After the game between Vincent Keymer and Levon Aronian ended, Peter Leko came from the commentary box to meet his protege Vincent and talk with his friend Levon. It was such an enthusiastic conversation between Aronian and Leko that showed how much both of them loved chess.

Yes he is a great guy but regarding autographs I really wish they were readable and can make out the person's name somehow. So many celebs are lazy and just use some scribble

Everyone always loves Aronian. When you read about his childhood you become even more of a fan of him and that he managed to cultivate such a good and pure spirit despite it.

He hasn't played on tournaments for years. He's working as Vincent's coach now. However, I'm sure he could easily be a Top 40 player even now.

@@solinvictus6587 He was an amazing player. On par with Kramnik he was drawn 7-7 with Kramnik in World championship match in 2004 but he lost. Amazing player

@@seya_2 Yes, he was. I grew up in Hungary and in the 90s it was widely publicized when he became the world's youngest GM, breaking the previous record of her fellow Hungarian Judit Polgár.

Right, he's so nice that you wouldn't think it. But then he says things in commentary, that Nobody else does, not even danya. As a top player, he can often see positions that are practically very tricky or saveable despite the engine saying -2 or whatever, see Magnus's first rapid tie break vs Alireza, he was saying magnus has great chances when the computer said -2 and magnus ended up winning@@seya_2

It's amazing to me that professional chess players remembers chess positions like this. Like they're just saying "b4 b5 nc6 bla bla bla" and everyone of them knows that how the position in the game was. It's remarkable.

Yes! When he was playing Foosball few days ago :D :D You can probably find a video from it on RU-vid. EDIT: seems like it's hard to find, but it was in one of the livestream "b-rolls" type of thing of this tournament. He was high-fiving and smiling from ear to ear!

Leko got old. I remember him being a very young boy at Investbanka chess tournament in Belgrade in 1995. I was in the audience when he beat Kramnik.

@@seya_2He's a great player no doubt but you're selling Kramnik short with that comparison. Kramnik was World Champion multiple times, top-10 player of all time, has a much higher peak rating, held no. 1 position in ranking while Leko's peak was #4. There's no comparison between the two.
