I feel like this is inspiration material to write a sociological analytical essay on the dress phenomenon! It will deal with how in the internet & social media environment of today's world simple and (first seemingly) trivial matters have a ground to flourish with unexpected speed and overwhelming power. The fact that such a topic spread like wildfire over the entire world through the internet, and not a bigger and more important topic can be used as a reflection on society as well as today's internet culture. I personally draw the conclusion that humanity needs something positive, funny and something that brings us enjoyment (as does this dress issue for some reason) in order to bond and become so amazingly interconnected. Also the fact that the dress issue has been so over-dramatised reflects the internet meme culture as well as our need for humour in our life. This is real life humour - a real life comedy show. Now if only all these positive emotions could be harvested and used in a smart and efficient way in order to achieve something great, something that would influence the world for the better........

If you are looking at the picture on a phone and see white and gold, look at the picture from an angle until the contrast decreases and then you will blue and black and it will stay blue and black for most. Everyone is different and it is how your brain perceives the color. Even though most of the time I see white and gold, to me the white does have a blue tint and I can see blue and black when I tilt my phone.

People tell me that if I look at it in a different light it will change, but all I see is dark blue and black. The only thing that might change for me is that the top turns like a greenish gold... Makes me really wonder what I see and how it may be different than others. My mom swears its white and gold.. Try changing the brightness of your screen, lets see if it has any effect, i tried it with myself, the brighter the light on my screen the black change to gold, but if if i lower the brightness it changes from gold to black, try it

What's happening here is your visual system is looking at this thing, and you're trying to discount the chromatic bias of daylight axis. So people either discount the blue side, in which they end up seeing white and gold, in which case they end up seeing blue and black.

It deepens on what type of lighting ur in I think, the original colour was white and gold but changes in our eye sight to blue and black.

I don't think people understand. There are variations, it's not the same image every time, look and you will be able to find two pictures side by side where you will see black and blue on one, white and gold on the other. It just depends on what image you find, in reality.
