The Doctor Reunites with Wilf | Wild Blue Yonder | Doctor Who 

Everyone has their favorite Doctor and their favorite companion but I'm pretty sure most Whovians can agree that Wilf is a real treasure.

It's now clear that Bernard Cribbins became very ill during filming, yet he still managed to bring all that Wilf energy to this scene. A pro to the last.

This might be the best accidental final tribute to an actor, and character ever, after grieving the grand daughter he lost to the memory wipe, "she was better with you" he finally gets to see that Donna found herself again and the incredible joy at seeing her and the doctor reunited is, so, so lovely, and the doctor gets to see that his tenth life wasn't wasted as, even as humanity falls to it's the impulses the old soldier guards resolute and despite his fragility, will lay his life on the line out of pure kindness and optimism. Wilfred mot is everything that the doctor wants humanity to be and single handedly, undoubtedly, refutes the no-things view of life in the universe, if there was ever a doctor who character that was a true paragon it's Wilf, we all aspire to embody the doctor's ideals, but the doctor aspires to live up to wilf's example, the soldier who never killed a man.

In 60 years of show, Wilf is easily one of the most beloved characters ❤

The best part about this scene is that it happens at the end of 'Wild Blue Yonder', of all stories. About deceptive faces and the not-things representing hate ("love letters don't travel very far"). For Wilf to see the same face that gave his 10th life for him means the world. And the Doctor who he sees isn't a horrible doppelganger. The 14th Doctor is the real deal, because he can love ("I loved that man") and while the Not-Things want to wage war on the Universe, Wilf is the old soldier who never killed anyone ("Don't say that like it's shameful!"). Probably a massive coincidence, that this scene happened at the end of 'Wild Blue Yonder' but if so, it was a very happy accident. R.I.P. Bernard Cribbins.

Seeing him again made me cheer Wilf so loud that I thought my sister and her boyfriend might have heard me

Seeing Bernard Cribbins act the absolute hell out of Wilfred Mott, one last time, is a balm on the soul. Rest well, you old soldier.

There’s characters we love and characters we hate. Some we love to hate and hate to love. But Wilf is the one character that never shows up on bad lists. No matter what. Every whovian loves that sweet old man.

RIP Bernard Cribbins - he brought such soul to the role of Wilf and his relationship with The Doctor!

So often, beloved actors die and leave their characters with sad cliffhangers. I'm glad Wilfred isn't one of them. He got his reunion hug from his weird alien grandson, and will live on happily with his family in canon. Thank you, Mr. Cribbins, and rest in peace. 🥲

When I first saw this, I felt EXACTLY the same way 14 did when we got to see Wilfred one last time. "Now I feel better! Now nothing is wrong, nothing in the whole wide world!"

Their reactions to seeing each other are exactly what I expected them to be. RIP Bernard. And thanks for this one last scene.

I really love that they didn’t cut this out or kill him off just to align with reality. I feel so much happier knowing Wilf still lives in the Whoniverse. I’m just said we didn’t get another: “It’s dem aliens again.”

Easily one of my favourite ever scenes of Doctor Who. It's not just poignant for a national treasure like Bernard coming back after 13 years, or even that it's more emotional given his passing... but that the only scene he was able to film, when things are so often filmed out of order, was THIS scene. The reunion. It was meant to be, and it was beautiful. Rest in peace, Bernard Cribbins ❤

Seeing Wilf see the Doctor again really felt like, for a moment, nothing was wrong with the world.

I had no idea this was coming and thought the whole bit in the first episode of ‘he’s in a home’ etc was just so we didn’t all feel sad. So I was punched in the emotions by this. Bloody lovely man.

Don’t get me wrong, his send off was lovely here but I’m curious as to what Russell’s Original vision of The Giggle was with Wilf involved. I’d love to have had one last one to one conversation with at the end similar to the deep emotional talks they had in The End of Time.

Really glad we got this last scene with Wilf, it’s sad. But I’m glad we got what we got from him. ❤

Oh man, seeing the Doctor and Wilf reunite, I cried, but were happy tears!! I started watching when Matt Smith took over, but constantly watch Doctor and Donna in reruns. Seeing Bernard Cribbins before his death brought back so many feelings

Wilf is one of the best characters of the RTD era I am so glad we at least got one scene from him. And I love how he’s just there.

I love the in flight ambiance of this new Tardis console room… complete with the traditional landing chime! Even noticed the light appear in the main door windows when the Tardis landed!

Wilf! Not only did I get Donna back, my favorite companion, but Wilf as well! I just love his and The Doctor's reactions to each other. Warmed my heart to no end ❤❤

I teared up at this scene, I heard Bernard Cribbins died last year and genuinely thought we wouldn’t see him reunite with the Doctor. It was a very welcomed shock to see him in this episode in the flesh. The old soldier who meant the world to the Doctor. May he rest in peace.

Honestly seeing Bernard return in this was special and certainly would say letting Wilf's character have an important part at the end of the episode going into the giggle, shows also how important the character has been over the years under 10.

Wholesome moment and memory of Bernard Cribbins aside, I want to talk about the script here. I love how Wilf says "I never lost faith, I said he'll come back and save us." and "Listen, you've gotta do something, Doctor!" It implies that while Wilf doesn't really know or understand the stuff the Doctor gets up to all that well, he fully trusts him. He's certain that, whatever happens, the Doctor will make it right.

I burst into tears when he came on the screen, what a moment this was

Seeing Bernard Cribbins reappear as Wilf in this scene is both happy and sad at the same time. It's happy because it's been a while since he was last in an episode, and sad because this was the only scene Bernard could film before his health declined to the point where he passed away. RIP Bernard Cribbins, one of the best things to happen to Doctor Who.

Of all scenes, in all media; those one puts a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye no matter what. That he was in it prior to his death makes this even more heart jerking BUT i absolutely LOVE! that in the end of the next ep there is a line that Wilford is shooting weasels, followed by a gun shot in the distance. Meaning we didnt loose him, he is still somewhere "over there" doing something that makes him happy.

I legit cried at this scene, knowing that Bernard had already passed when we saw it. It was so unexpected, and wonderful to see him one last time.

Ill admit. I havent watched Doctor Who since the 10th doctors first run. But when I saw this clip, I smiled when I saw Wilf! I loved his character! Such a beautiful man!

He was a wonderful man and actor. My heart aches with his passing. But so happy and thankful he got to be on the show one more time.

The Doctor was right. Seeing Wilf again, even just briefly, made everything all right.

im 61 so i grew up with doctor who and have seen many great episodes and great scenes in those episodes. that being said if i have a favorite scene of all time its this one. i loved seeing the old man in the episodes years ago and am happy to see the 3 of them, doctor, donna and wilfread, together 1 last time even if only for a brief moment. thank you to all those who made it happen. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

I find it really that Bernard’s reaction to seeing the Doctor was real emotion but it just played well enough into his acting, the reason being is because that’s one of the last times he’ll see David’s face, the last times he’ll see his Doctor. He knew his time was coming
