A wise man once told me: “Both hating someone and loving someone gives them power. Indifference takes that power away.” We need to apply this to the Kardashian’s.
I don’t care at all for the Kardashians. I used to watch it back in 2010, and stopped watching it in 2011; I watched it bc I use to love Kim’s personality and sense of humour, but I don’t feel the same.
What annoyed me the most about Kim wearing Marilyn’s dress is that she tried to say she was the same as Marilyn but at a different time. No honey, you are not.
This is Kim being a narcissist....I don't throw that word around casually, but she seriously is one. She believes she is the be-all and end all. She is going to have a major bump, or should I say bang down to earth when she is old, old news and past it.....her ego won't take it. She will seriously be in competition with her children like Kris has always been with them but much, much worse.
Ugh, same. I’ve never followed them that closely, but I do care about Monroe and the way she treated that dress (and spread the idea that losing a lot of weight will change your body type, which: it doesn’t and it didn’t. That dress did not fit her.).
What I don't understand about the Kardashians is how people witnessed them ripping everybody off and conning them and nobody called them out. They lied, stole and cheated get their money and nobody said a word.
I think the Kardashians really mattered PR and knew how to keep news moving along and how to distract the public so rarely did they receive unwanted negative attention (and often would use negative attention to their advantage for their show)
here’s a riddle. what’s right in front of you but also impossible to see with the naked eye? the web of lies surrounding the Kardashians and Jenners. the reason for their rise and fame (especially the things we never witnessed as the public) will also be their downfall. that’s the problem with an empire, it’s great until it’s not.
Marilyn was NOTHING like Kim Kardashian. Marilyn did not grow up rich, she was not an evil brat, did not influence getting extreme plastic surgery, and unlike Kim, SHE WAS ACTUALLY TALENTED.
One thing the pandemic makes me grateful for is people finally realizing how detached and tone deaf celebrities can be from regular people. Thus allowing us to reevaluate why we hold these people on such a high pedestal in the first place
ikr like ppl were dying of poverty and everything before coivd hit. its really interesting that ppl only took that kind of disparity seriously when it got sm worse
It was such a moment of reckoning and I really feel the pand€mic is accelerating their irrelevancy which lets be honest, is about a decade overdue. At least C0vid was good for something, silver linings and all that 😊 The Kardashians...didn’t Keep Up with what was going on around them 🤭
Personally I don’t understand why it took people so long to realize that celebrities are out of touch with reality. And I wouldn’t even say they’re out of touch. They literally live in a different reality. It’s our own fault for worshipping celebrities. There was never anything relatable there. It just took people too long to realize it
@@RocioNicte Right with you... As soon as this whole "Kardashians" thing started, I remember feeling disgusted... Tells you a lot about how pathetic society in general is... They've NEVER cared about you and they NEVER will... YOU are someone that they use to make money off of... YOU have the power to end this and put your energy into what actually matters... YOU....
These people are way out of our league and that’s fine. They may have all the wealth, the fame and their lapdogs but at least I have my privacy and the freedom to pursue what I love at work and with my family.
Kim standing there saying she lost 16 lbs to fit that dress is such a disgusting lie. She broke the zipper, and wore something skin colored under it to try and hide it, and then draped the fur around her to cover it. She ruined that dress!
I wouldn't even dare to wear something so ancient and even in the museum for so long. It would be better if she wears a replica of the dress or let the designer to make a new dress inspired of Marilyn' dress not wear the original dress!
@@margarethmichelina5146neither would I ! It should have STAYED in the museum! She ruined the happy birthday dress! 😢 That should have been protected 😢
She squeezed her oink ass in it and tore that beautiful dress. She looked ridiculous in it too. Why would they let kim taint that dress anyways?? Sickening.
She may have lost the weight but the dress was a custom fit to MM whose body type is way different. And whoever allowed her to wear the dress should take responsibility. I’m sure there was money involved 😮 and that makes it even more disgusting.
@@cruelworldhappymind i somehow think this is at least a bit due to realizations many people had during the pandemic... like what truly matters, what is authentic to us etc. and that surely does *not* include the ideals the kardashians represents and has pushed on us. (just fyi, i haven't watched your video yet so i don't know if you bring this idea up too😊)
Right? Their claim to fame was that they were family friends with OJ Simpson and their dad was his lawyer in the trial. I don’t understand why they were given any more attention after that case
@@cruelworldhappymind I think it's because in the earlier seasons of their show, they were somewhat relatable and acted like regular people with privilege. Now, they're a circle of goddesses wearing "human" skin
honestly we just need to be done with celebrity culture.... no one, no matter how amazing they seem, should be idolised to this extent. it's not normal for so many people to look up to this handful group of people just because they are "rich". anyone who is ultra uber rich is most probably at that level because of exploitation of the lower class. why would anyone want to be influenced by exploiters?
So well said. And also, celebrity culture puts a lot of pressure on influencers and celebrities to appear picture perfect when no one is… is toxic for everyone all around imo
I can’t help but think that the main reason why the Kardashians are going through this current downward spiral is because most of their main audience had gained their frontal lobes over the course of the past 3 years and we’ve finally realized that they’re practically billionaires for having little-to-no talent. It was inevitable, if you ask me. Lol
And the whole time, I was saying this exact same thing and being called “jealous and insecure” of plastic surgery bimbos because I detested their way of life. Our generation has always protected them for some odd reason.
