Tony Rokov the Aussie who gave his life to get under the 14year old kid when their parachutes failed & used his body to stop the kid hitting the ground directly, is an absolute hero!~
Murder is the worst and most categorically incorrect term you could apply to #10. And why is so much emphasis placed on it being a prank? Anytime you pull a knife on someone to rob them, there's nothing PRANK about that. You are committing a crime plain and simple. Criminal got what he deserved.
I believe that the friend can be charged with murder though maybe. The was a case where the homeowner shot and killed one of the three robbers in his home and they charged the other two with murder
He was murdered. By his co-conspirator - this would be a classic case of felony murder by one of the criminals when a death occurs by their acts, accident or self defence or police responses. The person with the gun who fired the bullet did not commit a crime in acting in self defence in apprehension of a threat of death or serious injury.
I can't believe the "removed-the-Stop-sign" one. Their intent wasn't a prank, their intent was literally to cause a car accident. At least these other pranks -- _foolish as they were_ -- had the potential to be harmless. How do you harmlessly have a car-accident? At the absolute minimum, the car will sustain _SOME_ damage... even if it's just paint.
If I done that. The justice system would be the least of my concern. It'll be my dad do a shit load more than the justice system. Was raised to live your life in a way that doesn't have a negative impact on another person.

@giornikitop5373 it's your parents job to teach you right from wrong. It's the justice system that enforces the punishment when you ignore what your parents tourt you. 18 months in prison for almost killing someone and causing such harm that the victim had to have skin grafts, had to leave college, had to lose his job, and has at least two years of rehab. The victim will serve more time than the fun-loving prankster! Wtf
SHOULD absolutely have been more time... I'm not 100% on how much more... It's kind of amazing how many people just don't realize how friggin' flammable cotton is, ESPECIALLY cotton balls all fluffed out. It's conceivable at some level, the guy in the costume probably should've thought a little better for his handy-craft... NOT to victim blame, here... BUT there is something to be said for the shear hazard of the costume, too... AND without seeing the video, I'm sorry... BUT we don't know if the "Prankster" was legitimately TRYING to light it on fire, or if he was just flicking the lighter at the other guy playfully and got too close... Was everybody (including our guy in the costume) laughing along with the whole gag??? It comes down to us NOT knowing the whole picture here, only what they presented in the vid'... It's still not excusing the act of lighting someone on fire and all the fall-out... BUT that's also the nature of assing around when things go sideways. AND FINALLY... This is just how quickly things can go bad, and how easily one can fail to grasp the serious nature of the situation... Would YOU expect someone to come to YOUR party with a costume that would go up like a roman candle??? ;o)
@@gnarthdarkanen7464 watch it again bud the guy was by himself when it showed him light his lighter and press it on to the costume, I don't care if his costume was made of gasoline nobody should try to LIGHT SOMEONE ON FIRE!!!
THERE IS NO THING AS A ROBBERY PRANK !!! If you rob someone it is a robbery and it do not matter if it was as a prank, the psychological damage is the same for those you rob and the punishment many many years in prison is EXATLY the same for robbery if it is a prank or not.
Exactly if some is armed during your fake prank will still shoot you to protect anyone else involved or just themselves feeling lives are actually in danger. If the only person who knows it's a prank is the prankster can still legally be killed if innocent people who don't know or in anyway realize it's a prank can and will defend themselves if they feel their lives and other people's lives are on some actual real danger. How could they legally be charged with murder if the false weapons and the whole situation seemed totally real, than how could they be committed for murder or anything if it was seriously only done in self defense of themselves and others.
This is what happens when parents can't properly discipline their kids . They turn out like these morons . A crime isn't a prank . Just plain brainlessness .🤯😔
I’m so tired of judges giving light sentences for “pranks”. It’s become a get out of jail free card at this point. I say, until this stops, ADD time if they say it was “just a prank” to discourage people. It doesn’t matter what happens in the actual prank, just add an extra 5 years as a mandatory minimum.
I would say 5 years is a little harsh, but I do agree with what your saying. If a “prank,” or whatever the hell you want to call it, results in the death of another person, or serious harm. Then they should be charged like any normal person getting the same charge. It is honestly kind of upsetting at this point. It’s just basic common sense. If you have more than 2 brain cells to rub together, you would think. “Hmm.. what is going to happen if I pull this prank. Surely pulling a knife on someone couldn’t possibly go wrong.. right?” Edit: (sorry if this reply is a little long and a bit sidetracked)
@@zanderdubeau Whose idea was it to call playing with other people's lives a prank? Only people who are totally uncaring of others would think a prank is just in fun?
I agree. Most of these pranks aren't funny anyway, they are just humiliating at the best. And that bouncer who only got EIGHTEEN MONTHS for RUINING a young mans life, by setting fire to him, that's completely fu*ked up too. He'll only do NINE months of that sentence, whilst the poor lad will bé physically disfigured and pyschologically fked up for life !

