How to Make Kao Fu - Magical Vegan Meat
Making Kao Fu is so easy and simple. Here, I’m going to share with you how easy it is to make your own Kao Fu, why you'll love to make it, and how versatile Kao Fu can be when it comes to cooking vegan cuisine.
Ingredients:
100g vital wheat gluten flour
150ml lukewarm water (30 - 32°C)
½ tsp sugar
¼ tsp dried active yeast (the type needs to dissolve in water)

@susiegilmour3520 Not at all, you're very welcome. When making Kao Fu, you don't need to flavour the dough at all, as you will add flavours in the marinate as you would with "real meat" before cooking. Hope this helps. Thank you very much for watching the videos 😍💚

I just steamed it in an instant pot. Put in covered stacked tins that I have and did a double batch. I cup water, two tins, steam setting for 18 minutes, NPR. Turned out great!

Instead of deep fry could u air fry?

@angieyipetsitter5361 I haven't tried to cook Kao Fu with air-fryer yet, I mainly use pan-searing method most of the time, have only did deep-frying once or twice, so I'm interested in if it works with air-frying too 😊 🤔

Please let us know how you get on and send some pics 💛 Yes, I usually make a big batch which will last me up to three months, as long as they are being kept in airtight containers, they'll be perfect to use after defrosting. You can take a portion out from freezer to defrost in the fridge over night, or it only needs a few hours in room temperature to thaw. As Kao Fu is so versatile to use in recipes, you'll love having them in the freezer for any quick delicious meals ideas😋🥰