@@ILookLikeDrakeSoYeah maybe if you didn't use the horribly misogynistic phrase "plastic surgery bimbos" you'd have had a better recation. I hate them but using those words isn't helping
Kim could never be Marylin. Marylin came from abject poverty, was an intelligent, talented, humble woman who never lost touch with her roots. She faced so much pain from an industry and society that tore her down while Kim was handed everything on a silver plate while her Mum did all the little work that went into their lifestyle.
The ones giving them relevance are the media. If it weren't for them shoving them in our faces everywhere the naive youngsters wouldn't be buying their crap
I dont care qbout them at all but im a sucker for trashy reality tv and the early seasons before they got really big are honestly reality tv gold but its similar to how the earlier seasons of geordie shore are the best before all the people cared about how they came across getting completely trollied and fucking 3 people in one day. The tv show was alway gonna have a life span to the run of the mill i like trashy tv viewer like me because most get to a point that they stop being trashy.
It took way too long for the Kardashians to start to fall. Lately when Kim speaks her narcissism is out of control. All she does is talk about how amazing she is, how hard she works and how hard her life is. I tried to watch their show recently and all it was was Kim bragging about herself. Kim literally said recently "thank goodness this happened to me because if it happened to anybody else they wouldn't be able to handle it" talking about her break up with Kanye where she gets $200,000 a month in child support. Girl, please! Regular people go through so much worse and handle it without $200,000 a month in child support. They were recently saying that they struggled when they had to move out of their house into a condo when they were children. They're completely unrelatable and not interesting anymore. They don't know how to read the room.
U said it best they don’t know how to read the room- the past two years they’ve said and done some really tone deaf things I think the public is really annoyed by
That purse collection is worth MILLIONS NOT THOUSANDS. Literally how much ONE bag is, could change multiple people’s lives. It’s sickening. And the sex tape, everyone knew they set it up. It’s been a “joke” for years. We just finally got confirmation.
I am so ready for this family to fall into abyss. They’ve capitalized off of their fans and the public’s insecurities for waaayy too long. They don’t respect any of us. We are peasants to them.
@Leah Grace huge point! That part makes me seriously sick... they could easily pay their workers a decent wage and they'd get so much better publicity for it. But they don't because that would involve thinking of anyone else but themselves and hoarding money
@@hootiemcboob6332literally her own house workers (drivers, housekeepers, Nannie’s, gardeners etc) had to sue her to get the back wages she owed them… they’re the people that keep her house and kids running smoothly, and she’s a damn billionaire who won’t pay what she owes them - which is a pittance for her. She’s a bit fat stinky POS as far as I’m concerned.
Out of everything, the weirdest thing for me is how Kourtney loses herself in every relationship and it makes me realize- you can have everything and still not have yourself if that makes sense?
@@dreamer0georgi they do, but it surprises me w Kourtney the most because in her interactions w her family, she seems very resistant to the Kardashian machine. But a new man comes along and poof- she completely changes everything about her style, interests, eating habits, etc..
I also find it weird how she quickly married Travis Baker while it took so long for her to date Scott and having on and off relationship for the last 10 years. Meanwhile, Scott is still hanging out with the family even when they're already break up. Sometimes, I feel bad for him as the family has accepted him as part of them as he stated his own parents disobey him or something. Also, there's one episode of the show where Scott and Kourtney went to a vacation while he was dating Sofia Richie, Nicole Richie's sister and Kourtney look awkward most of the time to see them.
"The Kardashian Empire just comes across as fake, insensitive, and alienating." I knew that forever. I could not understand why for the life of me why people in 2016 saw the Kardashians as popular. To me, they've always been a bunch of mean girls of the industry.
I seriously cannot believe how drastic kim and Kyle's faces have changed over the yrs. They both to me had extremely average faces in the beginning of their fame. Kim does not look like herself at all! And yes she seems very mean especially to Kourtney who btw still looks like herself from back in the day. She's not only mean but jealous of her own sister.
Not to mention extremely immoral… constantly lying and unethical business dealings. The list goes on. My daughter had to grow up with her popularity. 😣
If you think about it, Kim is actually quick to sue anyone who has done her wrong. If RJ had illegally realised a sex tap, I am sure Kim and Kris would have definitely sued him.
Having one's mother critique and $leak$ a (redone, Goddess knows how many times) sex tape has to rank as one of the best experiences in life ... Right up there with accidentally discovering your grandparents are into BDSM via a photo album of selfies. #burnbalenciaga 🔥🎉💃
My concern is that the reason behind their possible downfall is not people coming to their senses, but just getting bored with them and waiting for the next "circus". Also, it's a shame that it took a pandemic to figure out that flexes of such scale are in bad taste.
Totally agree. It took a global crisis and massive financial losses to make people realise that ostentatious flexing by people who are famous for absolutely no reason is not it? I don’t hold much hope for the future.
I was thinking about flex culture, when Jake and Logan Paul (+ friends) used to do videos like that all the time, I saw people getting annoyed but expressing that feeling could be done on 2 main ways: 1) A RU-vid video which resulted on getting called jealous, or something like that 2) A tweet which, doesn’t really change anything My point is; on 2020 people used tik tok a lot, and if you complain about something (or someone) and the video goes viral, hundreds of more people will jump and do tik toks expressing the same opinion getting likes, like a circle Which means, nowadays it’s a lot easier to complain about celebrities, It may feels like a lot of strangers online have you back and support your opinion
Years ago Kris said something like, “as a mother when i heard about the sex tape i was very upset and disappointed but as her manager, I realized that we needed to take advantage of the situation” AGAIN, not an exact quote but she said something like that. When she made that statement I knew this was all planned
The thing about Kendall's 818 tequila is that I've never seen a single person say anything good about it. Matter of fact everyone who has tried it has said it's disgusting including Kim. Who even refused to swallow it and almost threw up while taking a shot.
