When he started fake-crying about missing his daughter's graduation -- Seriously? Why were you unable to attend, Darrel? Did your chioces have anything to do with it? How about the parents of that boy you crushed with your car at the parade? How many milestones are they missing because you killed their child? This judge was overly-polite to this evil man, in my opinion.
everything, i mean everything that ripples he caused it his family?? what about the children who will never see their grandparents or the family that wont see their son grow up , he's discusting
Absolutely she was it's like forget about all the people he killed and this one he tried to kill He's just been a perfect gentlemen. When you have six life sentences and of course not the attention on him on this case like his trail did not use in arguing back with the judge
Because they don't matter. He ran over Erika because he could no longer control her. Therefore, he had to bring her back under his control or eliminate her. He ran over the people in the parade because he had been thwarted in trying to hurt Erika again. He knocked them over like chess pieces and he was HAPPY doing it.
I couldn't imagine having a father like that. Mine is his own piece of work and was completely absent from my life...and I'm grateful for that. To think of having this worthless sack of pigshit not only being my father but AROUND me? To have his mentality and mental illness infect my worldview? I feel for his children and the stigma this man has placed on their shoulders...
Yes. Very true but the fact that this judge called his daughter extraordinary for graduating from high school gives you an idea for how low her bar is when it comes to what is extraordinary
He dislocated Erika's femur! That's EXTREMELY painful. The damage to her hip socket means she'll likely have painful arthritic changes requiring surgery later on. It was attempted murder! How heckin' dare he try getting her to have charges dismissed.
Maybe because English is not my language, because I saw some of the trial videos, but never understood, what exactly was the reason now, that he has done this!? If you know, if I may ask!?
You hit the nail on the head! He still believes he can manipulate the judge just as he manipulated everyone else in his life before he got caught! If he can't do it through violence he'll do through tears and pretend sorrow. Typical narcissistic, psychopathic, bully, b.s.!
He has a personality disorder. It is very hard to effect change in people like that. He honestly believes no one else in the world matters but him. He is superior to all others and his needs and desires are preeminent. The rest of us just exist to make his life hard.
@@isanedRespectfully, I don't understand your position. I appreciate that a lot of people agree with you, but him not being alive would mean an end to any suffering he might experience. In my mind, that would be a 'get out clause' for Brooks. It's not punishment in my mind - quite the opposite - and I want him to receive as much punishment as humanly possible. Edit: I guess if you believe there is a literal 'hell' and that Brooks would go there, unaliving him would make sense, but I don't believe that to be the case. I believe being unalive is like before you were born. Simply not existing in any sense.
His daughter graduated DESPITE having him for a father, and the judge wasn't too easy on him, she was cold, factual, professional and dismissive, everything he hates.
Shortly after the trial, Erica did a podcast stating that DB only met their daughter when Erica was living in Georgia at her cousins house with all of her children…. Brooks fled Nevada, went to Georgia and that’s when he met their daughter who was 14 at the time . As per Erica DB was trying too hard to play daddy when they didn’t even know each other… he was being strict and verbally abusive to her and that is why he wanted to go back to Wisconsin for a couple of weeks to take a break and visit his mother… They went back to Wisconsin and the rest is history …… At the time of this podcast stated that he and their daughter have not spoken since the day they left Georgia, they have no relationship “ and my daughter can’t stand him”. I can’t imagine him having a relationship with the youngest seven-year-old girl being that she lived in another State .. When your child is little like that, and you don’t see them because you live in another state, what kind of relationship can you have?.. He has the firstborn son that’s around 20 years old now …. However, that’s the child that he was brought back to court nine times for unpaid child support. Bottom line …. it doesn’t sound like he has relationships with any of his children so he’s so FOS when he talks about them
