@TheAdhdGardener I hope Jose is doing better. There's a lot of herbs available to help with his cholesterol issues. Herbs are the best medicine and the best way to keep one healthy. Food is medicine. It's like keeping our bodies finely tuned so we won't have issues later on. Keep growing your food/medicine!!!!

Thankyou. He's got a long road ahead recouping. Maybe he'll help out in the garden for some light garden work next year! Garden therapy is great for cardiac rehab. Help grow his salad🌻

👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👊🏽💚 This was a MUCH NEEDED video!! I appreciate it and I hope people listen before their bodies MAKE them listen...as mine did getting Fibromyalgia (& a bunch of other chronic shit) at 31 & then disabled by 35!! Keep spreading the word and showing us how to grow our own food. I have a feeling eventually many of us will have to do it.✌🏽🌻

Sorry about José.. Nothing is scarier than to have to take a loved one to the Emergency Room... José is lucky to have you in his life and vice versa... Rebuilding your Green House so you can grow healthy veg. is a grwat way to be proactive in helping both of you healthy.

Thanks🌻. He's doing much better but still has a long ways to go. Meanwhile I fixed that greenhouse and have started another hydroponic system

Happy Jose is doing better! I like your attitude! Good/bad/positive/negative… you throw it all out there. As a Latina, I have high cholesterol and so disappointed in my own laziness. You guys can do this and I’m gonna do it too! The more you plant, the more you eat! Already miss my full summer garden!

I've really come to appreciate how delicious healthy food is. What could be tastier than some brown rice, chicken, and fresh veggies sauteed in olive oil, garlic, onion, with herbs and spices? Or rice and beans with all that stuff? I'll take that over fast food or a microwaved meal any day! It's all about your relationship to food and how you think about what you eat.

I recently was diagnosed with congestive heart failure also. Idk if that's what he has but i felt the same way. I get real tired outa nowhere and my heart beat is crazy. I'm native so i don't like taking pills or anything like that. I went and the old man and he said use ginger for your heart. Drink as a tea or eat it but that what been helping me. Also sassy frast tree root well help with the high blood pressure. I hope he feels better those have help me.

As a person of color, I have to be careful about what I eat. I went to the doctor and ended up in the ER because my blood pressure was sky high. I can't eat anything pre-made. And I can't eat anything fast food. I make everything and I mean everything from scratch. It's tiring sometimes. I ate dinner at 8 pm last night because I was trying to make breadsticks and it just ended up being a calzone. Delicious and vegetarian because I have a meat allergy. I'm glad Jose is doing well.

wow. i hope i'm not intruding here but i had my first cardiac event at 39. since then - 28 yrs later - there have been 5 more. apparently i've inherited a flaky ticker from my father. i never knew i had a problem before because i've always felt the way i do now but apparently that's not ideal. for the first time ever though, my hdl is higher than my ldl and my total cholesterol is less than 90. after i had my first heart attack i started to garden. that and walking my dogs are the best therapies for my stress level & blood pressure. i grow most of my vegetables during the growing season in my small garden, it just takes planning. i don't attribute my cholesterol scores to medication either. it's taken a couple of years since i found out about the quality & quantity of the omegas but it definitely has made a difference - of course a healthy diet matters a little too. thoughts & good energy coming your way and make sure jose gets hooked up with a cardiologist he likes. it makes a big difference.

I know one time i went to the dentist and she checked my blood pressure and heart rate, then looked at me oddly and said she was gonna check it again. And she said i had super low blood pressure and a low heart rate. Like seriously low i guess. Now im afraid at 33 years old that my heart will just stop one day. I have not done my body well, alcohol and drugs in ny past and still struggle with alcohol honestly, however, i am trying to do better and i am active as much as i can, i love fresh veggies so maybe thats why im still good 😅😂 but seriously, please, anyone that reads this, go to normal checkups. I never have and i still dont, but im afraid and plan on going normally here out. Im more afraid for my husband, hes 37, and his father had a heart attack and a pace maker put in at 50. We can all do better! I wish you and your hubby well and ill pray for you both!

Oh, plus, i smoke also, do i know that's not good for me. At 42, my mother had to get her throat scrapped. At 38, she had breast cancer and they got it all luckily. It was early. At 17, i had two cysts removed from my left breast. They said they were ok though because they didnt have blood flow through them i guess, but because of the size and discomfort, they removed them to be safe. I am probably the least heslthy person i know. And so is my husband, but, were trying to do better and i wish everyone the same, to just try to do better. ❤