And that’s because it’s diluted tequila. So in the Tequila industry, the historic Hispanic companies who pride themselves when farming agave to create 100% pure tequila. These celebrities brands are actually all from the same manufacturing companies that cut corners due to how long the aging process takes. This results in tequila being cut with vodka in order to keep up with sales and profit margins. It’s a gross practice and of course your going to get a shit product. Then again all the Kardashians ever cared was quantity over quality anyways.
I work in digital marketing. You touched upon the Kardashian-specific perspective really well, so I figured I'd chime in with some of the broader trends that apply to what you've mentioned and how they're shaping culture beyond the Kardashians: 1) Digital desensitization. People have become very familiar with various digital ad and marketing tactics over the years. Simply put, they don't work anymore. This usually is talked about regarding ad placements, but influencer marketing isn't exempt from this trend (especially controversial marketing, which the Kardashians rely on). 2) Loss of trust. On a similar note, companies and influencers really overplayed their hand with advertising. Influencers did not take proper accountability for what brands they accepted sponsorships from, they were often not open about being sponsored, and it didn't take long for the assumption that popular influencer = good product to disappear from this constant abuse of trust. This was especially detrimental for Instagram influencers, who didn't do much other than sponsor products and themselves. 3) Cause-conscious buyers. Gen Z and (slightly less) Millennials are known for being cause-conscious buyers, who will select products and brands according to the values they support. It's important to note here that this is just as much a marketing gimmick as anything else. Most of the value marketing you see, from businesses to influencers, should not be trusted just because it sounds passionate or authentic. Hasan, who you noted in this video, is also mega-rich and enjoys a similar LA designer lifestyle yet also donates significantly less than Kim does to causes that his values line up with. It doesn't make Kim decent, it's just to say that an 'authentic image' is still only an image, and I think it's only a matter of time before people get desensitized to this tactic as well. That being said, once Gen Z became working adults, it was only a matter of time before flex culture would really take a nosedive, but the pandemic really sped this process up. 4) Populism. People are questioning the authority around them more, including cultural authorities. People are tired of Instagram models, Hollywood and wealthy CEOs assuming their status automatically grant them a soapbox to stand on. More people are asking "why should I listen to you?" or "why should I care?" Once people start feeling the talent or effort they put in won't improve their own status in life, being high-status becomes an antagonizing trait rather than an aspirational trait. This has been true throughout history; I don't mean to be a bummer, but this is really common before a significant upheaval or internal conflict in a nation. 5) Media personalization. Influencers did better before people's feeds were ultra-personalized. Most of us are not even viewing the same content anymore. It was a lot easier for the Kardashians to maintain the fame they had if they made headlines in previous decades. Nowadays, making headlines doesn't guarantee you a spot on everyone's screen, so it better not be your main method to achieve fame. 6) Decreased spending power. It's a really bad time to have your business centered around fast (but still expensive) fashion. People have no need to listen to someone constantly selling things if they aren't looking to buy anything. Currently, over half the US population cannot afford a sudden expense of over $1000, and over a quarter have no savings whatsoever. When buying power in a nation is limited, you'll notice fashion slow down quite a bit. Trends will "mute" into more natural themes with minimal accessories, and practical long-term use becomes a bigger selling point. I think your video does a great job of pointing out the symbolism that the Kardashians (and their decline) have regarding popular culture as a whole. I also appreciated how well you outlined that this shift has both good and bad causes when it comes to the lives of regular people and how they've changed. One thing is for certain - this is the most I have ever cared about the Kardashians in my life. I will be returning to my norm of not caring about them after this, but it's pretty damn impressive that you managed to make me.

I hated the beginning of the pandemic because all the celebrities and tik tokers were either partying or traveling and using "fast testing" as an excuse. It was so annoying to see that people who had a large income and a fairly large home did everything but stay inside...
It all comes to self awareness. They do not possess that or neglect it as they get to that status. Forgetting to realize that we are the reason that they are where they are and society changes.
The audacity of celebrities in 2020 was wild. Everything was shut and all they had to do was stay in their mansions and they couldn’t even to that! And they didn’t break the rules for anything life threatening only to have secret parties. Then had the nerve to tell us regular people to stay and home and keep our masks on! Some celebrities even made a song out of “support”. The concept of celebrities needs to die. I think people with talent with always be famous to an extent but no more idolising these selfish people
Clicked this video just to say that even if this family eventually loses their popularity, they have more than enough money to live forever and also provide to the next generations. They played their cards right and they no longer need our attention not even our money.
Nope. They about to spiral with the lack of narcissistic supply. After all, if being made is all they ever wanted, they would have stopped a long time ago. Hell, they never would have started. They came from a great deal of wealth thanks to all the scummy nasty stuff their Dad and other family had done throughout recent history. They are done, they are jokes, and what they're about to go through is gonna be roughhhhhh
I mean in a way you’re right. They probably would have enough money if they chose to live extremely humble lives. But, they would never have enough to upkeep the lavish lifestyle they want. They spend money as soon as they get it.
