The Sims taught me about sex before my parents gave me "the talk." Was I a bit too young to be playing The Sims? Probably. I remember very little of my childhood, but I do remember their faces when they tried to give me "the talk" and I actually already knew where babies came from because of The Sims. Granted I didn't know it was called sex, since the love bed was just "play in bed." But semantics.

Sometime in the future the sims should release a pack called "A blast from the past" and it will add the stuff people miss from the old games

11:19 TRUE. The Sims 4 COULD be a great game. It has a better engine than 2 and 3. It has a great CAS and Build Mode. But gameplay is a huge let down, even five years after release with 28 packs and 50-something patches. Moodlets are pointless, whims are pointless, emotions have never been expanded (fear emotion?), autonomy is lacking, Sims don't really react to anything that doesn't happen directly in front of them, etc. The potential is there, but it has never been realized and at this point, 5 years after release, I doubt it'll ever be.

Oh, my God. I remember. I chose "Play in bed" in the heart shaped bed and my Sims started barking under the sheets, naked. I'm talking about The Sims Bustin' Out for PS2 here, which was released on 2003, so I was like 5-8 when I played the game. But when I got really traumatised was with The Sims 2 cut-scenes. That's how I learnt how babies were made. They were SO explicit. I think they cut them out later on.

I remember my mom being hesitant to get me The Sims Hot Date when I was a kid and I convinced her there was nothing scandalous about it, then I'd make my sims woohoo like rabbits in the restaurant booths lmao.

You're right, I've been playing since the Sims 2 and every game after it was less and less of what it originally was. When I saw the sim's stories, wishes, and fears, I just loved following their lives, living it as if they really were telling you what they wanted. Now the sims are so impersonal, it's like a robot you can make whatever you want with. Sims 2 had personality, and above all, they had aspirations! Real ones, measured ones since you had like a scale to show how realized they feel. I love sims 4 mostly because my eyes can't stand Sims 2 graphic quality anymore, they also have many cool features, I just miss how they were so much more different back then.

I sincerely wonder if anyone else is old enough to have paused and moved that heart shaped bed in build mode once their sims were under the covers 😂😂😂

It's actually so funny and weird that the translation of "woohoo" in official Russian version is a blunt "to have sex". In the Sims 2 at least.

When I first had the Sims I actually asked my mom to come look at my sim going naked into the heart bed and asked her why she was doing that. She didn't have a good answer.

For some reason, sims 2 and 3 localisations in my country use "sex" instead of "woohoo" and I have no idea how that happened and why games still were 13+ Meanwhile innocent sims 4 is 18+

I will say that I do like in the Sims 4 they don't always show WooHoo as giving a positive moodlet. Sometimes one will pop up that suggests that the woohoo wasn't that great and the sim wasn't satisfied. So that's pretty cool. Not sure if there is anything like that in the Sims 3 (haven't played it)

My brothers and I played The Sims when I was 5 or 6 years old. Our cousins had those CD installers of Livin' Large and other expansion packs. Then, we had to create a crack CD so that the game would work. Miss those days. 😊

Sims do react to some woohoo situations in TS4, for example, closet woohoo. That will elicit giggles and cheers. However I know what you mean. I also love how you edit yourself into your own video to interrupt yourself...🤣

As someone who has played sims for the same length of time as you - this is SO nostalgic! I remember being SO in love with Sims 2 after sims 1, I LOVED the wants and fears, and the pregnancy and aging.... it's making me want sims 2 rather than 4 now lol
