@@hotdogfingerz9674 In the future, the Elder Scrolls that we grew up with, may very well be referred to as the 'Elder' Elder Scrolls I'll just see myself out now...
It's really ironic how Puri can finish this game in a world record time from muscle memory, but says shit like "The lizard dudes. Argonians, I think". Even if it's just a joke, it's bizarre :D
I was kinda fuzzy sleepy while watching that and at some point I thought youtube or the video capture was wrong and was showing me the same section in repeat. No, I really,. then I moved the video forward and saw the same thing over and over again, jumping over water, getting that paper, wtf? I was mind confused,. then I realized it's the game. LOL
The Eternal Champion went on a ten year quest to reassemble the staff of chaos and defeat Jagar Tharn and his pawns to save the Emperor from Oblivion, only to get cut down by a common guard outside of a city immediately after his quest. gg
its amazing how he memorizes all those places like 50% of my Arena playthrought was asking people where is some main quest character and looking for the building
To be honest, you should take your time in this game. I'd recommend fully exploring as many dungeons as you can, particularly the first one. This will maximise your xp and loot potential. Since the game has randomized loot you could get some really valuable items if you do even a bit of exploring. I have done a playthrough on my channel if you're interested to see how you could go about playing the game.
it looks like he is using a mouse & keyboard throughout the duration of this run... but this was actually a TAS & he was just rolling a massive blunt the whole time.
Man, this speedrun (not the speedrunner, though) is really boring :P Having to go through the same exact 30 second long dungeon almost 20 times kind of gets a little boring after a while.. Although at least now I know what Elder Scrolls: Arena is like
it's obviously some kind of exploit. they bug the quest items so they can keep grabbing the same quest item and it counts as all of them for some reason
Yes the first dungeon has a bug, where the paper counts as every quest item. If you want to experience the real game just do not enter Stonekeep again.
@@youju26 I am still unlikely to actually ever experience the game myself, but I'm sure the game itself is fine sans the speedrun strats haha also looking back, my OG comment reads a bit more negative than I think I intended. Whoops
Sorry to respond to this necro comment but the joke is every bethesda game is so extremely glitchy you are more likely to have random glitches that change the game experience than not, rendering glitchless runs "impossible".
The graphics aren't necessarily "better", but is it just me or does Arena have superior graphical design to Daggerfall? As a result, to me it almost looks better than Daggerfall, despite it fundamentally being more pixelated....
That's impossible. The game automatically generates the terrain outside towns and loops it after a certain amount of distance travelled. It would go on for an infinite amount of time until you run out of memory.
It's been demonstrated here on RU-vid that the map keeps looping after you reach a certain distance away from a town or village. The person walked in a single direction for many hours and when he turned around and came back the way he came (after a few minutes of running back) he was facing the town he had left from ages ago.
It was a bit repetitive after a few dungeons, but it can get fun depending on what class you chose. Spellcasters are the most diverse and I'd recommend trying one of the classes that are dependent on spell power. It's more interesting to play too, since enemies will hit you harder.
@@IG7799-c4u after collecting strong armor, the artifact bow turning enemies to dust, and 200k gold, with the vision of doing the same i was doing since start, in other words: town-dungeon-town-dungeon-town-dungeon... i gave up on this one. but im not TES hater believe me. Played Morrowind, Skyrim, played fukin Oblivion 2 times.
I see, I understand it's not for everyone and I respect your viewpoint. I for one enjoy all the different games for different reasons, Arena despite it's flaws and rather repetitive nature still holds up for me. We have to remember how old this game is as well, Arena was considered to be pretty ambitious for its time. Which is why I still play it quite frequently to this day. Perhaps it's the nostalgia? Who knows.
@@IG7799-c4u yes but it was trash comment about how i like Wizardry games over TES Arena. I mean generally, compared to Wizardry 7, TES Arena gameplaywise is a spit towards Wiz7 face. Sorry to say that.
No, at 11:53 he explains that because of the "patched, most stable version of Elder Scrolls Arena" there is a glitch where the first item you need to get for the first quest in the game respawns. Because it's glitched, it apparently auto completes the quest that he is on, regardless of the item that he needed. So what he's doing in this run is constantly going back to the first dungeon and getting the first item to complete the quest, then he gets the next quest for the next piece of the staff of chaos. He never actually goes into a different dungeon, he's going into the same dungeon over and over.
It's because in the CD version it introduces a bug where the game respawns the tablet you need to get from Stonekeep everytime you visit the dungeon. And for some reason, it thinks that each time you get the tablet you are getting another piece of the staff, which you need to collect pieces off in order to beat the game. Same goes with touching the Jewel to defeat Tharn, the game thinks that you clicking on the tablet is you clicking the jewel. What is interesting is this bug isn't present on the Floppy-disk version.
