i like how that girl’s attempt at ruining someone’s life with an accusation started with “im really tired and stwessed 🥺 borderline homeless🥺” i don’t even like dream but these accusers are genuine weasels
9/10 of every clout chasing chick on the internet. Imagine being clout chasing and female, sh1tting on all legitimate victims chances of taking their accusers down.
its also weird how americans act like a 20 year old supposedly being interested with a 17 year old is pedophilic like dude there is 3 years difference and americans act like its a 15 year old with a 50 year old its so weird girls at that age already finished their puberty
If one is near borderline homeless, why the fck are you going after a big YTber making accusations or even asking Dream for help or something like that. Like nah fam, you need a reality check. I don't care for Dream or follow him but god damn. False accusations are horrible, and these people should be ashamed.
I feel like so many of these controversies would have just fizzled out if dream could ignore them and not feel the need to respond to every little piece of drama he’s found himself in.
Nearly every single one of Dream’s dramas were either caused by his toxic relationship with his community or was inflamed by it. All these (now proven false, thankfully) allegations against him could only propagate like they did when he had in an environment where people were already predisposed to negative beliefs about him and that the allegations would perfectly fit with how parasocial his relationship with his community was. I’m somewhat curious how his career can recover from this. Even without the allegations he’s continuously proven himself to be an immature person who has shown time and time again that the Faustian bargain of associating with him isn’t worth the effort.
People need to stop using "grooming" to describe any casual contact between people with a significant age gap. Yea, that contact isnt appropriate, but FFS you arent being GROOMED just by talking to somebody. Unless you're being psychologically or physically conditioned for sexual activity, you aren't being groomed. Twitter turning that word into a buzzword just hurts actual victims.
I think another part of the reason so many accusations fly and people are quick to believe him is because the large number of specifically Minecraft youtubers that turned out to be actual groomers and pedophiles.
That and people didn’t like him to begin with for other reasons and he’s a big youtuber. People are drawn to shocking topics since it taps into their emotions very easily. Us humans tend to be drawn into drama
I think it's because people like me already didn't like him before hand and put our feelings first before scrutinizing the evidence that was given against him, I didn't follow the drama too much I just thought it was funny he was being cancelled and blindly believed it, I didn't know any of the accusers until this video and if I actually did take time out of my day to pay attention to this it would make my life worse on personal level for following something as meaningless as this and being overly invested in a internet dude who sometimes wears a mask I do hope dream takes legal action though defamation suits, since I believe lying about people on this level and scale is very serious and so the repercussions should also be serious, and if he does and wins at least I'll know we still have some seriousness in this society
Yeah like Lionmaker. Minecraft's history of pedophiles make fake grooming allegations easy to believe even if they have the _shittiest_ evidence behind them.
Plus, I kinda side with Dream on the basis that, even if the allegations were true, they just aren’t that bad. A 20-year-old flirting with a 17-year-old is not a pedophile. They’re only 3 years apart.
I still feel like this latest drama proves that his hatedom is 100x worse, and honestly I feel like people shouldn't expect any celebrity to be able to control their fans. Still, I guess he's at least trying.
I don’t think I've seen someone become a target of more hatebombing since Justin Bieber back in his "Baby" days. The number of people who took time out of their lives to just flat out slander this man for no other reason than "he's kinda cringe" and the fact a vast majority of people believed it for no other reason than "that sounds just fake enough to be true" is fucking mind-boggling
Even in this comment section the vast majority of comments (as of the first hours since posting) seem mostly negative towards him. I wonder if those people even watched the video
@lorenzolovatoo Considering that every time Dream tried to explain himself up to this point was met with people saying "I ain’t reading allat" I doubt it.