The difference between Murder and Manslaughter is intent. If the DA cannot prove a specific intent to kill the victim they will reduce it to manslaughter to avoid needing to meet that burden of proof. Better to get the conviction you can, than to lose on a murder charge and get nothing. The "It was a prank, Bro!" defense adds shadow of doubt to the intent of the actions.
I admit, I’m of an age where I only see (anti) social media damaging our society. Any prank that causes distress, injury or death is a crime and the perpetrator should be suitably punished. I simply don’t understand the mentality of those that crave fame by hurting others. What’s wrong with these people?
Blaming social media for damaging our society are not exactly right. A dangerous prank have been exist too in the past before internet exist. But we don't notice most of it because news exchange are not as easy as now with internet, so it was well hidden from world view.

Prank videos on RU-vid for "likes" and "thumbs" are the most pathetic attention seeking pastimes on the internet. I mean, these vapid "influencers" addicted to selfies are also sad and pathetic but they don't involve other people. Sometimes I notice young people sowing me images on their phone and 90% of the pictures they are scrolling through are selfies with the same exact fake pose in each image. Like they are the center of the universe. They are, as I am, a nearly insignificant part of our amazing universe. I think it is healthy to understand how important you AREN'T in the big picture.
Jealous of 9. A hospital broke my spine while I was under sedation in their care. II was sent home that way, and when I was sent to another hospital 2 days later... after that hospital doped me up enough I couldn't resist, sent me back to the first place... where they got me laid down prone, and got full nerv conduction back, so they wanted to keep me like that for 3 days and re-assess. One surgeon came down, decided he wanted to ignore all 9 of them, and do an exploratory surgery. They lost all conduction below the abdomen before they ever got me onto the table. Short version, that doctor cost me the use of my body below the belly button. Permanently. And a jury ruled in his favor, exiting with comments similar to "trust doctors, they might work on us some day." I got Nothing, and have been in Nursing homes ever since... .I was 39 (turned 40 on the day I woke up from his blunder).
These people are out of control with the phones, I swear social media is the downfall of society. We should make it so phones can only access the internet for an hour a day. I'm so glad I was born well before this global obsession.
So because a small portion of the population can't control themselves, we should punish everyone? Sounds like a shit take to me, let me guess you're OK with people drinking alcohol even though it causes more damage to themselves and others due to drunk driving than any social media stunts would ever do. How about TV shouldn't that be banned as it's promoted many stupid ideas that have caused dangerous and deadly situations. Teenagers have been doing stupid and deadly shit long before social media and cameras were around. The reason you think it happens more now is because everyone has a camera in their pocket so it just gets recorded more and unlike 20 years ago we can share those videos with others. Back in your day your only option to share it to millions was to spend a ton of money or send it in to shows like America's funniest home videos.
Judge acknowledged it as "just a prank?" I guess that made the families of the victims feel better and less upset and heartbroken. 😒 🙄 The juvenile behaviour of those thugs cost the lives of three INNOCENT people. For a judge to "understand" it was just a prank so he gave them only a fraction of the possible sentence they could receive, is irresponsible and a slap in the face to the victims' families.
It’s not really a prank if at the end of the day you’re pulling out a knife on people in the street. You’re still ACTUALLY doing it. Just saying ‘prank’ and handing back their stuff doesn’t change the fact you still technically robbed people at knife point which is super distressing. It’s not really a prank at that point it’s just doing it for a different reason rather than robbery.
Rusty nail, wow. I stepped on one a few years ago. Even seeking treatment I wound up with a golf ball sized hole in my foot. You could see bone beneath what little muscle was left. Took 2 years to completely heal. I was lucky.

4th of July prank nearly went real bad for me. I was driving home from work the night before the July 4th holiday in 1986. Some idiots were coming from the other direction on a 2 lane road, throwing lit firecrackers at oncoming cars. The one they threw at me bounced off my arm just before it exploded. If it had hit a few inches forward, it could have been in my lap and 2 or 3 inches back could have wedged between my back and the seat. Parts of the firecracker was in the car and I had spots on my face, neck, and arm where it burned me. My ear rang for a few days and it gave me a headache. I can only imagine what might have happened if it had not hit my arm and bounced out.
As a youngster, sure we did pranks, but not as serious as pretending to rob someone with a knife and possibly get shot. I knew people would start getting hurt after seeing some pranks online. and it's only going to get worse. 😟

In regard to the egg-throwing death, something like that happened in Vermont. About 23 years ago, a carload of teenagers decided it would be fun to throw eggs at random cars. They made a huge mistake. One of the other drivers took it seriously and began chasing the car with the teens in it. Eventually, the vehicle the teens were in went off the road and into a ditch. The pursuing vehicle apparently hit the back of the car after it went off the road. One of the teens in the back seat was killed. The pursuer was convicted of involuntary manslaughter. if he had not hit the back of the car, he never would have been charged with anything. If the teens had not been throwing eggs, they would all have still been alive.
My friend Ian and I used to do this We would drive down the road and soon as a car came then other direction you just lob an egg out the passenger window as they go by. Usually the people hit their wipers and it smears it across the window. We thought it was hilarious.