As someone raised by a narcassistic father... The relationship doesn't matter to them, in regards to their children... Their ACCOMPLISHMENTS or "WINS" do because they can be USED to make the narcassist "appear" like they achieved something(not reality but it's how they literally think & use their "children") I call mine a sperm donor for a reason.... Unless it benefitted him or unless he beat his emotions out on me in secret to "correct me" to make good accomplishments for him I meant no more than that to him but less because to him I was a TOOL quite literally FOR HIM! Or they can use it for their benefit in other ways, call you crazy so ppl never believe you (mind you that was more used in growing up so he could hit or be rough with me as "punishment" around others & it was the 90s) etc too, but in a public setting like this he used it to essentially make himself feel good (or I call it getting off on her accomplishments but don't mean sexually as I suck at words & the lower than a human, which they are, I can make them seem the better 🤷♀️.)Tbh makes me even MORE glad he wasn't in their lives when it counted most . As until recently my sperm donor was forced on me even tho when I became physically disabled to point of bed & wheelchair pretty much 24/7 & needed full-time care in last decade & luckily he stopped hitting me once he was told how it could kill me due to my health 🙄, tho that was because mum finally believed me with a cPTSD diagnosis DUE to lifelong abuse from him & him alone, & finally could no longer believe him with the "oh those bruises must just be from you playing around"🤦♀️ when I literally couldn't even get out of the house without help or you know, even BED MOST of the time (I'm 33 & was only under a year ago finally mum kicked him out after FINALLY she stopped lying to her & also saw he had gotten violent against my sister because I was no longer safe as his outlet & she's the "golden child" so that isn't okay in her books or my sister doesn't lie about that stuff like I do/did 🙄... But he did start doing in front of her with me too but always ignored it(most was hidden tho because he knew my mum wouldn't take it due to my health & disabilities basically born with but later got much worse) but wasn't UNTIL it was my sister not "the scapegoat" of the family wasn't okay anymore or hard for her to ignore it & say it like it was my fault like she always said moment he (or ironically my sister because she learnt from the best of them from him that I was Less than human & the punching bag verbally & physically) & either of them blew up EVER! So just glad they were too young so they didn't go either of those ways of being like me with cpstd & trauma or my sister & turn into them, which imo is one of 2 options when raised by this type of monster! Makes me question if his father was exactly the same ESPECIALLY how his mother has this screwed reality like what he did is "normal" & "not his fault" seems like she's more used to it for more than just him...
Thanks for this information. Does it surprise you that he doesn’t have a relationship with his children? Not me! Anytime a person refers to another adult as “my children’s mother” or in slang terms, “baby momma,” I know he’s not a dad.
@@timwolters1969 That's what I meant. He's crying because he didn't get to see his daughter graduate. How dare he cry about that! At least his daughter is alive to graduate. Jackson is not. He killed that little boy. Brooks can go fuck himself.
Who is going to feel sorry for him not getting to see his daughter graduate???? It is his fault! Unlike the parents of the kids he killed, he made a choice.
When he started to cry, it made me want to puke. When he killed those six people several years ago did, did he shed one darn tear??? I bet not. I despise this person. 😡 I hope the judge saw through his crap. Yes I am sending these comments during the trial.
He did in fact cry during the trial for those 6 killed and many injured, but it was due to the fact that HIS life was "on the line", which he stated several times when whining about the trial being unfair to him. Then during this hearing he again is crying for himself, not his children or Ericka. He's exactly where he deserves to be
Honestly I just feel contempt for him, he's not even worth hating. There's nothing redeemable or interesting about him. He's just a small, whiny person who can only feel big when he's harming others
He ran over 6 people, and felt entiteld to ask for Jury nullification as if he had a weed charge in a state where it`s not legal saiyng ocmmon had I steped over state lines it would`ve been legal. He deserves the word hate. I forgot how much I hate him till I watched this. He has never even explained himself only looked for a way out. It was no accident, he wsn`t drunk or high , he didn`t have psychotic break, he simply felt entiteld to take that road and unalive anyone in his way.
Food for thought. The average cost to the people to keep an inmate is 39k (2023 numbers). The United States awards 36k a year to 100% disabled vets. Just think about this. The People have allocated more for the care of this man than they have allocated for the care of one completely disabled vet.