The fact that Kim truly thinks she "works hard" is so infuriating. Working out is working hard for her & she barely does that just to maintain her surgeries. Can't wait until they are truly irrelevant.
For me I don’t even care whether she “works hard” or not. She may very well work very hard… but so does everyone else. She isn’t doing anything special that makes her more deserving of what she has. Everyone works hard enough to deserve comfort and security, if not luxury as well.
@@rosamy2017 no she doesn't work hard. Don't even question that. Everything is handed to her even her rise to fame was luck & lies. You can be a fan or whatever but never question if she works hard or not because she doesn't. She'd cry if she had to work hard.

What I find striking about the Kardashians is that I never seen them addressing their haters nor their fans. It honestly looks like they live in a completely different planet, even when they receive an overwhelming amount of criticism or hate, not a word about it.
I have never understood the popularity of the Kardashians. I have never watched their show or bought their products. Their success reveals more about who we are and what we value as a society than who they are.
I never understood people idolizing celebrities. I was so exhausted by it growing up and how the world borderline tried to force it on me. I refused, of course, because I had no desire to waste time and energy on that farce, but everyone acted like it was important. Glad to see it beginning to die out, but we have a long ways to go.
For real. Imagine this celebrity was a normal person, how weird would it be to idolize them the same way? We can appreciate talent but also have some limits lol. I like many artists but I will never be obsessed about them.. their art yes but them, no. As for the Kardashians, what even do they do.
Oh yeah me too. In 2000s it was stupid. It is just stuff who cares. I understand wanting to acquire social status but to me just having riduculous stuff isn't the status I worry too much about
I was and still am as you are. I’ve never been starstruck. They’re just people who are gifted in a particular area. Very strange but I also experienced unwanted anger from people for not idolizing celebs 😂
Real talk, I never could say my favorite celebrities when I was younger. I never had a favorite because I always knew at the end of the day the only difference between them and regular people was money.
Being a celeb is all about being relevant. All celebs have two options: 1. overstay their welcome and look desperate trying to cling to relevancy. The world moves on, trends come and go. No matter how many times a celeb manages to jump into the next trend and stay relevant, their time is limited. There will always reach a point where they just cannot maintain the same levels of relevance, and someone new has stepped into their place. And the more a celeb becomes desperate to maintain relevance when it’s slipping, the more people get sick of them. 2. They can gracefully step into the background, working behind the scenes on successful ventures while their celebrity value and respect is still high. The celebs that do this maintain an almost mythic, legend status. They remain associated with their best work and best years in the mind of the population. I think they can also develop an even greater level of respect from the population if thay quietly have other successful ventures because people think “wow, they aren’t desperate for attention and they’re actually smart and able to do other things well/contribute to society in a multifaceted manner”.
Number 1 sounds like you described Madonna. I was a fan in the 80's/90's (when I was a kid and she was at her peak). Now she's just constantly doing cringe photos/videos and trying to stay relevant. She's doing things now that she did back in the day but it just makes her look thirsty and sad. Not to mention the horrendous butt implants she got to make her look like a Kardashian. Even watching her (2003) make out with Britney Spears almost made me 🤮 because it was so awkward. I'm finally getting to an age where I'm seeing the famous people from my youth become senior citizens....taking on 'mother/father' parts on tv/movies and their kids are turning into adults and are the hot version of their parents. The 'hot' celebrities have to age too... No matter what someone does to look younger, if you're a celebrity we are still going to know your true age! 🤭
The 2nd option kind of reminds me of Paris Hilton. She definitely tanked in relevance for a while, but has since regained mild popularity by being financially plausible behind the scenes.
That only works for influencers or reality star type celebs tho(or you can even say some musicians and actors). Say Beyonce for example, She debuted in 1997 and 26 yrs later she is still more relevant than many new stars. I think the key for staying relevant is staying mysterious. And only sharing what you want to share and keeping your family and personal life out of public life. Which is where the kardashians fail
As a person who never watched or followed them, I can sincerely say. I'm so glad that others are finally giving them the irrelevance. They have been from the start and only gave insecurities in particular to woman and girls just to sell products. The same as media typically does. They have a lot of money and they don't need anymore. It fascinates me how this family was idolized and became celebrities.
Seriously, I have never watched them and I don't ever want to. I never understood what was so enjoyable or likeable about them. I hope this downward trend continues straight into the ground for them, because I'm finally feeling like the sane one!
@@asosyalpicimamk that’s true to an extent I do think it’s ok to praise people for good things they do because it sets examples for other to do the same.
I don’t understand why they were even given a bit of influence. Their whole notoriety was built off scandals, scams, and stepping on other people without remorse. Our bodies aren't an accessory or a trend. They pretend it is. It isn't. They carry us out entire life and they deserve the respect and support it will give us.
When her first big break is a “leaked” sex tape….yeah …you know she’s not a role model. I blame women for making them rich & famous ( and pretending they are role models / girl boss) 🙄
I once heard someone mention in passing that they were having a hard time juggling everything in their life: work, fitness, kids. And then she compared herself to Kim and said “she’s able to do it all.” I said straight up “she doesn’t do any of that, she hires people to do everything for her. That woman has never cooked a single meal in her life.” And then she was like “oh yea”. Like it baffles me that people think rich people are like the rest of us because they just take their word for it. Don’t be stupid. They are rich, they don’t have to do anything to survive. That’s what their money is for.
i think the way the pandemic changed our entire world is so strange to me. Years before the pandemic feel like an alternate reality. The “flex” culture grew and died so fast with the pandemic. idk if this makes sense, but it really feels like we live in a completely different world than we were in.
