I watched this show alone the first time. Then I rewatched it with my mom. In the sol ragum episode where Callum adjusts Rayla's scarf and they make eye contact, my mom literally jumped out of her chair and yelled "Kiss her!"
Don’t worry, all you have to do is almost get killed and then proceed to work together with your attempted killer and deliver an egg that could spawn a dragon of two strong storm dragons. See not so hard.
I love that this series has a very similar feeling and energy to Avatar the last air bender, but at the same time is very clearly it’s own thing. Yes I know Callum and sokka have same voice actor and at least 5 of the producers are the same as well, but it doesn’t feel derivative. Kind of like how prince of Persia and Assassins creed have some similarities but are very different.
my favorite is the reference to avatar. when he finds a boomrang. its wasnt until he said the weapons name that i busted laughing at the reaization that they had the same VA
I overestimated their reunion. Realistically a relationship that starts this young is going to have some growing pains. Especially after a 2 year separation of that nature. They have to rediscover this love for each other after 2 years of growth. I’m not surprised at the slow paced Rayllum of season 4, I understand it. But I have full confidence they’ll work things out and get back together.
@@abo3mo514 Ikr for sum reason I do lol. Prob cause there is literally no one else to ship him with, well, except for the wolf girl (oof sry I forgot her name-)
2.5 years ago, I was just flipping through the RU-vid feed and came across this video, thanks to which I first got acquainted with this series. Thank you very much! (sorry for my poor English, it's google translator)
Damn you Avatar Creators you did it right with bringing us a Cute Romance Story to Love, just Aang X Katara, Callum X Rayla is just so cute and Beloved
1:01 Rayla: *does the math, calculating what Callum is trying to say.* 1:04 Rayla: *figures out the answer to what Callum is trying to point out.* 2:50 Ezran: *completely oblivious of what just happened* 2:51 Bait: *realizes* And Ezran: *also realizes*
Friendly reminder that in every instance of him kissing her, to our knowledge Callum STILL hasn’t bathed in 2-3 weeks. That aside, I always love a series that doesn’t wait till the last god forsaken episode to get the main ship together.
Honestly I’m both excited and scared about what the next season will bring us in regard to this relationship. On one side we’ll get moments where the two are acting cute, flirting with eachother, hell maybe they’ll somehow get matching outfits. But on the other we’ll probably see them realize how little they have in common and how hard it is to converse now that they’re a thing.
Why does this remind me of Ron an Hermione. Like, Callum was kinda scared of her lol but also wanted to protect her. And Rayla was a bad ass who was also kind on the inside. An amazing couple, love this show
I will never forgive the writers of this show for the audacity of taking everyone's favorite ship and having them break up. In a comic, between seasons, and then not explaining any of what happened in the show.
They kinda do explain in season 4 and 5, enough to get the idea. Rayla left after season 3 to search for Viren to make sure he is dead - that's obvious. A hardcore fan will be curious enough by the idea and read into the comics and short stories on the website. And they did get back together, we have more Rayllum scenes to come, for sure. Season 6 will be interesting.
OBS! BIG SPOILER WARNING, and also this is what I think about the show so don't hate me please. Is there anyone else that feel like they got robbed of off their relationship this season? I know that Callum is angry at Rayla and all of that for leaving so abruptly and he is justifiably angry. However, why did the director treat her return like it was nothing? Later it is also revealed that her 2 year long journey was completely pointless and everyone basically treats it as an "Ok!". If you read the letter she wrote to Callum makes you think that her return would harbor much more emotion rather than "I don't know how to feel about Rayla". Her "return" makes it feel like she never left and Callum is just angry at her for nothing, which damages their relationship to an extent that it doesn't feel like they have feelings for eachother which the letter states otherwise. However, throughout the show there are so many moments that could lead to them being alone and talking it through and make things right. We saw this in the third season for example, they actually sat downed and talked. For exemple when Rayla said that she had to stay and protect Zubeia when she was sleeping because of depression or whatever. However this time they either got interrupted or Callum didn't want to be alone with Rayla. The new season just feels like another hollow romance comedy with bad story-telling. We didn't get one kiss. Not even on on the cheek. Not to mention every other flaw with the new season like how they shat on previous character development, how they made it feverishly childish even tho you clearly see an the great sky mage get brutally stabbed through the stomach with a staff. The pacing of the show was atrocious, this entire season could've been boiled down to 3 episodes at most. In summary I am extremely upset about this season and almost cried because of it. Seasons 1-3 were so incredibly amazing. We experienced this new exciting world, with intriguing characters with fantastic character development and a very satisfying climax. What Rayla and Callum had was beautiful and fucking George or whatever his name is took that away. I want that guy fired. And know I'm sitting here watching this thinking about how great of a season we could've had.
YES! I just finished it earlier today, and I was left with- "...That's it? THAT'S ALL???" The group is still nowhere near Aaravos, and it feels like the whole season was all exposition. All nine episodes could have been shortened to make way for more plot development. I know it was important to show that 2 years creates a gap in relationships, and I respect that the producers didn't want to just smooth over the cracks built over that time. However, did they really have to end the season without Callum and Rayla talking to each other about it? Every time I thought they would finally communicate, there was another plot-driven interruption. And is it just me, or did the animation seem less vibrant this season? The characters' facial expressions and body language are nowhere near what they were in 1-3. But I still love the show and am excited to see what's next, of course
@@boombuffoon4514 The plot and pacing was such a mess this season. It feels like the entire season was plagued by an ongoing story but it was so slow so it felt like nothing was happening in many cases. I get that Callum didn't want to talk to Rayla considering how conflicted he was. However when they were on top of lightning mountain or whatever it's called, we see Callum sitting alone by the ledge and Rayla confronts him asking if he's okay. He starts crying (I think) and says no. She then asks if he wants to talk about it. Then of course Soren interrupts the moment with "plot". This is such an obvious opportunity for them to talk about their relationship and how they're feeling. It is such an overused cliché at this point. Yes we saw it in earlier seasons but not to an extent like in season 4. I have noticed the animation sometimes being a little choppy. For example when Rayla and Soren are alone in Xadia's forest doing something, I can't remember. Just goes to show how much I've oppressed this season after watching it. Even tho I watched it like 3 days ago. When they hear the dragon-beating elf they start running. When Rayla does her naruto run I had to rewind and watch it again because my initial reaction to it was like "what the fuck?". Looked a little off. Some facial experessions here and there were a bit stale. It's just that waiting three years for this, they build it up and it's just such a disappointment.
I agree, I really disliked rayllum this season. I liked how Callum didn’t forgive rayla right away but it was as you said, they didn’t have a single moment to talk about all that had happened, and rayla doesn’t even apologise or explain to him why she had to leave him. I didn’t like their hug in the final episode because it made it seem like that Callum was close to forgiving Rayla despite what she had done to him. I just hope that they’ll sort it out in season 5 instead of just getting back together. The worst part of it all is that rayla achieves NOTHING in two years so her leaving Callum and ruining what they had was for nothing
Callum and Rayla make a really cute couple. But, It’s sad when Callum who explains that he misses Rayla. It seems like even though she had a choice, it would’ve been nice if she’d brought Callum with her. Then maybe he wouldn’t have been so heartbroken.
Well his birthday is July 15th and hers is July 31th. Yes Rayla was born the year before Callum, but there is that half period of the month when they’re the same age.