At that time, Justin Bieber actually was a butthole. Yeah he doesn't deserve harassment but neither did the owner of the fake number that Justin gave to his fangirls
I have never liked Dream, but his response was probably one of the best I've seen. He calmy dismantled every allegation/controversy with concise evidence, he provided the receipts, and he ended the video with some reflection by admitting he made mistakes. He basically said he was wrong about stan culture, and he never should have fostered that relationship with his fans. For as cringe and annoying as Dream is, I find these mentally ill people who are lobbing false allegations against him to be 10x more worse. We should be shaming these people as they are sick in the head and need help. Also for all the problems Dream has brought upon himself, I think it's easy to forget that he's basically still a kid himself. Imagine being a fat loser in school, and then within a year you are suddenly a multi-millionaire with millions of adoring fans. You can see why Dream thought he owed his fans everything, since they changed his life. There is no way to prepare kids for this kind of career path as it's not really normal or a healthy lifestyle. So I do kind of understand why he made the mistakes he did. But I don't agree with people saying he "deserved" this abuse. No one deserves to be falsely accused of grooming or to have your entire life micro-managed by a mob of lunatics. As others have said, his biggest mistake was responding to people on Twitter. But I think he has learned his lesson.
That uber video reaaaly made my opinion shift on gumballs VA, holy shit the utter class narcissism at play is unfathomably insulting. 18th century French aristocracy type behaviour.
Honestly, this is one of the best response videos to allegations and he did a good job, most of the stuff always seemed fishy and was easily disproven. However, I still don't like this guy, all of the drama aside. But, what's been done to him is fucking stupid and is the reason why everything needs to be fact checked and why these para social realtionships should be way more discouraged by platforms like YT, TikTok and Twitter. Creators should also strive not to engage with their audience in such a way as to lead them to form that type of connection.
I haven’t watched the video so I’m sure he mentions it, but it was so funny he did a face reveal and maybe two days later a girl accuses him of grooming her
The thing that is disgusting to think about is being a parody account on Twitter and waiting your worthless life for another drama to happen, to get clicks and feel good about yourself
Doesn't seem like anything good could possibly come from his continuing. It's not like he needs the money, and it seems like he would want a break to enjoy said money. Instead of responding to the negative Twitter troglodites day in and day out, whose minds you couldn't possibly change
@@langustajableczna Yeah like you just admitted you don't understand how attached people were to him BEFORE he removed his mask. People were obsessed with him, like legit in love with someone, and then when he removed his mask people turned on him immediately. It's honestly really sad and pathetic. It's a corrupted parasocial relationship.
@@Vespyr_ yes and that's normal that I wasn't crazy about a youtuber of all people. The OP however said that people who hate him are his ex fanbase. I replied that not necessarily, that's all. I know his fans are rabid
@@langustajableczna Oh yeah for sure. Though I think a big part of that was due to the false accusations. I also don't really like his personality. The guy cares too much about what people think of him. Think the mask was therapeutic for him tbh. He just comes off as a douche, and that's why Gumball roasting him so hard popped off so well. lol
@@Vespyr_ I think he's just so cringe and pathetic and tryhard and fake. I can't watch or read anything from him because it's so artificial and I'm not trying to spend my time listening to someone lab grown
@@andrew2353 reminds me of Hotel Transylvania fans who all simped for the invisible man imagining him to be super hot until he became visible in a sequel and they threw a fit because he was old, bald and not conventionally attractive.
Good lord, this is the first time I actually listened to the gumball Uber video. If I was that driver, I'd be getting a tip confirmed via friends and family Paypal or cash, before I drove them any further
Yee it's bad Don't think he should have been doing drugs or drinking. And maybe we should look into the people who gave him the alcohol at the venue or whatever it is.
Being drunk is not an excuse and never will be an excuse. He shouldnt have been drunk but let's be real he's not the first 20 year old to get drunk at some party.
I’m not a fan of Dream, but some of these accusations are just plain stupid. Flirting with a girl with only a 3.5 year age difference is not “grooming an underage girl”
ya but this era, like now people whine when senior and freshman may like eachother...if was wrong...they would not be peers at same school then. I know it could be wrong given mind sets, I can see freshman being groomed by a senior, easily...but people are always so quick to jump to worst case sinnaro.
the funniest thing about this is that they will defend the same 17yos for being so mature to make the decision to "transition" but somehow when they go out with someone in their age range, they're considered manipulated 🤣🤣
the craziest part is that by all means, dream should have been the good guy in this altercation. kantu is a fatherless, narcissistic crybaby that has a massive chip on his shoulder - he is prime hate material. he even went so far as to throw racial slurs at some working class dude and then said it was okay, because he gave him money. this type of behaviour usually gets people up in arms in seconds. yet somehow dream STILL managed to be the less likeable person. absolutely incredible job.