@@mc1069 i think it was definitely a change for the better, obviously individually and as a whole, we definitely have a better perspective (atleast i think so) on the world
The big thing that got me on this family is the fact that Kim cried about being exposed (sex tape) and got so much support from victims of the same thing as well as other compassionate beings. All the while it was planned. Kris is literally exposing her children for fortune and fame and Kim is now doing the same with North, who currently is launching a skin care brand. I’m sorry but I’m over celebrities slapping their names on a product when they are not dermatologists nor aestheticians. Don’t buy their shit. Stop giving them money. They literally physically harm one another, spread drama and hate then go silent once called out on it only to come out a few months later pretending as if nothing has happened. Family is disturbed and full of greed and narcissism
another thing is kylie really stopped caring about her businesses entirely, i think the evidence there is with the whole kylie swim disaster, she thought she could start another business for more money & it turned out to be so bad that she’s completely dropped it, it’s nice knowing that people aren’t willing to buy stuff that has their name on it anymore but still, you can also see how she acts in her 73 questions with vogue video, she looked like she didn’t wanna do it at all & acted as if it was something she had to do, i think she has this mentality to where she’s so rich to the point where she really doesn’t have to do anything anymore, she pays everyone to do the hard work for her & all she has to do is post pics on her social media & do a few appearances while taking credit for everything, she really just doesn’t care.
and she calls herself self made 😂😂 like I don’t care if Kim calls her self self made, she got a name for herself, but Kylie AINT even a fraction self made lmao
Reminds me of when Justin Bieber went on multiple tours, collected the money, and would act “unheard” by his underaged crazed fans then storm off without giving a performance. Then plays the “I’m human too” card…collect the bag and let the fans do the rest.
That's the same thing with kendall "modeling career" I heard she didnt want to be a model and wasnt interested in it but her mother bought her modeling contract and shes the highest paid model although she did the least amount of work. She even bragged about not doing much
I really don't think she ever cared. She always seemed like an incredibly boring/dull person with no personality whatsoever, she just oozes insecurity and has this fake confidence facade up. She also seems like she is very unintelligent, never worked hard or really cared about anything she did, and she is completely and totally addicted to her phone. I really don't understand why anyone ever thought so highly of her to begin with, as I truly have never seen anything positive when it came to who she is as a person.
Excellent deep dive. I'm an old Grandma from Canada and have lived long enough to learn that body trends are just that, trends. Steering my daughters through the media gauntlet of their teen years was daunting. I can't imagine doing it now with the absolute bombardment of plastic surgery, starvation 'cleansing' diets, hours of make up application, compression garments (we burned those!!) and the admiration poured out to fake Instagram gurus. I have a 6 year old granddaughter who asked for makeup palettes for Christmas. We had a talk. Big talk. The Kardashians had their time in the spotlight and that spotlight is fading. Always does, and it always comes as a shock to them.
It is so great to read the older generarions opinion (I am 22). Even though I am not even using my instagram, it can be a real struggle sometimes to not just give in to these trends. They are really harmful. Also in my childhood and teenage years my parents were really strict with make up, and now i get it why. They are super expensive, might potencially ruin our natural skin permanently, and also not essential to our everyday life. Thank you so much for sit down and actually talk to your granddaughter about it! Even if she doesn't fully understand yet, it is so much better than a simple "no!". We really need this mentality, because it is a real problem, and as i see the kids today, there is not much hope left.
Meh, when I was little in the 70’s my young trendy disco queen aunt used to give me all her unwanted makeup to play with. As long as I didn’t leave the house with makeup on, it was fine. Kids playing with makeup isn’t exclusively from this age.
in terms of relatability, kylie used to be more outgoing & fun on social media as a teen, and i think people liked her cuz she was closer to younger people’s ages so we could relate to her more than her older sisters, and seeing her posts about how rich she was was interesting to see on snapchat or instagram, but over the past few years she’s become a lot more closed off which is fine-she has a right to her privacy, but because she was already so rich as a teen, by the time she became an adult, she wasn’t relatable in terms of going to college or figuring what she wanted to do with her life for a career cuz she was set, but for the rest of her fans that grew up, we don’t have that luxury, most of us have to work lower paying jobs and live paycheck to paycheck,-especially during the pandemic, nobody was looking into making unnecessary purchases like spending $100 on her new makeup, but then kylie having a kid so young just made her even less relatable there too. we aren’t thinking about having kids because we don’t have money for that but she can. she talks about how being a mom can be hard & all that but she has nannie’s & lavish mansions & money to take care of a kid. also her taking 3 minute private jet flights just proves how out of touch with reality her & her whole family are.
