The Driver Swing Can Be So Simple If You Change This

I recently had the chance to help gerry with his golf swing and specifically his driver and wanted to share that lesson with you and I think there is lots that you can learn from this session.
Ultimately Gerry wanted more consistency and predictability with his driver as many do, so we worked on a couple of key drills and finished with something that is so simple but made an incredible difference to his drives.
In this video you will see the 4 stages that we covered and I show you how you can apply them to your game to get similar results to Gerry
Hope you enjoy the video and as always just leave me a comment and ill get back to you as soon as i can, Chris

Chris, thank you again, was great having this lesson. You really helped me to clear my head of too many swing thoughts and give me some simple things to work/focus on. I'm already starting to see the benefits, with more consistency and less dispersion with the Driver. As the confidence builds and the better weather arrives, I hopefully can start to wind back up the speed and add a little more distance.

I personally love these types of videos that are a mix of real lesson examples, and your traditional theory/demo. It is what seperates you from other golf channels. It brings an aspect of relatability and makes the outcome more tangible - versus a pro talking theory and demoing with great flexibility and athleticism. Great work, keep up this trend in your channel on other tips!

Excellent drill with the wall Chris. Your videos help me assist other golfers I see at the range, where I volunteer my time in retirement. I have a decent swing in my 70’s, I know how to swing the club. However trying to describe what I’m doing to others, can be a challenge. Your videos are very helpful to pass on to others, so they can improve. That’s my goal for every potential golfer. I don’t ask for money, my reward comes from them improving. It’s my way of giving back to a game that I’ve enjoyed for over 60 years….

Had to subscribe after watching this upload . The way you explain things with drills 'feels' and pupil interaction were some of the best understandable instruction I've seen . Top job 👏 👌

Hi Chris, this has opened my eyes to something I was doing similar to what Gerry was doing, having my hands too far forward at set up. My hands are way too forward (in line with the middle of my leading thigh) leading to a wide open face and a massive leak out right. I'm hoping that the drills in this video will help restore my baby draw

Thanks for the lesson! I have exactly the same fault and never realised that it is all due to the setup, alignment and lead elbow hinging....can't wait to take this to the course!

I personally have developed a slice over the past month or 2. Never realized it until I watched this video that I was pre setting with shaft lean. Definitely an aw huh moment right off the bat.

Chris, are you left arm dominant with your golf swing? Or do you use both arms equally? Thanks for answering, and keep up the great videos!
@ChrisRyanGolf
@ChrisRyanGolf 2 месяца назад
Both pretty equal in reality, some benefit from focusing of ‘feeling’ one is working harder but both do similar amount of work
@TennesseeVolsFans

@@ChrisRyanGolf Thanks for answering, because this has been a big debate amongst my golfing buddies. If you could make a video explaining that ‘feeling’ of the both arms, it would be extremely helpful. Thanks for considering!

Could see on initial drive that he was pulling the club around, rather than coming through with same plane from start to finish. Easily results in a slice....

Just one issue I have is when you say take your normal set up. That for me is almost impossible. Every tee shot is different, dogleg left or right with varying degrees of dogleg. My set up will definitely be different every time.
@ChrisRyanGolf
@ChrisRyanGolf 2 месяца назад
Yeah I see that a lot, or if the tee makers aim you into the rough or trees. Just a case of grooving it in practice and then developing a routine that allows your to get there each time of the course, but not easy
