I love Doctor Who, been watching since 1979. The modern version is definitely the place to start. It’s dated, but not as much as the original run. As long as you can forgive the special effects the storylines are superb, and there isn’t another sci-fi/drama like it. The show runner tends to write an overarching storyline within a season, with several episodes written by them, and has several stories written by others. It’s worked quite well in most seasons.

Yay, a relatively funny one. (I prefer the one I suggested) There are showrunners who are head writers, although the second showrunner also wrote for the first and the last wrote for the first two. Now the first is back. And they definitely have different senses of humor. My preference is the earlier and latest, RTD. Moffat's was a bit juvenile for me. I do think you will enjoy the show. I am here for it...

Tom Baker is my favourite because he was my first Doctor however can honestly say ALL the doctors are seriously brilliant. An absolute must watch for any sci-fi fan. Great place to start and if you are going to react to all the episodes I will subscribe to see your reaction....my favourite companions are Rory and Amy Pond and also love River Song......the Angels my favourite villains.

Just found your first doctor who video an hour ago and had to watch all your reactions and subscribe! I can't wait to watch you react to the show. And well done for pucking up not only the different iterations of the doctor but also the fact that there have been multiple writers too. And yeah this is a british show so a lot of the humour is a lot more subtle and sarcastic. Also the Doctor can be a major sassy pants at times 😂

I'm glad you've decided to give Doctor Who a try and watch the show. I think its fabulous and amazing in so many ways. It's very British so its more about the characters and the stories. The special effects aren't always the best.... if you can accept that and focus on the stories then you're on to a winner. As others have said this show has everything from amazing performances, dramatic scenes and stories to silly fun stuff, it can go anywhere and do anything so expect the unexpected. Some of the most recent episodes have been considered woke because of certain issues and situations that have started appearing but please don't take anything like that too serious, don't let it spoil the heart of the show....the fun, the stories and the characters.... the possibilities are endless!

Some memories remain intact whilst others are sublimated or vague. Also, elements of Surrealism ebb and flow within the series. The most noticeable is the juxtaposition of distant and far flung realities. These elements have varied reactions within the fandom. However, it is the various disparate elements that furnish the series such a unique scope.

It's a tricky one because some of the clips you saw have to be seen in context, so when u watch the episode in full, it makes sense much more and is funnier

There are SO MANY EPISODES...1963-1989, and then 2005-present...just so...many...episodes. As it currently stands there are 891 episodes. It's absolutely mind-boggling.

while it might spoil some of the dark moments. so far he hasnt spoiled all the best moments of love and happiness. which are the best parts of the show. finally getting those happy moments for the doctor. also donna is such a great and much needed companion for the doctor. the laughs i had with her were the best.

Watching the reboot is honestly a really great idea. There's so much to watch that factory in the classic series makes it kind of hard to pick where you want to start because that serious has been going on for so long.

I just found you and I'm thrilled you are starting with the 2005 reboot of the show. You won't have any trouble following it, as everything is pretty clear. And that season -- the first New Who -- is fantastic! If it hadn't have been there may not have been any more seasons. Bringing it back as risky and no one knew if it would work. But The Doctor and Rose were so perfectly cast, the New Who (Nu Who) was off to an incredible start. I can't wait to see your reations... I'll be along for the ride. (OK, I just spoiled Rose in a way, although you've seen her in these clips. But I promise there wil be no spoilers from me from now on!) I've subscribed.

Some things are spoiler. But.. its like you said. You only know that IF youve watched the show. The show itself is riddled with spoiler clues to whats next or whats going on, but you dont realize it till that moment happens anyways. Its the same thing, basically. 😊

You should get into Torchwood after this show, it's a spinoff of Doctor Who. It only has 4 seasons but it is so good. ALSO a good thing to know going into Doctor Who is the concept of regeneration. Not really a spoiler, but basically the Doctor has the genetic ability to completely change his body after getting near death. If you didn't know that already XD

as they are a timelord they can technically be any sex however they have been male up until recently . everyone has their favourite dr and era usually but i agree its best to start from 2005

Absolutely start with the 2005 reboot. Be careful to watch everything in order. There are specials that occur between series that you don't want to skip. Some of the best episodes and important plot points happen in those specials.

All the doctors in this video are from the 9th doctor on which means the newer stuff. The 1st through the 7th is the older version, the 8th is I don't know.

With the intention of avoiding spoilers, here are a few things you may find useful to know; - While the 2005 revival is a good starting point, once you begin to understand the show, you'll find that there are many good starting points... - For many of us, The Doctor can be referred to by a shorthand number, which refers to the sequential order of the appearance of the actor portraying the character on the show. - You will end up claiming a Doctor as you own... This refers usually to the actor who introduced you to the character (#4 is my Doctor... We just began #15...) - As of this writing, the series is a touch over 60 years old (I've lost track of some of the harder numbers... about 250 or so televised stories, close to 800 individual episodes... The 'classic' era would break a story into 2 - 6+ parts, with the earliest episodes having individual titles for story parts, before settling into 'Part one', Part two' and so on..) - Due to policies that existed at the BBC back in the day, some of the early episodes are 'missing', that is the original broadcast tapes no longer exist... Efforts are ongoing to restore, or rebuild the missing episodes via animation, as audio recordings of the original broadcasts do exist. I would say the Doctor is a 'they/them' actually, since they are technically both, and neither, and more than that. They are an alien. Literally found you yesterday and I am definitely subscribing just to see you keep watching these Doctor Who tributes, and looking forward to seeing you react to the show as well. This is one of my favorite shows of all time.