Ok my favorite part of this whole video is seeing your face light up when your daughter walks in and is all giggly, I can't believe time has gone so fast and she seems so big now. It seems like yesterday you were still expecting and feels like only last year you were in your blue kitchen. Crazy how time has gone so fast. Love all your videos and so happy for you and your family! Love to see your channel grow and I'm totally here for it 🙂(I know I'm late to this video but I watch the long videos when I can)
As a mother of a “tween” (12yo daughter) the Kardashian’s have become a “WHAT NOT TO ASPIRE TO BE” example in mine and MANY of her friends households.....they’re on their way to “HASBEEN” status for sure👍🏼
I honestly think that their fame and power will definitely come to an end. The generation that idolized them is now growing up, becoming adults with families and financial responsibilities and are outgrowing the Kardashian trends. The younger generation won’t relate to them. While the Kardashians have created multiple businesses, none of them are unique or valuable enough for it to grow and succeed over the next few decades to attract new customers
Say it louder! I do however feel like they’re gonna use their kids to tap into a new market they can’t get into themselves. I mean North is easily becoming Exhibit A and I hate it 🥺
The sad thing is, even after they'll get "cancelled", they'll still have enough money to live in a ridiculously luxurious comfort until the very last day of their life ... And thanks for what ? There are doctors in this world that work 120 hours a week and that will never be able to dream to get close to their life comfort and the thing is that they're saving lives or curing children from cancer ... Not fucking on a tape or selling a shit quality lip gloss ... Pfff , disgusted.
@@mamolefemolefe7412 this is EXCATLY right. Their mother is Kris the ultimate momager after all. They will use their female children to stay relevant and to launch new business catered to their kids generation. I think north (by that I mean Kim) already is coming up with a skincare under the name "North". Kim trademarked norths name under 4 categories.
Not surprised Kylie Cosmetics is tanking. The lipsticks/stains were some of the worst I’ve tried. They dried my lips out like crazy and didn’t last at all. Maybelline was half the price and infinitely better.
In my experience they weren’t bad… just for the price they were crazy. She’s known for cheap expensive products. Her products compared to others of that price are not even close
Yeah and the marketing is very self centered on kylie herself. In their website her face and name is everywhere. I wouldn’t want blush with kylie written on it with bold letters in my makeup bag.
Right. Could you imagine strangers having so much influence on your life that you want to pay and have surgery to look like them… huh? I can and would NEVER understand that.
HOT TAKE: This whole video is about how sentiment towards the Kardashians started to nosedive during and post-Pandemic. It exposes just how many people are fine with materialism until they personally are struggling (COVID lockdowns, inflation, job loss) The Kardashians haven't changed. At all. Not one bit. They showed their true superficiality and materialism from the very 1st episode. They're a MIRROR for society. Their massive wealth, success & climb to the top is only indicative of society's desire to be like them. BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE! And stop expecting celebrities to care or relate to you 💯
I think another factor that makes this family start fading away is their core fans is finally growing up. I've never been a follower of this family, but I imagine their core fans at their peak, which is around mid 2010s, were teenagers who were still very impressionable, they got impressed easily by the lifestyle. And now they finally became adults who could smell bullshit from miles away.
True. The person who watched this on their first season when they were 12-13 years old is now 32-33 years old. Probably with a husband and family of their own. No one with children would want them to worship a Kylie Jenner or a Kim Kardashian.
Yup. That was me, in my teens. The Kardashians then were not as wealthy and were relatively humorous on their show. I can't say I really vibe with them at all now.
I’m like kylies age and i remember the whole shot glass thing to get bigger lips then she finally came out with the lip filler thing and my parents literally told me to stop following their bs
2020 was a reality check for the entire world. I was in quarantine in America on FaceTime with my friend who was quarantined in India. The everyday person was essentially slapped in the face by the reality of their lives being completely different than the rich. Before everyone got hurt in 2020, the 1% were looked at in curiosity. Now they’re seen with disdain and distrust. This was inevitable for the Kardashians, in my opinion. The pandemic, riots, recession, etc. just sped up the decline. Just imagine how further they’ll fall in the next 5 years alone. I’d be shocked if anyone is still keeping up with the Kardashians in 2028. Great video!
Thank you so much for this message. It is time we bring attention to things that are important; we would have not been aware of the Balenciaga story if it wasn’t for Kanye. And Kim is the ambassador for Baal. We must be aware now and come together to not let the evil win!
What bothers me is that it took so long for people to lose interest in them or to realize how incredibly shallow they are. Why would it shock people that Kim would post a glamourous picture of herself on the beach during covid when everyone else is stuck at home, not able to see friends and/or family? She has always been incredibly self centered. Its about time people were sick of them.
The Sad part is that she ruined Marilyn's dress, trying to get her fake bbl in the dress. That was heartbreaking to watch. Kim thinking she is Marilyn Monroe but she can never be Marilyn.
I remember seeing Kim's tweet and I felt furious. The pandemic is traumatic. Lost family member, friends because of COVID. Lost my job, unable to support myself financially. I just started work full time again although I receive payment below the minimun wage. I experienced long COVID that made me unable to do much. I'm done with this celebrities, i don't follow any of them anymore.
And then don't forget the pandemic caused a LOT of people, and I mean people who were VERY close to eachother like friends, families, and significant others to turn against eachother just from the hysteria of it all. The whole thing caused a lot of permanent psychological damage.
Oh definitely, agree on feeling furious. We were policed on going to and from work and then back home. Couldn’t see family members/friends. I couldn’t see my grandparents for months because they were high risk… but yet you have these people flying out family AND friends to islands. It was infuriating /:
I hope we learn from this and never put a family like the kardashians in the spot light again, it's so exhausting to keep up with this constant Perfection that doesn't even exist. Can we have more Princess Diana's please, genuine and real people who are there for the betterment of humanity. This lifestyle that has been created is killing people even faster. It would be such a wonderful world if we just accepted diversity and different kinds of beauty instead of picking and choosing different features from different races that are considered beautiful. We don't necessarily all need to be best friends but if we could just learn how to co exist without being violent or without trying to set this standard of perfect I think everyone will be better off.