Also people that came to this country illegally, They're getting financial assistance over our vets, free housing, free food, free Healthcare...all on our dime...Between the incarcerated and Illegals...They're killing America
It was 10 years max. She basically shaved one year off because he pled no contest and didn’t drag Erica through a trial. Bs give him the max and throw away the key.
The victim in this case was too scared to bring herself to court because of the political rhetoric going around SE Wisconsin right now. In a way, she has her own issues too.
Erica deserves finality to this case and to see justice, regardless of Waukesha… And I am glad that that’s what this judge did . Now she can finally close the door on him and know that Justice was served .👏👏👏👏👏
but he should have gotten 18 years all togehter behind bars but she olnly gave him 9 so if god forbid he gets any of the parade stuff thrown out we have seen it before in other high profile cases then he will only have to stay behind bars for 9 if he ever gets out then he will go after her for sure
Exactly, strangulation shouldn't be sth you can get away with probation, it is attempted murder. Especially he was already convicted of a prior battery and statutory R before the strangulation. The strangulation case was in 2010, it was in wood county and a different woman than Erica, meaning he got put out on the streets after it.
"Brooks was sentenced on November 16, 2022. Judge Dorow imposed six back-to-back life sentences without the possibility of parole, one for each of the deceased victims, to be served consecutively. For the sixty-one counts of reckless endangerment, she sentenced Brooks to a total of 762 years of initial confinement and 305 years of extended supervision. For the six counts of hit-and-run, he received 150 years to run concurrently with the reckless endangerment sentences.[89] People attending the trial applauded when Dorow announced the sentence.[90]"
I've never understood this whole "I came from a broken home, let me just do the same thing." Like... a lot of us dealt with a horrible childhood, either one parent or both parents that were less than stellar or were should have been criminally charged for the way they treated the other. And guess what we took that example as: how not to treat our significant others. How not to treat our children. This guy's just a psychopath who wants to blame the world.
I hate this saying!!!! No one reads the Bible any more!!! Jeremiah 13:23 in the Old Testament, Which says, "Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard its spots? Then may you also do good who are accustomed to do evil." If I have to spell that out, you are voting for Kamala!!!! The Chameleon Queen!!!
What can I say? Rot in jail. On a side note, that defense lawyer was QUALITY. Great delivery, confidence and argumentation. Looks like an amazing professional.
"On November 21, 2021, Darrell Edward Brooks Jr. drove a sport utility vehicle (SUV) through the annual Christmas parade in Waukesha, Wisconsin, United States, killing 6 people and injuring 62 others."
He still doesn't know the magnitude and the grief he caused too so many people. It's all about himself the judge should have asked him why he missed his daughter's graduation and he would be unable to admit the tragedy he caused to so many..
Why are they talking as if this fool will ever get out of prison. Domestic and anger classes and credit for time served?!?! Why does any of that matter his life is over.
His tears are for his being in custody; he isn’t capable of caring about other human beings… it is PATHETIC for him to use his kids as “mitigating factors “😱🤮
He did ask for standby(when he was getting his butt kicked) but during the pretrial hearing, judge Dorow made it clear that he wasn’t going to get one, under Wisconsin statute. google (chapter PD 5), the judge read this to brooks in the pretrial hearing.

His daughter was able to graduate early and did all these amazing things and he gives no credit to the mother. Instead, he runs the woman over and now cries like a child because he missed seeing this daughter walk across the stage. OMG!!! The nerve!
He missed his Daughter graduation because of his actions. His Daughter thrived without himIt’s amazing that his children haven’t followed in his footsteps. Thank God for the other parent

I NEVER hear his name comes out of a democrat's mouth, but they love saying all white people and cops are bad. No, F--k that!
Honestly, would DB have attended his daughter’s graduation if there wasn’t money in it for him? Hypothetically, if he were free, and had the means to get there, he would have been getting high with his buddies or hustling some other woman to put up with his crap. He wouldn’t have bothered to attend a ceremony for someone else. He has never made his children a priority.
