The Epic Games Store STILL Sucks... 

I just had a terrible user experience with Epic Games. Final Fantasy 7 Remake was on sale and I got a coupom, so I decided to buy it. And then, after downloading, the problems started. 1st. The game was opening on the wrong monitor. Instead of opening on my properly set horizontal main monitor, it was opening on my second, vertical monitor. And the app has no option to set the start up monitor. So whenever I open the game, I had to alt+enter, drag the window to my main monitor, and then alt+enter again. 2nd. The game wasn't in english, neither had any option to change it. I live in Brazil and I speak portuguese, but I like to play my games in english, but there was no way to choose the language. On steam I can set a default language, but also easily change the language on a game to game basis if I want, just by right clicking on the game in my library. On Epic, on the other hard, I didn't find any option. After googling I finally learned that I had to got to my account setting ON THE EPIC GAMES WEBSITE, and change my default language there. WTF?!?! Really?!?! No game specific setup? Can't change it on the app? This is even worse than it is on consoles! 3rd. My Xbox controller was double inputting the D-Pad keys for some reason. Again, I had to google it, and the reason was because some games tend to do that if you have Steam opened. Good lord, I thought, nothing works properly in this platform, does it? 4th. I'm not an achievement hunter, and to be honest I hate being interrupted with pop ups while playing. So I really love how Steam handles the achievements. A little, discrete, non intrusive window on the corner, with no sound effect, that is perfect. How Epic handles this? A big pop up with a sound effect, of course. No, no, no, no ,no!!!!!!! And as if my experience wasn't sour enough, I google it again and learn that the game is a timed exclusive. Dear lord almighty! This is all they have going for them? Timed exclusivity? It's really not worth it the terrible experience. It's like they KNOW they suck, and are not willing to change, so this is the only way they know to stay relevant. I'll wait whatever it takes, but I'm playing that game on Steam. Not buying on epic ever again.

Epic really needs to FIRE the person or teams who are responsible for Game Libiary.... I guess they just want to earn money from investors.

One of the things I hate the most about Epic is that it doesn't let you move your games to diferent hardrives like you can do with Steam and other game lauchers on PC were they let you discover your existing games. On Epic you have to literaly trick the program to do this and sometimes it doesn't work.

You should also mention that moving games from one drive/device to another on Epic is a huge p.i.t.a! You sort of have to _trick_ the launcher into doing it, otherwise it'll just download and install a fresh new copy of the game alongside the old one. I hate how Epic has all this FU money for free games and exclusives but couldn't care less about giving their customers a halfway decent experience at the very least. That alone is proof that they don't care about their customers at all. They are nothing more than dollar signs to them.

I agree the launcher sucks if there were some better UI its the download speeds and the frequent servers going down is anoying.

Update for 2023. My biggest complaint is still that the UI is so slow. My computer is so overbuilt that i should be future proofed for a large handful of years. One if the very few things that doesnt run well on my computer is 'Epic Store Launcher'

oof, one year later and it's still lacking. Most exclusives end up on Steam a year later anyway, after all the patches.

Hell you can't even gift games to your friends in Epic a basic concept.

I just wrote in another EPIC related video comments, I have 220+ games on EPIC, I have never paid a cent. I still have only ever installed maybe 4-5 total. If I liked them, I waited for them to be on Steam or on sale on Steam and bought them there. I have 800+ purchased games on Steam. BTW: 90 games and those hours played are rookie numbers. :) You can get Steam levels by playing the games, getting cards, trading for the ones you need.

I regretly bought red dead redemption 2 on epic because it was cheaper, but now i don't even want to finish the game, mainly because it's on epic and it feels like i'm throwing my time away.

Something that the epic game launcher sorely lacks the the ablity to detect previously installed games.

The store is only needed on Thursday, on Thursday I Google Epic free games, I get the free game then come back next week. In between the wait for next Thursday I use Steam and that's it.

Just came across your video I'd say gog galaxy and steam offer more features even the basic features also both do something different steam focus on drm based gaming gog is drm free and you can link up almost all luncher on including epic funny enough.

They don't have money to improve it since they waste the money on exclusive deals Lmao. and you dont have to buy these Cards on Steam, they Drop randomly when you play a game.

Another thing about EGS, is that they can lock your account and not unlock it because support sucks lmfao (rlly more crying)