I think one of the things that really gets me about the kardashians and similar influencers isn't just the exorbitant wealth - but it's the framing of it all. They try to put forth this image that they are these incredible business women who came into what they had simply by working harder than the rest of us. During the pandemic, essential workers and first responders went through hell. Heck, I even watched as Central Park became a makeshift medical center and morgue. THOSE people work harder than any of these women ever have and struggle to make ends meet. The idea that hard work leads to financial success (or even financial security) is in incredibly antiquated and out-of-touch idea that does not work in the modern world (and in America in particular). We can work ourselves nearly to death and still not be able to put food on the table.
And so many people talk about how proud they are for working themselves to death. They call it work ethic and panic about how everyone else is too lazy to work. Look at all of The people loving elon the more his shit treatment of workers comes out. I'm starting to think screw it people want to be exploited , they beg for it and insult people who wAnt to be treated better at work or just MKe living wage. so good for the exploiters can't blame them for taking advantage of people who eat it up I hate it lol but so many people dont! They adore the billionzires and are proud of literally breaking their bodies down for scrapz And act like it makes them so much better than all.Of them lazy leaches who dare to want better than 80 hours a week for non liing wages. It is crazy to see how many people seem to think like that if i am to believe people in comments.sections maybe it is just too painful to admit thAt breaking your body down for scraps wasn't worth it so they gotta.be in denial and hate the people who don't admire their "work ethic" and see.the exploitation for what it is. The cognitive dissonance is too much lol
AMEN AMEN AMEN. I'm a small business owner (cafe/retail, physical shop) and I work my bloody arse off 7 days a week. When Kim said "get your ass up and work" I was so dumbfounded. They are just so out of touch, I have never enjoyed their presence in any sphere. My housemate watches their shows and I have to leave the room because I just can't stand it. My heart goes out to all essential workers and first responders, thank you for carrying us we love and appreciate you.
This is off -topic but your kid walking in and calling the lion a kitty was so cute.(Not trying to be creepy, just an adorable distraction from the Kardashian madness ).
@@babylonbleedsblack It is sad that those of us with honorable intentions “ must” watch what we say about precious innocents. Ah well, Madison knows ….
the final straw for me, was both kim trying to use kimono before having to change to skims, and her ruining Marilyn Monroe's original dress, despite a replica had been made to fit kim
@@nataliejayne3699 100% and knowing they made a replica since we know for a fact she would never be able to fit the dress due to different body types, and we've seen the damage she did...
I love how Madison has become our cool cousin we only see every few months. Like every time we see her she has a new hairstyle and a new reason to be pissed off at the world lol
Thing that always concerned me about Kardashians is their aggression towards each other. You have 5 grown up women fighting with each other, beating and being violent. I know fights, even physical between siblings aren't uncommon, but it's during childhood and they are adults! I couldn't understand the fascination about Kardashians when I know that on-screen and (most likely) off screen they treat each other like this. How messed up it must be to be able to get into a physical fight with your sibling in front of the cameras, fully aware millions of people - and very easily influenced children - are going to see this, and yet still be treated like a cultural icon. (I know they're not the first and last ones, but I mention it since it's a video specifically about Kardashians).
Their family is SOO dysfunctional, they're all horrible to each other more often than not. It would be a lot sadder if most of them weren't so hard to sympathize with
I love that one computer-animated video that makes fun of how petty their fights are. They’re at a restaurant, and Kim tells her sisters how great the orange soda is and assumes they’ll order it, too. Then Kourtney and Khloe both order strawberry soda instead and dramatic music plays. Kim looks shocked, then says “Whatever. Fuck you guys” and walks away.
I think what kept the celebrity fascination in the ‘00s and ‘10s going is the “they are just like us” narrative that the media were driving. Remember the slogan “Beyoncé has the same amount of hours in the day as you?”. Exactly. Nowadays we all know that celebrities have a live-in cook, personal trainer, cleaner, personal assistant, etc. They have never been relatable, the events after C 19 just revealed this stark reality the most. Celebrities were trying to convince us they were struggle just like us in their mansions during the lockdown - and not to devalue their experiences, but it’s easier to stay home if your basic needs are taken care of.
I knew kardashians influence was over when people liked watching people work regular, 9-5 jobs. & then Kylie tried to copy what regular people do on her Tik tok and people calling her out over it 😂
The problem here is not the Kardashians, the issue is in each individual human being that feels the need to follow someone else’s ideals of how to live their lives instead of their own. There will be new role models in the future, those who need that sense of approval from others will follow those trends, until one day they’ll feel betrayed and blame those role models for guiding them wrong. Hope whoever is reading this can see the bigger picture. Follow your on bliss, in other words, be true to your own self.
It’s about darn time. I don’t hate the Kardashians but I don’t support this industry whatsoever. They are part of a machine that’s hurting us. Love, Mom of Teens
This is honestly why I blocked the whole family a longggg time ago. DON’T even hate watch them, don’t buy from them, just don’t feed their ego anymore.
When Kim said “ I’ll pay whatever to wear Marilyn’s dress for ten minutes of my life “ why can’t she pay whatever to end world hunger . These women are not god fearing
Brown women been (also some Hispanic) having this body type but THEY MADE IT POPULAR?!!😂😂😂😂😂 They copy our body but they made it a trend, just like jlo some how big butts was a good thing. We been wearing wigs and fake hair and was put down about it (especially by man in our own community) but it's okay when they do it, WE been doing bantu knots but some white chicks wear them call it mini buns it's a trend!! It came with US from AFRICA!! Brown and Hispanic women was the only ones doing the lip liner but non color chicks do it that makes it Kool!., I swear this crap kills me!