Damn poor Darrell missed hie child "walking across the stage". I can only imagine how many missed events he's caused others to have. Hard to have sympathy for Darrell, who has shed more tears here than at any other time previous. Have a good one Mr. Brooks may your new journey have a few speed bumps
@@Katrina-qs2rl Isn't that the truth. 😡You can only imagine what he must owe in child support. I've never heard how he supported himself let alone his kids.
It's oddly comforting to see lawyers work so hard to advocate for him despite the horrible actions he's taken, both to cause the trial and during the trial itself. I pretty much skipped over any part where he was talking because he's just so unbearable.
@@MrLachyG Because it's everybody's right, innocent or guilty. It's sort of a double-edged blessing that he refused to let himself be represented in the main trial, thank goodness for that! But you're absolutely right, it's a super difficult job and every public defender I've ever met is immensely talented. I think it's single-handedly the most significant part of our legal system that every person is entitled to representation during criminal proceedings and I'm always delighted to see such outstanding individuals defending someone on principle, even though they don't deserve it
@@sunburntsatan6475people want to say that defense attorneys are the worst people in the world or are even evil because they sometimes defend evil people, but in reality they are better than a lot of attorneys who will never defend criminals because they have to put aside their personal feelings a lot of times and make sure the person they are defending actually receives the treatment that they are entitled to. That's not an easy position to be in.
@@MrLachyGI've asked criminal defense lawyers how they do it, and they say, "Everyone needs a friend in the court," and they're right. We all need an advocate when we're in that position.
I agree, DB is the worst of the worst but I have no problem with how the judge handled it. He's in forever, we all know that, but I think of the prison staff having to deal with him. He still has hope no matter how small and delusional and in return he may be less of an Ahole to those who have to deal with him for the rest of life!!
It still matters as Erica deserves justice for what he did to her. I notice he never apologized for what he did to her, just to his children. Will his mom ever get in trouble for intimidating a witness?
Mommy is probably hiding someplace and hoping no one will ever find her. She might not get charged in anything BUT she is indeed living in her own prison.
My husband was a Neuro Trauma ICU nurse and saw many people pass. One patient said to him, you don’t want to be on your deathbed and realize you didn’t do a frigging thing with your life.
He thrives on attention. If there’s any justice in the world at all, they’ll lock him in a cell all alone where he is silenced forever and forgotten, so that he can live with the only person he ever loved.
There's a part of me that I wish Erica was here to say what she needed to say to Darrell, but it's obvious after the many, many years of abuse that this man has done to her that she needs to heal a lot before she could do that, and I pray not only healing for her, but healing for her children. I pray that They all get the support that they need to be able to continue to live their lives without this monster, hounding over them.
When they were discussing the daughter's graduation and the judge said "She is exceptional." She should have added, "Are you sure that you are her father?"
I am glad Erika isn’t there. He already has a life sentence… I want her to never have to see or deal with him EVER again. What she went through from him in the parade trial was enough.
He showed absolutely no remorse nor accepts any responsibility for his actions. The way he speaks is so manipulative and narcissistic and pandering; the exact behavior of a controlling domestic abuser. He feels like he can manipulate this judge just like any other woman.
Seeing the judge pander to Brooks was stomach turning. I understand she may want to appear unmoved by the Waukesha incident and highlight Brooks’ demeanor in her courtroom and his efforts to ‘work’ on change. However, it came across as kissassery, a small tic before deference. She did decide to charge him towards the max which is satisfying. But, to waste tax payer funds and take away a seat from others who truly want to change or desperately need instruction because they will actually be released into society, is ludicrous and wasteful. Brooks deserves to sit and rot alone, not go to class and mingle with others, nor have any enjoyable experience to free his mind from thinking over what he has done!
