have no idea what to do." We see it over and over again with this group. The loyal Div 2 players are all but gone, and this game is not attracting new players because it is boring, and it takes too much math to play this game. Just get rid of the million gear sets and give us a 1,2,3,4,5 mod slot gear. Make Providence or others 1 mod, which gives you all the benefits of having 3 pieces. Make it really open world like first decendant. Make the battles epic taking a control point involves a massive fight. Bosses need to be tough, and stop making NPC HIDE AND SOMERSAULT.
Sadly Ubisoft does not care what the community wants, from my understanding Ubisoft they want us the players to play the game with their terms, this is bad they don't care anymore. I do hope the community do something about this, they should scrap everything and think it over for once
Changing your game 6 years later to a seasonal character model is just wrong. Alot of those veteran players of the Division 2 ( non RU-vid creators) are probably going to just leave. I have over 2500 hours of play time in the division 2. No chance I'll be playing next season. Ubisoft needs to make the Division 3 cross save & or cross play.
This has been a very telling week, I’ve been on many RU-vidrs channels saying the same things over and over getting hate, Gamers are done with useless grind that has no payoff, people want their time respected. I understand what you mean on your last point it’s true but devs haven’t used the ETF meetings and PTS for balancing they’ve used them for marketing more than anything, this game has just been a constant mismanagement over time, with the closures of the other Div projects all attention is solely on this game and they have no clear vision for it.
The missing information that viewers need - actual player base still active after 2 years, new players active now for 3 months & 6 months. I think the changes is for creating new teams and changing mindsets on builds.
I’m absolutely in the minority when it comes to the opinions of those that post on social media. But I honestly can’t wait to experience what they do with seasonal characters. That said I have no where near the investment of a lot of you do on your one main character so I understand it doesn’t hit me as hard. The way I look at it is I just love to play this game in general. Seasonal characters to me just feel like I get a brand new way to experience this game each season while still making progress on an account wide progression so even if I decide to play the season it still feels like I’m working on improving my main. If I don’t wanna do the season I can continue to grind the endgame we already have, wait for the intermission or any dlc to use my main for. I get the seasonal character thing isn’t for everyone and it’s obvious that those who love this game on social media aren’t fond of it. But I’m excited personally. Especially with the potential of PvP and DZ resetting every season. That should absolutely make for a healthier and more enjoyable experience for most people.
its just fundamentally changing the game something should just have been put in a new game, seems like its a fortnite style money making scheme I have thousands of hrs invested in both games moth of these hrs farming for the very best gear to use in the most challenging content only to let it sit to grind a season just doesn't sound interesting, you know where this would have worked well Heartland and it seem like they scrapped that and trying to implementing it to a 6 year old game
They are not landing softly. Mary shelly comes to mind. They are about to unleash an unwanted monster. Only right the villagers are gathering with pitchforks.
Comparing a seasonal character to a WONY mule run is just stupid. A mule run is a means to an end. It's not the way we enjoy playing. And a WONY run takes an hour and a half. Not 17 weeks.
I was saying this same thing before. Nobody running a WONY mule does it because they want to. Its a direct response to the games broken economy in relation to expertise levelling. I ran a few mules and had to stop. I just couldn’t stand to do another one. WONY was fine, it was an ok campaign but nothing that’s infinitely replayable. The main campaign was fine too. I liked it well enough but certainly not enough to want to start a character from level 1 again. Even with accelerated levelling they say it’s gonna take 15 hours. That’s 3X more than it takes me to do WONY. I’m out, I just won’t be doing it.
Is the new 5th character (starting from scatch every season) just exclusive for the season events only (e.g. manhunt)?... For example, can I still use my first four level 40 characters and gear for the core game- doing Raids and control points etc, at anytime?? If that is the case... I can live with that. Can anyone clarify this?
Your seasonal character is only for the season so manhunts, leagues, and other game modes. You can use your main on raids, incursions, and global events. But you will have to regrind gear, SHD levels and materials cause none of that is shared with your main.
i wish they would do cross play or cross pro. but its legit impossible for them right now. there's only about 20 people working on division2 currently and most of them are pretty new at doing coding and everything. also i read somewhere that the game code is horrible.. when they sunsetted the game a long time ago and then came back. the engine was so outdated and the code was forrgotten. that its made it super hard to do anything sadly
I get the seasonal character thing. Itd basically the battle pass but as a character. But why LOCK out the main character. Thats the whole part that confuses me. Imo they should do a global "immersion" setting like how ubi fixed Breakpoint. That would drastically change how the game (non-multiplayer) plays and the decisions you make and builds you have, thr hardcore mode is just permadeath... how is that hardcore?
wont be a new game if we dont support this model. its intention is to get new player to increase overall community. if the current community ditches the game it will fail and there will not be a division 3. please tell me you can understand that
ive played d1 and d2 for yrs but now i have a pc and game way better now then with my ps5 i dont even play division anymore cuz i have to restart all over again just to get all my achev. and more so i just quit 🙄not doing 2k plus hrs back into another account pass
They lazy trying to do quick fixes I all way felt like they should of hire Marco like if they can run old call event they can do the same with apparel events, but they don’t
I got a feeling that by the time Division 3 comes out the next next gen will have been released ! So I hope they are not making it for present consoles!! Because game will be already out dated!
I really don’t think there will be a TD3. The first game sold well but player numbers dropped off sharply. Many were expecting a tactical shooter type game and got a heavy RPG. I like the game but it’s pretty niche. The community loves it but that community is pretty small.
🫡 Yessir. The last time I saw, Xbox has the most daily players by a lot day over day. For the Season 2.0 thing, all I need is real time sharing across all my characters (if it is only on the same platform, is fine) So, when I get a new season weapon or gear from the Seasonal character then my non-seasonal character gets the item (and blueprints) as well right then. It makes no sense the new Seasonal items have to stay locked until week 15. If that has to be the case, then make the new season seasonal activities to only 4 weeks. Then everything goes back to the main character and we finish up the last 3 months with the traditional Manhunt/Rescue/Trial. Fair trade and I would comply👍
