This is most likely the Enneagram triad you've heard of (if you've heard of any of them at all).
It is comprised of the:
-Head
-Heart
-Gut
And guess what?
You have a primary Triad Center that determines how you interpret & interact with your environment every day. It's also what I call our "chief bias" in life.
But more on that later...
Ready for some foundational Enneagram insight?
Let's get into it!

I think this showed me I am a 5 rather than 1 - when I have a problem I gather so much knowledge that I forget to act on it or to realise it and in the end I haven't done anything to actually fix the problem aside from whining and obsessively research.

I am really enjoying your videos! The most clear descriptions I have heard that really make sense to me. I am a type 5. Not sure of my dominant wing. i can see myself in both 4 and 6, so still learning. I had the same thouught as a commenter before, that 5's should be internalising and had to listen to that bit again. So your alternative explanation made sense to me.Your other video about the wounded child fascinated me. I now want to explore a healthy 8. My childhood trauma was from such a young age, I could not identify with a healthy 8 when you described them but, I look forward to exploring this. Thanks for these videos, I am watching them chronologically to hear everything you are sharing/teaching.

This is exactly the kind of comment I'd hoped for when I started this series. Thank you so much for watching and being so thoughtful as you dive into this material. Grateful for your viewership Jacqueline! Looking forward to hearing more of your insights/reflections on future videos.

Hello, fellow type 1! This is the first place I've found that I think adequately explains how the 9 and 1 deal with anger differently. A while ago, I thought they seemed similar in that regard, but I knew there was supposed to be a difference and couldn't remember what it was. I tried to figure it out and wasn't really satisfied with the explanations I found, but in hindsight I was probably just asking Google too specific of a question. Thanks for clearing that up! (My 9 wing is strong enough that at one point I questioned whether I'm actually a 9w1 instead of a 1w9, so I tried to explore the differences in anger to figure out which one I am. I really think the core fears and desires for the 1 are my primary motivators over the 9 though, even if I can sometimes relate to the 9 too.)

So glad this video was helpful/felt accurate! I think it's a pretty common experience when you have a strong wing influence to not know which is your primary type. Good on ya for doing the continued research to figure it out! I've also got some newer videos on type 9 and type 1 if ya want to keep diving down those rabbit holes :) Type 1: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PNTi3KfNZUE.html Type 9: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dkYR6b_hUMQ.html

@@YouveGotaType Thanks for sharing those! I feel even more solid with 1w9 based on that. I decided to watch the 9 video first and thought some of it was relatable, but also quite a few parts were not. As for the 1, the whole bit about being super sensitive to criticism and having our true emotions come out when faced with it - I felt that deep in my soul. Not the first time I've felt that way about the 1, but I've never had that type of reaction with the 9. Thanks for the affirmation!

@@cmpicha2934 my pleasure! I too am a 1w9 so I know those feelings well :) which also makes the RU-vid comment sections a very sensitive place for me haha so thanks again for the kind words 🙏

Incredible content, though I don’t know if I agree with the types assigned with externalize, internalize, and subconscious

9w1 here. My anger terrifies me and I worry that if I let it out I'll hurt myself or others or that people will leave when they see just how deep and dark my anger goes, so I dissociate from it and convince myself that it doesn't even exist, and so when my anger eventually comes out it's often explosive, which terrifies me even more and leads me to dissociate from it even more. It's a really crappy cycle. 10/10 wouldn't recommend.
@YouveGotaType
@YouveGotaType 2 года назад
Thanks for sharing your specific experience Tyler. I would say Bravo for at least knowing this cycle exists within you - many other 9s are completely blind to it at all so you're miles ahead of the game (hopefully that's mildly encouraging). Best wishes as you continue to subvert that vicious cycle of the ego!

Interesting that you associate orientation to time with the main triad rather than Hornavian triad (aggressive/future, compliant/present, withdrawn/past).
@YouveGotaType
@YouveGotaType 3 года назад
It's definitely a complex association - but it's mostly tied to where those emotions come from (shame, anxiety, and anger).

I like your content! Did you mean to say that 5s internalize and 7s externalize? 5s are in the withdrawn Hornevian Group, 7s in the Assertive.
@YouveGotaType
@YouveGotaType 3 года назад
Hey Josh, I say it correctly in the video round 4:20. Perhaps it helps to say it this way, "5s in stress will OVER communicate their anxiety and 7s in stress will UNDER communicate their anxiety." Hopefully that makes more sense! Oh and the Hornevian Triad is tied to social interactions - so it doesn't apply here.
@JoshHoper
@JoshHoper 3 года назад
OK, thanks for clarifying. Is it possible that it can depend on the level of development? - I've noticed when I was an unhealthy 5, I tended to blurt out randomly my frustrations under stress. As I've grown, I tend not to react so randomly and moved from just keeping my mouth shut and now more often I find and communicate a teaching moment.
@YouveGotaType
@YouveGotaType 3 года назад
@@JoshHoper Absolutely, levels of development play a huge part. This is just a flyover description so there's a lot more nuance to how each type will express their Triad Center. Integrated 5s have the calm, inner strength of an 8 and can channel their many perceptions into powerful teaching moments.

Just realized after listening a few times you don’t mention type 8 when you’re breaking down the groups of 3s! I assume they externalize their anger but what else