@@kokolatte825 I wish....But definitely not the case. I'm in college and most people have tiktok...They all know who they are which is very unfortunate but just sigh* society why do we make all these random people famous seriously
Great video, but one part that I thought was missing was Kendall's Pepsi ad. The ad took place during the widespread demonstrations against police brutality. An ad where she was depicted sharing a Pepsi with a police officer and then magically bringing peace to the world. It was entirely tone deaf and out of touch, and it didn't go unnoticed. That was a major turning point, and a lot of people realized just how out of touch the entire family was on top of everything else that proceeded it, and everything that came after.
I don't understand why it took people so long to be fed up with the Kardashians BS, lies, con games and major flex. I am rejoicing that it has finally happened! I have never been a fan of the Kardashians and have never understood why people idolize celebrities.
Binge watching your videos because I was recently led to your page and listening to you and your sons (?) interactions together are the purest thing ever. 😢 Side note "the world is burning" "oh, it's a lion, so I guess it's like a cat" "back to how the world is burning" is sending me 😂
I ain’t gonna lie don’t believe him. He been sitting on this information for this long⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️ naw maybe with more proof but I’m not taking his word for it
She ALWAYS suggested he committed a crime. She said from the beginning that he put the tape out behind her back. That he "leaked" it and that the only thing left for her to do was to make a deal with the p0rn company so she can atleast get paid. What has always made me know that this story is complete bull is the fact that it makes no sense. Never has
As a HUGE former makeup collector from the years of 2014-2020 Kylies products were never great, they were only hyped. I had about every single thing she had ever released and I ended up giving almost all of it away.
Imagine les belles destinations de voyage où tu aurais pu aller pour le prix de cette collection ? Grandis ton cœur et ton âme de souvenirs, tu peux le faire et c'est tellement plus gratifiant !
I think I heard about that from some makeup artists I followed at the time. I forget who they were, but they were a bit more obscure than the top 5 in the RU-vid beauty community. I think they were special effects artists.
I think Kris is a narcissistic mother. She is the ring leader, the momager... she holds all the cards. The older daughters could of strayed away but they didn't because the fame was exciting for them. Kendall and Kylie never had a chance at a normal life. Kris is the reason for this monstrosity of a family. And the only people they can trust are each other and I think Kris revels in that.
@@klaradolejsi7103 I’ll have to see if I watched it bc for some reason i could not remember!Thank you so much for letting me know though :) I’ll have to binge the series of videos she’s made against them again 🤣
I think they’re losing fans now because it’s become ABUNDANTLY clear how greed and fame obsessed they are. Also, they became billionaires during the pandemic. It’s insane to think about how they became at their richest while most of the world became the poorest.
Also the fact that Kim & Kanye divorced and so messily plays a role Kanye actually got Kim taken more seriously in fashion circles at least, the relationship was beneficial for her and since they’re over, some of those benefits are too Just to clarify, I think Kanye is extremely problematic too.
You covered this really well. Never been a Kardashian fan nor ever watched their show. Also the look of love on your face when your daughter came into the room was just absolutely adorable and so heart warming.
I literally screamed when you mentioned the pointless palettes🤣. Like palettes are going to be in the Smithsonian 50 years from now as a reminder of our frivolous spending due to scammish social media influencers🤣🤣🤣. It's like the 1920s excess but with touch screens smh.
they have lost touch with reality completely at this point. i don't understand how anyone idolized them to begin with tbh, all they ever were doing is flaunting their wealth to everyone while in the same breath claiming to be "quirky" or "relatable".
@@ms.wilson6439 yeah and then kylie got the nerve to act offended!!! Like she had no idea what they were talking about. Yet not denying or showing proof of anything either
Well done video as always! I can’t understand why Forbes thought selling $25 lip glosses could create a billionaire? Maybe they wondered but got those false documents. I just wish they had questioned it more because it always seemed impossible and blatantly false to me. It wasn’t even a mature brand 🤦♀️
Girl. You need a trophy or something for these amazingly informative and insanely researched and well put together deep dives. If there was an Oscar for these you'd win! Thank you. You are so appreciated. 💛
I'm not on there side but it's very hard to reach a billion even if you have millions, many millionaires are trying to reach that status and will never. So yes if she actually is a billionaire, it's self made
What turned me off finally was actually there bizarre treatment of Scott! They really did exploit his trauma, alcohol issues, death of his parents, for views of there programme, I’m sure that he willingly went along with this thinking he would always be apart of the brand. However, they literally cut him out and are now in the new season trying to address this bringing him back and gaslighting viewers. I just can’t… if they “treat there own” like that how can we expect them to treat viewers any better!!
What annoys me the most about them is the absolute theft of their kid's privacy! Not everyone wants to be famous or have security and putting that burden onto their own children is just gross.
I'm not really interested in them but someone on twitter said that they only show the girls but keep the boys out of the spotlight If thats true, that's fcked up because they obviously know and understand that privacy for children is super important...they just don't care
it's more just the family business. i disagree with it, but it is what it is. money comes with sacrifices, whixh these kid didnt agree to the terms of. its really not up to us peasants to judge.