The internet will be the internet. They’ll side with a terrible person because of their personal biases. It’s stupid. Especially when they act as if dream was in the wrong when he clearly wasn’t. Hell, the Uber driver himself said that Cantu lied and never gave him the money. Honestly just f*ck Nicholas Cantu.
the lesson here is people are ok in small numbers but the more people you interact with the worse they are. and the less reliably you can keep those important to you happy. stay off social media- its bad for you to be around everybody all the time.
Yes. I wonder how many of his haters were once fans that had a parasocial relationship with him. The impression I get is that they are a bunch of kids cringing at themselves.
what i hate about these so called "sexual assault victims" instead of filing a police report they are all over tiktok running they mouth. clout chasers.
They always have been you’re acting like it’s a new thing. The stans at worst do cringe cosplaying of their faves but the haters have actively tried to ruin Dream’s life since 2021
You can trick people into liking you for a while, but eventually they see through the facade. Especially now that people put everything about themselves out in the world for everyone to see. Keep your privacy. Is an army of weirdos worth it
if people confront face to face or show their actual proof and not go onto social media and makes thing worse, there would have been little to none controversies what even worse is that even if Dream is innocent, the grooming tag will stick on him for the rest of his life ( i don't even likes Dream but like poor guy ) because of this i think the best responses to falsely allegation and accusation is just simply :"Lol where is the proof" and if they give you the fake proof ( hopefully ) and double down, you make a video to clear things out and that is the rest is done by the internet ( in fact after Dream made "The Truth" video, most of the people immediately believe him, because Dream has the actual proof to counter allegation and accusation )
As horribly as he’s managed his fame, he definitely could’ve done a LOT worse. I think it’s a little unfair of people (not that this happened here) to compare him to others with a similarly large following, purely because he blew up REALLY quickly. He didn’t exactly have time to learn how to be famous, so every single mistake and lesson that other people learn over months or years, with a much smaller audience, had to happen in front of millions of people. Pair that with unmedicated ADHD (impulsivity is one of the primary symptoms) and I think he was probably doomed from the start.
Yeah I know it’s kinda tired to bring up his ADHD, and his fans bring it up way too often when it’s unrelated. But I think it should be kept in mind when discussing his impulsivity, which is something he’s frequently criticized for.
@@diamiaI will say, many people expect those who are 20 and older to act like “adults” when our mindset still isn’t that far off from a kid. I’m 19 and knowing I’m going to be 21 in two years astounds me. I don’t feel like an adult and I know when I’m 21 I’m still gonna have the same child like interests in anime and dolls. It’s already hard enough trying to navigate HOW to act like an adult right after high school but also being pushed into fame quickly after as well? For as much shit as Dream does, I feel bad for him
Dream needs to step away, touch grass, and interact with real people. Being terminally online interacting with terminally online people is a lose-lose situation
@@yarrgoronohobolonodo Um, he does need to address it publicly though? If people don’t believe the mountain of proof of his innocence, do you think people are actually going to believe dream dealt with it privately? It kinda needs to be done publicly when the accusers slander you every single time you do anything online.
1:07 Clarification: the QSMP server uses a live translation mod Quackity found on Curseforge, and he himself has no involvement with its development. While this mod predates Quackity's career, its major drawback is a reliance on the Google Translate API to operate, which gets prohibitively expensive for smaller creators. Dream, on the other hand, was funding development of his own live translation mod that operates locally, without the Google Translate API. This version of the translation mod was (according to his earlier announcements) going to be an open source tool available to whoever. So what looks like Quackity and Dream found the translation mod at the same time, and took two approaches with it: Quackity would just pay the bills for his friends' usage of the API, while Dream would bankroll a version of the mod that isn't reliant on Google's API.