I agree, but she can't show bias...That is absolutely grounds for a successful appeal...She is doing everything she can to hold her composure...and not show bias...due to the Waukesha parade attack
Oh Lawd, when the judge started praising Dirtbag Brooks I thought that she was going to start singing Kum-by-ya and invite him to her house for Thanksgiving dinner!! 🤦🏻♀️
When he was going through the Waukesha trial, he did have another child. I don't think there was a relationship, relationship but he did have another child
@@donnafisher6212 yes. He has 4 children. The oldest son, 20. The 2 girls, 17 and probably 10 now. And a son born during the trial. However, I'm guessing since he never sees any of his children, he can't speak to their ages or what's going on with them. 😂😂😂
how would he know how it affected his kids when he don't know his kids period, the one kid that knew him hated him. he is so sickening!! he has never spoke to them are cared to be around them, he is making up what he saying to the judge as he goes, and it's his only time!! I can't believe this judge saying it's not her issue it's theirs' that's just crazy!! if she buys his lies then she don't need to be a judge, I am so glad she wasn't the judge over him in the Waukesha Christmas Parade horror!!
On that note - Jackson Sparks was an innocent victim of this man’s hateful rage, and perhaps also of his racism - I feel like the potential federal hate crime and terrorist violations in Waukesha have not been properly investigated, and I am hopeful that at some point in the future we might see a proper federal investigation of his actions, to determine if his connection to racist organizations played a role in the murders, and to determine if he committed a terrorist act (based on the racist lyrics of some of his records) and to determine if other individuals might be liable for aiding and abetting, not necessarily his mother, but perhaps other persons involved in the production of the record, et cetera. Of course it is quite possible he is just an angry, wrathful man with no control over his passions whose preferred way of dealing with anger is to run people over, as this case demonstrates, but it is also possible that his wrath towards the victim in this case, who he attempted to kill in Waukesha, also, before the main murder occurred, could have, in his frustration at being unable to run her over a second time, or to get from her what he wanted, whatever that was, may have caused him to want to react against those groups who he wrongfully believes have oppressed him, and to specifically target those people by deliberately driving into the parade route and committing murder that way.
@Law Talk With Mike - would it be double jeopardy for the Feds to charge him federally for a terrorist attack for the incident in Waukesha? Because perhaps that might, if not unconstitutional, be a way of providing the alternative to anger management you suggested, which unfortunately for the victims is not offered by the most serene archons of Wisconsin.
his defense constantly flip flopped around weather they should consider his mass murder incident. sometimes he would say that sentence is just academic at this point because of the multiple life sentences, but then he would say they need to look at this case in a vacuum. Witch one is it?
As it occurred after the fact due to technical legal reasons it could not be used to influence the outcome of the case. There is unfortunately a slim possibility that he could get out on appeal. The judge made sure that if that happens he is gonna do at least 9 years before he gets out if the appeal is successful
Watching this judge try to "get through to him" was really getting on my nerves. And hearing him "cry" (for himself, not for anyone else) was pretty infuriating. Lock him up, and throw away the key. If he is able to be a better person, he can be one while locked away from everyone he could potentially hurt in the future.
FWIW: The audio is taken from the sound system so it's clear. The video is blurry because it's being shot from an adjacent room, looking through a pane of glass. Reflections and false reads to the focusing system can leave the operator having to accept compromises in focus.
I can hardly stomach hearing his voice. I hope we never hear from him again for the sake of everyone that he hurt and for the family and friends of those he killed. Even after all this, he has the nerve to come in and talk as if he's a victim. I hope he lives as long as possible in jail so he gets the full misery of his sentence.

As soon as he realizes that she’s not taking pity on him, the crying instantly stops. He made his entire statement about him and how well he’s doing and never suggests that he’s sorry for what he did or that he’s bothered by how he treated a loved him. It’s a reference to his childhood to excuse his behavior instead of acknowledging that his decisions are his and only his and not made due to what someone else did to him. He has not changed since his last major appearance in court, he’s simply changed his manipulation tactic.
