Ali Siddiq is a stand-up comedian, public speaker, and writer out of Houston. Ali’s unique style of stand-up began behind the walls of incarceration, an incubator for interesting experiences and good stories.
People received their first taste of Ali Siddiq when he appeared on HBO's DEF COMEDY JAM and LIVE FROM GOTHAM, and in 2013 he was named Comedy Central's "#1 Comic to Watch". In 2014, Ali impressed comedy enthusiasts by displaying his ability to captivate an audience with his "Mexicans Got On Boots" tale, descriptive storytelling, with over 15 million views, of a prison riot on THIS IS NOT HAPPENING, the first of three appearances. His stories continued with his HALF HOUR special, which premiered on Comedy Central in the fall of 2016. Immediately following the premiere of that special, Comedy Central offered Ali an hour-special where he performed for inmates live in a Texas jail, sending Ali back to where it all started. The hour special, Ali Siddiq: It’s Bigger Than These Bars, premiered in February 2018 on Comedy Central. In 2019, Ali could be seen as a Top 5 finalist on NBC’s BRING THE FUNNY. Most recently, Ali could be seen as a guest on THE JOE ROGAN EXPERIENCE.

So fucking happy for this dude. Finally getting the recognition he deserves. Such a good storyteller. Legitimately one of the funniest specials ever seen. From start to finish. Multiple times I laughed so hard I literally cried. That's what I call a comedy special. This was a masterpiece.

The whole "Domino Effect" is absolutely brilliant. Siddiq is one of the best storytelling comedians out there. It takes something to turn a tragic childhood into something funny. So glad to know who this guy is!

He is natural with the comedy, and he don't even have to try plus these are real life stories of his personal experiences that he knows how to turn around for laughs. I remember watching his special when he went to the prison, and it was amazing to see him put smiles on their faces. Also, when he did comedy centrals this is not happening Mexican got on boots omg hilarious.

I love Ali. Man, his stories are so relatable and he's a natural story teller. Our boys are adults now, 20 & 23. We was watching this special together. The dope fiend couple story, we just bout died. 🤣 We came from the westside in SATown and lived in some crazy places early in our marriage. The story reminded me of Bee Bee and Boogie. Because you always knew when they was just leaving the drug house three houses down from us. Because they would be tweaking so hard they looked like they was dancing. Look like they was doing the stroll down the alley street we lived on. Imagine having to explain that to your six and three yr old. Friendly enough to us but they was always fighting 😂. Like yo mama jokes and stuff. But you could tell they had real love for each other. It wasn't the drugs holding them together. That's what I love about watching Ali. All these memories triggered. Good or bad, I am grateful for them all. Made me who I am today.

Ya know I’ve realized that making me laugh isn’t the only thing that determines if you’re humorous. Ali doesn’t actually make laugh out loud a lot but i smile and have a little chuckle here and there while listening to his stories. But I really enjoy listening to him tell the stories I’m entertained by them forsure. You might not catch that if you were judging off how much I laugh tho.

Man he's on point one late night a crack addict knock on my door with a big monitor tv on a Kroger shopping cart amd the police followed him all the way. The crack addict knocked on my door and when i open the door i saw the police parked away from him looking at us. Off topic, but I was just listening to you on JRE and about 6-7 years ago I was trying to start a non-profit exactly as you explained. Where people could move into a situation where they could do a step by step program that helped people get back on their feet. Also where each person with a skill would help teach others their skills and also have a few internal businesses where people could learn job skills and start to save. Almost identical to what you had described on JRE. But it was nearly impossible for me to get the grants because I did not know the right people 😭

I'm same age as Ali. 14 on the streets in the 80s! Crazy!. I remember 17 on the streets and to see all the characters there. He's so right. It was ridiculous and wild!
