Camera accessories are fantastic tools that aid our photographic lives and make shots that little bit easier. L-brackets are one of these great tools, they allow users to switch from landscape to portrait in one fell swoop. But finding the right type of L-bracket can be very difficult, especially if you have an oddly shaped camera body or you have two different camera bodies. The Ellie by 3 Legged Thing, could be the answer to your quarrels.

you can remove battery without removing L-bracket you just need to buy the correct one for your camera (also if your mounting a camera with a long heavy lens mount it on the lens not camera unless you want to damage the lens mount).

On my A6 and a7 series I don’t have to remove it to change the batteries, now I wished they would make it in there iconic blue .

Advise for next time - please don't keep showing pointless B-roll when you're actually showing off the different configurations of the L-bracket.

Good point. This video is quite old now and I think we noticed and corrected this in later videos. Fingers crossed! Thanks for the constructive criticism, it is appreciated. - MikePhotoBite

Have you noticed any instability or bending of the bracket when mounted in portrait? Seems like a dumb idea to have a gap in a piece of equipment that you want to be as stable as possible. It's the only thing holding me back from potentially buying one. Thanks!

Not as yet, and it's been a while. Totally understand what you mean by "The gap" but so far it's not proved to be an issue (personally).

Removing the entire thing to change batteries? What a waste. No thanks.

Not on all cameras.

That is why they have the shorter version too, I am ordering for small a6100.

@@RayStephenson even the normal (non short) Ellie version doesn't impede access to the battery on the a6xx series cameras, you can see one mounted to an a6400 on their website

When pointing to a specific part you are describing it really helps when the back of your hand completely hides your fingers. You do know viewers don't get your perspective? Pointing to a gap with a hidden finger is a really clever trick. I stopped watching at that point.