The videos on this channel starting to just abruptly end is... I dunno. Weird. But probably refreshing. It's just so out of the ordinary that I don't even know how to feel about it anymore.
all dream had to do is shut the hell up on twitter and not interact with fans privately and then all this shit can be avoided but i guess that's to difficult for him
I know basically nothing about this drama, but dream is just a human, a guy, just like me or you. He can text or talk to who he wants. Hes just another guy. A guy that a lot of people know about
Never been a fan of dream but the way the internet has treated him is fucking horrendous. We really live in a guilty until proven innocent but even if you are proven innocent it doesn’t matter world
@@truthofdsp who has since deleted all of his timed runs both legit and fake and hasnt done an official speedrun in 3 years because of it... get over it bud
It’s so wild that the whole drama started with Gumball being so inhumanly stupid that he got an obvious parody mixed up with the real Dream and people immediately got on his side because Twitter users are also at animal-level intelligence
Can someone please tell me what dream meant around 45 minutes in when he tells the one faker to “check her mailbox”. Is he suing her (I hope he does - it’s about time someone brings down the legal hammer on a fake accuser)
imagine trying to validate your attempt at destroying a man's life by being like ehh i'm just going thru a tough time right now. false accusations should seriously be met with legal action more often
Throughout all this drama, I never really cared about Dream or any of the controversy surrounding him. But after listening to this, I honestly can't help but feel bad for him. The whole internet ganged up on him and faked allegations just to try and ruin his reputation. Just glad that the truth came out and eventually dream can just move on with his life without people trying to tear him down.
I love how Jamie is somehow the most important person in a smear campaign against someone who is NOT her + this woman says she feels only “partially responsible” Like, fuck, these women need a reality check, genuinely unstable.
The only thing i've learned Through out the Entire Dream Saga is that Now a days if Your a minecart RU-vidr you either get massive Hate by Small Brained Twitter Stands who will find anything and Every Reason to hate you Cause they think your Cringe or You End up like Jelly Bean you get Bullied to the point you need to Quit the internet.
I really hope that people creating grooming claims for clout isn’t becoming a thing (Like the phenomenon of people faking mental disorders for views) People already have to deal with victim blaming, harassment and not being believed, one of the few instances in which allegations are seemingly starting to be taken more seriously (in online communities like RU-vid) being hijacked for attention is so damaging to any progress made in helping and finding justice for victims of assault, grooming, etc.
I just plain don't like the guy. Never found him entertaining and wasn't a big fan of how he handled a lot of controversies in the past (Remember the "I hired a professor to prove I wasn't cheating" only to come out and say "Welp yeah, I guess I cheated lol"? That was horrible, which is also why even though he has receipts now, I don't fully trust him). Don't care about "canceling" or whatever, I just don't really care for him. Not an entertaining guy. Was good a speedrunning, sure, but that was about it IMO.
Frankly it was an immature pot shot. I wouldn't trust any record of his and I'm not about to spend any time trying to sort out the truth from the lies. @@BenV7_
Agreed. I just plain don't like the guy. He tried so hard to prove he didn't cheat, knowing he cheated all along. That's why I'm kinda surprised everyone's taking his receipts at face value. I'm not saying he faked them, but it's so easy to do so in this day and age, it wouldn't be much of a surprise if someone came forward with proof that he did.
Regardless of the drama. Did they ever apologize to the Uber driver for being so terrible towards him? I hope he's okay. I can't imagine being berated like that by strangers , just doing your job.
I believe the Uber driver actually talks about the situation in dream’s response. As in, the actual Uber driver was in the video and talked about how Nicholas acted.
A good example that if one chooses to make RU-vid their career its in their best interest to just keep their head down and make content, and that Twitter should be avoided.
A lotta people are saying its dreams fault for responding and while i will say he made a lotta bad reaponses that made people think he was guilty , its also really not fair to him that the public is against him as often as they are seemingly cause hes an easy cringy target
I doubt this is the end of anything. Even more things will come out soon and he will need to make another video explaining that, and the cycle continues until something actually goes to trial.
@kingis_dingis8103 he tried to make the Mr beast having a trans friend some big problems when it was not Made him look transphobic He did ignore it But his channel was already a bore feast anyway. A content farm
